- Ayooo I know it's been a while guys, I meant for this video to be a quick five to ten minute one and done, but it just kinda kept stretching out longer and longer, and on top of that I had to buy a new PC right in the middle of making it, so it took quite a bit longer than I was expecting to get this bad boy out the door.

Tbh yuri is probably the most recognizable voices of spider-man I can think of, because you just know you heard a voice like that once and don’t know his name afterwards.
If you think about it, he’d basically already been playing Spidey for YEARS before he got the role…
That's because Yuri has been almost everywhere voice acting in a ton of projects before Spider-Man

For me it's Rino Romano. He just has that perfect comic book-y tone in his voice that captures the essence of a Spider-Man in his prime. He had the right amount of quips, serious moments and funny moments. He's the voice I hear whenever I read a Spider-Man comic. None of the other VAs who have done him have that "comic book" feel to Spidey. I hope Rino comes back one more time to voice the web-head in a game or show

Whenever I hear Rino's voice, I always think of Randy from the Godzilla 98 series, so I could never hear him as another character and not immediately think back to that. He changed it up a little bit as Batman though.
Fun fact about Sean Marquette’s performance in the Ultimate Spider-Man game, I’m fairly certain he was actually a teenager when he recorded his lines, as opposed to nearly all other Spidey voice actors. In my opinion, it brings a sense of authenticity to his performance, and it’s why I can’t help but hear his voice when I read the USM comics, though that might also be because I played that game for days on end when I was a kid.

One thing I always loved about NPH’s Spidey in TNAS as well as the entirety of how Peter/Spidey was portrayed in that series is that it’s a damn near perfect modernization of Lee/Ditko Peter’s personality. There’s a clear sense of maturity and intellectualism in the voice that’s quiet and yet still holds weight. In the show, The change in the voice between Peter and Spidey is noticeable but subtle enough to work within the story! I’m always a sucker for Lee/Ditko Peter, so it holds high in my ranking. It sucks that he had a huge arbitrary personality change when Romita took over as the artist and plot contributor.
As for Rino Romano, I’m so glad you gave him the credit he deserves! To me, his tone of voice is the bridge between Barnes’ intelligent side and Keaton’s wit. If he ever got more realistic dialogue to work with, it would outshine everything

Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton are my two definitive voices for Spider-Man because both of their portrayals for the web-head are just PERFECT to me.

I didn’t grow up with Spectacular Spider-Man so when I watched it recently, I expected Josh Keaton to be really overhyped, but he’s really really good. He and Yuri are my top two. I feel like both of them really nail different aspects and versions of the character. Probably the closest to definitive Spider-Man voice in my opinion.
I actually like Sean Marquette quite a bit. I did play Ultimate obsessively as a kid, so that might be why. I think in the moments where he’s not super whiny, he does a good job quipping and sounding like a young Peter. Definitely not my favorite though.

Sean Marquette is bit underrated in my personal opinion,that voice fit so well Ultimate Spider-Man in the game,and in the comic books Ultimate Peter was behaving impulsively like teenager does,while I was read Ultimate Spider-Man I heard Sean Marquette voice,so he is best as Ultimate Peter voice actor.

So far, the best voice actors that have voiced Spider-Man are Rino Romano, Dan Gilvazon, Josh Keaton, Yuri Lowenthal, James Arnold Taylor, and Christopher Daniel Barnes. Especially Sean Marquette, who did an "Ultimate" Job voicing Spider-Man from the Ultimate Spider-Man Video game. I just love the Ultimate Universe.
Worst is a harsh exaggeration at least they had the guts to be unique and one of a kind from any other Spider-Man adaptation and break the traditional and they have my respect for that

Barnes and Romano are my two definitive favorites. I hate that they seem to be relatively underrated in the sphere of Spider-Man voice acting, especially in Romano’s case. Barnes at least got the opportunity to voice Noir and 2099, as well as a few other characters including villains later on, and Romano did Spider-Man Unlimited, but it doesn’t really feel like they were given too many more chances beyond their original performances to really shine as Spider-Man.

Yuri is probably my favorite by a sliver. I met him recently at comic con and chatted with him for a while, his love for the character was very clear from our conversation, and he has a huge respect for the other actors that have played the role. Top notch guy.

Honestly, Toby's very dry performance in the games does lend them a certain comedic charm. I'm biased, but Christopher Daniel Barnes is GOATed for me. I loved TAS growing up and he'll always be the definitive voice of Spidey in my head.
And kudos to Rino for landing Spider-man, AND Batman VO roles.

I think Neil Patrick Harris is a great Spider-Man. I like how well he can pull of the jokes for Spider-Man. He sounds mature but also a bit cocky.
Christopher Daniel Barnes is a legendary Spider-Man and has some great voice acting parts like the Shocker scene and the emotional bit where Mj turns into water and dies.
Josh Keaton is really good aswell and obviously had a great series. I love his performance so much.

Barnes brought so much life and charm to his performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 90’s animated series and he’s how I picture Spider-Man would sound in the comics, he’s THAT good.
Maguire brought heart and life to his performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Raimi films and he is the most comic accurate to the original comics in my opinion, yeah he’s a bit more dorky than his comic counterpart but he still has his confidence and humbleness it’s just portrayed more realistically.

Josh Keatons performance as spider-man is by far my favorite. I grew up watching spectacular spiderman and I am forever pissed that it got cancelled. especially since it happened right after an insane plot twist 😂
I actually love the Ultimate Spider-Man game voice, like you said with the others, I can't read those books without hearing his voice, I think Ultimate Spider-Man is hot-headed and easily loses his cool, and can get pretty mean with his quips, and I think that voices fits a fifteen year old perfectly
I was more than a little frustrated when they didn't ask Rino Romano to come back for Shattered Dimensions; been waiting for him to come back ever since.
Fun fact... whenever I read comics, I hear Chris Barnes as Peter Parker, and Rino Romano as Scarlet Spider, because the Scarlet Spider is my favorite lol.
While I wish he came back for Shattered Dimensions, he voiced spidey more times than NPH and Dan, with his own games as well, so I think it's fair the others were given one more chance to solidify their roles, and I also think everyone were well casted (besides 2099), so I'm not sure which version of the character he would fit

Yuri us spidy for me. 100%. He has that mature and confident voice but it's all encompassed buy this sense of compassion which is spiderman down to his core.
Fun fact: Yuri Lowenthal voiced Spidey TWICE in games before his iconic Insomniac role. First in Marvel Pinball's Spider-Man table, and then in the mobile version of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
I'm curious if you considered The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin for Sega CD in this list. The Spidey isn't even credited there, so I understand why you'd skip it.

For Tobey you should've gone with his first game performance, he sounds half asleep there. His Spider-Man 3 voice acting is surprisingly good.

Yuri deserves to voice act spider-man in an animated spider-man movie or show, he gave so much to spider-man ps4, which is shown during his final battle with doctor octavius, especially during the two deliveries of "you knew?" One is confusion, the other is anger. He also nails tbe personality as peter parker, he acts more awkward as peter parker, as opposed to the confidence as spider-man. Yuri is the best one in my opinion.
James Arnold Taylor might’ve worked but I can only here him as Johnny Test which immediately throws me out of the moment
Honestly, Yuri’s performance here was so good it kinda made CN interfering with Ben’s character worth it! I mean, after the Highbreed arc his time as Ben was basically just training for this role.
Honestly, Mike Vaughn's Spider-Man voice has grown on me pretty strong. Especially from a video game standpoint, he's got the right voice expressions, and effort during alot of moments and there's something just so unique about his voice, not just as Spider-Man but as a video game character.

Honestly, Drake Bell is incredible for what the series is. His voice 100% suits what the show was going for. He’s easily S-Tier for that and if he wasn’t a pos, I’d like to see more of him voicing Spider-Man in more serious/better written stuff

Chris and tobey were my children and by far, my personal favorites. I was lucky enough to watch re-runs of Chris’s series on TV and had all of the dvd’s of Sam Ramis spider man. I loved the 3rd movie be it had the black suit. I always begged my mom to get me the black suit for Halloween. I could go on and on but that’s enough. It’s nice to remember the hood stuff in the bad past.
When I first heard Yuri lowenthal was gonna be the voice of Spider-Man in Spider-Man ps4, I was worried, cause for a brief period of time, I was not a fan of his voice performance. Anytime I heard him, I heard sasuke uchiha. And when he was a teenage Ben 10, I wasn’t a fan. HOWEVER, when I bought a copy and finally got around to playing Spider-Man PS4, I FELL IN LOVE with Yuri’s Spider-Man. His voice was young but mature at the same time, his dramatic delivery was solid, whenever he spoke regularly was solid, and whenever he made the quips and jokes, fricken hilarious. I especially love the spider-cop jokes. I can’t get enough of it 😂 but yeah, Yuri Lowenthal really won me over with his Spider-Man. 😁

Yuri was my favourite, he just pulled off the emotional anguish in the last few scenes with Doc Ock and Aunt May SO well without it coming across as overdone or cringy, he just pulled off the entire emotional range amazingly, he's definitely my favourite VA for Spider-Man
Drake Bell, to me, was actually doing a damn good job with what he was given. It's just a shame that he was given what he was given. It's like Roger Craig Smith as Sonic the Hedgehog. Does his best with the poor writing he was given

I loved 2005 ultimate Spider-Man’s voice, and I’m glad you ranked it high even if you didn’t actually like the voice because it’s an excellent performance, much better than drake bell’s ultimate 💀
To me:
Josh Keaton's spiderman sounded perfect for cartoonish or arcade spiderman cuz it really felt like watching an animated show or arcade game but like his calm voice didn't hit the spot like him being peter parker or him having the black suit as well taking it off. His quips sounded suitable for Miles Morales rather than Peter Parker.
Yuri Lowenthal's spiderman however sounded perfect for movie like or live action voice for both peter parker and spiderman. In fact his voice can go hand in hand with Ryan Reynolds's Deadpool really. Considering it's peter parker, his quips suits him and i can definitely see only peter can pull cringe and annoying quips such as his.

I didn't even realise that Jake Johnson didn't voice the Chris's Pine Peter. That makes me appreciate Chris's Peter even more. I loved how enthusiastic he was and his little "i'm so tired" when he was fighting th prowler.

Josh Keaton has my heart. He was my Spider-Man growing up. I do LOVE CDB,NPH & Rino Romano too. I mean,Rino Romano also voiced a pretty good Batman in The Batman series.

My favourites bar non have to be Christopher Daniel Barnes, Josh Keaton & Yuri. I loved CDB as noir in shattered dimensions & keaton in spectacular is just chefs kiss. Im still getting a bit accustomed to Yuri at times but he was phenomenal in Spiderman PS4

My favorite is easily neil. He adds a certain subtlety that most vouce actors miss, Even the goat josh keaton. He changes his tone when he's peter parker vs Spider-Man. His voice is the one i hear when i read the books most times. Although i think his performance in shattered dimensions is pretty weak.
Side note: i think marquettes voice fits ULTIMATE peter very well, since he's a whiny bitch for his entire run lol

My personal opinion: I say Yuri Lowenthal is the definitive Peter Parker voice. Just as Kevin Conroy is Batman, Mark Hamill as Joker, Steve Blum as Wolverine, etc., Yuri honestly is engraved into the voice of Peter.
I love Josh but personally, I think there’s many reasons to why many of us loves Yuri as Peter. But I can say a few reasons why I think (and some) can say he works perfectly.
1. He portrays a more adult version of the character. One that balances his life out. Without a doubt, his best performance is in the PlayStation games. He actually voiced Peter Parker 5 times before and 2 times after Insomniac Games (he did Ultimate Alliance 3 and the new Revolution app game). And to many of us, we’re so sick and tired of Peter being in high school and tired of the debate between Tobey, Andrew, and Tom. We feel Insomniac’s take especially with Yuri’s voice is what defines Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. Arguably, he beats all three live action actors because he shows us who is Spider-Man rather than people TRYING to be Spider-Man.
2. Josh Keaton is talented. But he works better more as a teenage Spidey. Yuri can do any age for Peter if you think about it. After all, many of his roles involves young characters throughout his acting character. But when he shines an older Peter, it truly fits because that’s where he’s at his prime AND where Peter is at his prime.
3. His puns and quips are actually good. There’s so many to listen to that are considered “bad.” I won’t say he makes each one perfect but there’s too many that are good. The good that outweighs the bad. And tbh, his humor actually is better than even Andrew and Tom’s humors, they actually feel like Spider-Man making jokes than a jerk or Iron Boy trying his best.

I feel like Jake and Chris should also have the recency bias should apply to them like Yuri. They all made their big debut at practically the same exact time, so its not exactly fair to only apply it to Yuri. Also I wish people would talk about episode 25 of season 1 Ultimate Spider-Man. Drake did such an amazing job with Peter trying desperately to not give in to his anger against Goblin.
I find it hard to rank them because Spider-Man as a character and how he was perceived was constantly changing. So I can’t tell if the voice is bad or if it just more accurate to how Spider-Man seemed at the time. (My personal favorite is Jake Johnson though)
