- The Spectacular Spider-Man is considered the greatest Spider-Man cartoon of all time. But sadly it was cancelled before it had a chance to finish it's story. So for this video I'm going to talk about the original plans had a Season 3 and beyond was allowed to be made.

The fact that we would have gotten season 3, 4,5 and a movie along with the fact carnage hobgoblin and scorpion were gonna be the main villains makes me so sad it was cancelled

@@cj2k17 to rub salt in the wound, Ultimate aired in 2012. Spectacular has 3 seasons left when it was abruptly cancelled in 2009. That means it would've finished by 2012 and Disney could have ushered their series in right after! So they cancelled it for nothing!

I realize you said this before the movie came out, but Spectacular Spiderman being in the spiderverse movie was the worst idea ever. I had predicted that including spectacular spiderman in that movie was just going to be a lazy way to promote the movie by getting fans of the show to talk about it, but I never would have imagined that they would ruin the character this badly in the one second he was even on screen. Spectacular Spiderman should never have been in that movie.

@@dougeefresh1534 I kind of get that. But even if he decides to switch sides it's kind of already too late. The fact he even showed up in order to support Miguel's insanity, has probably already killed so many people anyway, and so on means it's kind of pointless. The movie already character assassinated literally everyone. And yeah I'm sure they're going to give Miguel a redemption arc or something like they did at the end of this movie with all of the returning Peter's from the first Spider verse. But they shouldn't have even bothered at all.
Also, this isn't really related to the writing, but I'm sorry I have to complain about the way they even animated that scene. When I first started learning how to do animation it was emphasized that you need to make everything in the scene look consistent. It's really jarring if you have some sort of photo realistic rock in the foreground and everything else looks like a PS1 game. The first Spider verse did a good job making all of the different art styles match and blend together. But this one looks really bad. The scene with Spectacular Spiderman literally looks like it was photoshopped by a 9 year old.
I'm sorry I know everyone loved that movie and stuff, but I hate that movie and I think it's completely put me off from anything Spiderman or marvel related for good.
@themaraudingcrusaders6557, (ATSV Spoilers ahead) I see your point, but would like to respectfully disagree. As across shows, Spectacular has experienced another loss since the snow ended, and we had been pointed out by others, the majority or the other spiders likely joined Miguel because the mere fact that they couldn't do anything to stop the event give them some peace. I don't think Spectacular is any different. Losing George would have been a crushing blow that likely damaged his relationship with Gwen severely. But she still lives, and I think that will be one of the things that turns him to switch sides in Beyond (there is speculation that he'll get a larger role and his own character arc in the movie). I think in Across, he is still feeling the pain of George's death very clearly, and thus wants to believe that it was for a higher purpose, so he sides with Miguel for the moment, but will ultimately join Gwen and Miles due to his own morality, and the lessons George and Uncle Ben taught him. I think he is still perfectly in character.
And we a quick side note, I rather like the chaotic, mismatching styles of all the different characters.
Solid video, Burg. I spent countless hours watching this series when I was younger and loved every minute of it. Nowadays, I appreciate it even more. It is a shame that a third season never came into creation, and all of the ideas could have been in said season sound great, but for what we got, it was truly spectacular.

For starters, Spider Man has never been my favourite superhero, but still I understand why he has become one of the most iconic heroes ever. However, I can't deny that I loved The Spectacular Spiderman since, when I was little, it was how I came in contact with Spidey and his universe full of characters and colourful villains (in fact for a long time I believed that Kraven was an antropomorphic lion instead of a normal human hunter). I can agree with you about saying that The Spectacular Spider Man is the best Spider Man series ever but this is the only series of Spider Man I have seen in my life and probably I would be still influenced by my childhood memories. Only from last year I discovered that this show was cancelled because of the reasons you explain in the video, which is a great pity; plus I like all the ideas you explained for making the series continue. Overall, I liked all the information and arguments you put in this video.
More villains like hydro man, sin eater and the prowler were confirmed but it would’ve been the Hobie brown prowler

If Star Wars: The Clone Wars can have its ending, so can Spectacular Spider-Man!!! What we need though is great story though, there is a UA-camr named Lewis Fiction who’s currently doing a great job continuing where Spectacular Spider-Man left off, but who knows? Maybe someone officially can do it and do it right.
Imagine if Sony was the one who own the rights to Marvel instead of Disney.
I think a spectacular Spider-Man movie series would work better than reviving the whole series.
Greg Weismann did say that he hoped to make movies between seasons. I think the better solution is make it into an animated film franchise since Sony owns the movie rights.
Into the spider verse already led us to many opportunities of Spider-Man universes. That means spectacular is one of them.
This is why I still wondered why Sony didn’t make it into a movie series after canceling it in 2009.
The situation is weirder and more complex than that, kind of hard to explain and I'm not sold completely on the movie idea but still is something interesting to explore and if that helps to make the series to come back then I'm all for it.
@@keineken_3281 the movie idea can work if you seen dc, Scooby doo, Tom and Jerry direct to video films this idea can follow for spectacular Spider-Man. It can maybe create a Spider-Man film multiverse saga to direct to video films from many Spider-Man variants and stories we know.

Little note on the "teaming up with different Marvel heroes" aspect, in one of his responses to an "Ask Greg" question, Greg Weisman detailed where basically every other major Marvel superhero was in Spectacular's universe and why they hadn't shown up yet. Most of them were just "they haven't experienced their origin yet" but it was still really neat to see explained.

Best Spider-Man show I've seen until this day. I enjoyed the 90s one aswell but there was just something great about this one. Story was dope, they had all the characters plus more to come. The fights were actually amazing. The theme song is my favourite Spider-Man theme to this day. I truly hope the series can continue one day.

Yo, Stretch Armstrong fan here! I liked the video, but just one nitpick: I think Peter and MJ were supposed to end together in the far future if the college DTVs were made. The show was supposed to end in Peter’s graduation, and Peter and MJ don’t date after Gwen’s death in college.

Honestly, since Sony had the rights to that show, they could’ve easily made movies based off of it. From what I learned, Sony has full rights to the show, but can’t make new seasons/episodes without Disney, because Disney has the TV rights to Spider-Man as a character.
Funny story there. Movies were being planned based on the series. But I guess Sony decided to cancel those too

I don't agree with the notion that Young Justice should've stayed cancelled. I understand if you don't like the show, we all have different taste. However, I much prefer that a story gets a conclusion and finishes properly rather than stopping midway.

I don’t even know how they would have tackled Jackal given the comics make him WEIRD but somehow they managed to adapt the good elements along with the rami movie stuff in there🤔 kinda makes it hard to do a fan continuation fanfic style 😅 so I appreciate this video

Disney ruins everything first they ruin Power Rangers by not adopting Samurai Sentai Shinkenger for 2010 and we had to wait for an entire year for that. Then they ruin Star Wars because they scrapped the original version of the sequel trilogy which would’ve been about princess Leia and then they ruin Marvel season three would’ve been the best

Recently watched this show and it was fantastic. I definitely thing they where setting up Captain Stacey for game end (if you catch my drift) with him slowly realizing who Spider-Man really is. You don’t just do that and make it lead nowhere.
Also, if the series ever did return and it had Morbius, I 100% guarantee they’d have him say “It’s Morbin time!” A lot of modern Spider-Man seems to lean into meme culture like the pointing meme so don’t think it’s to farfetched

I really hope and praying to God that there will be new seasons if The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series will finally return?! Why you all ask? Because ever since I saw episode 25 and 26 back on 2009, I was very sad & pissed that the show ended up very badly with an anticlimactic ending! And I really hope that Spider-Man from Earth-26496 will find a way to make Felicia Hardy the Black Cat forgive him of his selfish revenge on her father; Walter Hardy the Cat Burglar. Cause I realized that in the grand calculus of the Multiverse, all the Ben Parkers that said to his nephew Peter “With great power, there must also come great responsibility” and that’s on the day he died. Witch means his Uncle Ben didn’t die for nothing. And I really love this version of Black Cat on The Spectacular Spider-Man, because she’s so scolding hot!

However one thing it did get right was the Stacy's dying as that is seen in Across the Spider-Verse

I have to disagree. I would have loved to see that back in the day. But aside from the obvious fact a season 3 just won't happen, even if it was announced I doubt it would be the same as what was originally planned. It wouldn't have been anywhere near as good. Especially with the modern state of Marvel and comic book/comic book movies in general.

We may never have deserved it, but Spidey did. I was an innocent yet messed up kid who didn't have the virtue to call out how evil it was that this work of art got cancelled, but only to have a piece of garbage that should know it's wrong but is shameless be allowed. Cancel our favorite shows, fine, we'll always find new shows and we can still rewatch and it never gets old. But replace with a piece of trash, then you have crossed the line!

It's because of people like you and anyone else that watches their current stuff.
To be blunt, why would Disney listen to you if you give them money regardless? I brought up something similar with a friend of mine who was angry that Disney cancelled earth's mightiest heroes to replace it was that dumpster fire avengers assemble. The truth is that it won't matter because as long as you give Sony and Disney money they will not listen to you. Why would they revive EMH if you'll make sure Avengers endgame makes over a billion dollars? Why would Sony try to get Spectacular revived when they can just milk live action Spiderman movies and succeed considering both Venom movies were huge profits? Or No way home? Or those terrible insomniac Spiderman games. Those make a massive profit.
To be honest I don't even want Spectacular Spiderman or Earth's mightiest heroes to get third seasons. I hope it never happens. But if you want anything like that you have to have the kind of dedication that something like the bush for Snyder's justice league had.

1. I actually LOVE Spider-Man in the Russo Brothers movies. I think they really get the character right and I actually enjoy him more in those movies than I do the first two which leads me to the next question
2. I love No Way Home. I think it's a great development for the MCU Peter where he finally goes on his own and to have a treat to see Tobey and Andrew back. Infact the Latter proved he can be a great Spider-Man he just had a crappy director with Marc Webb. My only complaint is the lack of Venom. I think that 2007 Venom should've return, and the treatment of the Sony Venom in the post credit scene left a sour taste in my mouth after enjoying the film
@@theprofburg Also remember how Batman TAS lasted from 1992-1995 and then got revived in 1997 with Superman TAS’s art style to fit with the DCAU ? How would you feel if Spectacular Spider-Man got that similar treatment, having Earth’s Mightiest Heroes art style to sort of fit in with that show ( since it was confirmed that Josh Keaton was going to reprise his role of Spider-Man but his lines got dubbed by Drake Bell ) instead of Ultimate Spider-Man happening ?

It's probably for the best Spider Man won't come back. We've seen how bad Greg Wiseman screwed up young justice even pre cancellation. That and superhero cartoons are now just ads for the movies.
We will never get something as great as the DCAU, X Men TAS, Spiderman TAS, or Spectacular ever again.
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Young Justice. For me, it's more from season 3 that the series becomes bad.
It should have been canceled after two seasons and never come back. That way, it would have avoided making it decline even more.

Yeah. I call this the Mcdonald-ifying of everything. Personally I don't really mind regarding DC since the Bruce Timm universe was already so good. But it does suck how Spectacular Spiderman and Earth's mightiest heroes and stuff went down.

Spectacular Spider-Man was an epic show equal to the 90s Spider-Man Ultimate that came after eh some Episodes were good I admit but the whole series itself not perfect some things were different in Spectacular but still I loved It Tombstone being the big man instead of Kingpin. Montana being Shocker was perfect instead of Herman Shultz's plus the enforcers damn were they good. Black suit slowly turning into the classic suit we know and love not that webs were completely bad on the black suit Venom was perfect he needed more screen time like other Villains did. I watch the DVD's of both seasons all the time and now it's on Disney Plus should so consider bring it back for the fans. You don't get epic cartoons like this anymore IMO I still blame Disney for the show leaving us Spider-Man is the mascot of Marvel Disney did good with some Marvels Spider-Man 2017 eh same with Ultimate some good episodes but the series itself not perfect I did like the Superior Spider-Man story arc and Cloak & Dagger showing up but still could have been better. Disney is making another new Spider-Man for next year I hear Spider-Man freshman year based on the MCU Hmmm not sure how it will be but let's see how Disney does least they didn't ruin Spidey completely with like with some Star Wars movies. And Young Justice got canceled again by the way damn thanks MCU.

Like when Jeph Loeb claimed that Avenger assemble was going to be a continuation of Earth's mightiest heroes so he could get more viewership
