I recently bought a 2015 Nissan Sentra SR last June and it has been very nice with MPG. I get usually get 30 MPG or higher. I respect Nissan a lot for this and these day it's only $25 for a full tank . Love the sentra!!
+zeid ashabi Well too bad you didn't wait for the Scion iA video I am posting in 2 weeks--37-46 mpg and only $17,500. The best small car I have ever driven--but it is made by Mazda so I would expect it to be good.
chad haire I looked into the scion that New one looks a lot uglier then the sentra and smaller but what actually happened to the sentra on the first beginning of the video I'm just curious I have the same exact one
As a Nissan service technician I work on and service these little sentra’s quit a bit and they don’t seem to have many issues at all, I’ve only performed the normal oil changes and cvt transmission fluid changes and basic maintenance stuff and I have worked at the dealership for almost 7 years, I’m in fact impressed enough to possibly buy one within a few weeks to replace my 2017 Ford Focus Titanium hatchback due to the transmission issues and tcm module failure I keep having with it .
I actually got the Corolla, but chose the S plus package. While the engine is the same at 1.8 , the appearance is much more sporty on the S. rear spoiler, chrome exhaust, more aggressive front grill, very nice factory rims.
I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra. My car gets up and go without any problems. I have driven my car with white pants and I didn’t get dirt on them when I was getting in and out the car.
chad haire I have driven a Corolla about 800 miles in all conditions. I like the CVT. It takes some time to adjust from a regular auto. I have driven a 4 speed Toyota auto for 15 years. I like the CVT myself. Depends on each person. Thanks for the reviews.
chad haire Well like I said in the video both cars got 23 city and 34/35 highway. Perhaps that is why that Sentra was torched--not by a car jacker but the owner who didn't like the mileage!!
chad haire I have only put 1200 miles on 2015 LE with CVT in 3 months. It has been about 90% city and 10% highway (mostly city). 33.7 I have calculated my mileage the old fashioned way. Miles driven divided by the gallons I add. The owners manual says not to depend on the readouts in the car. Use them as an estimate. 33.7 is pretty good. My readouts in the car read 31.5, so they might be off as much as 2 MPG. I have liked the car. I also like the CVT which I didn't expect. I would now rather have CVT than a 4 speed. I will never get another manual transmission. FYI Good review. Remember 33.7 real mileage) vs 31.5 what the car is telling me.
nate42nd Well remember BOTH cars had low readouts, and while I did not use a calculator to get the exact mileage, I did run the tanks dry and the mileage was close enough. Even with your error -- at best the 23 mpg I got would only improve to 25 which is still bad for both cars. Judging from the complaints on the web about mileage I think there is a more serious issue here. And I HATE these CVT boxes. They do not really give better mileage in the real world unless you baby the gas pedal. If you are in a hurry, the engine just spins, and the car doesn't move, certainly not helping mileage. But to each their own.
There is a reason why automakers add those "shelves" as you call them. Usually it's to give the car a sportier appearance, and it gives a flat surface on which highlights are reflected. It makes the lower portion of the car more visually interesting and sometimes it can be used to tie the front and rear bumpers, if they have lower extensions. It's only cosmetics though and serves no functional purpose (unless you're looking at real "steps" on trucks and vans, but those are different). It's nice of you to point out that detail since no one else talks about it.
MiniCactuar They should talk about it because these things need to go away. They should also test the headlights at night but it appears I am the only one.
chad haire agree, and if i may suggest one more information can be interesting.something about prices of oil services during the warranty and interval between changes.
I forgot if you already mention this in your videos, but rear quarter visibility is becoming an issue and should be shown in videos. With more cars and crossovers opting for coupe styling it makes the rear visiblity terrible, especially around the D pillar.
I have a 2014 Corolla LE Eco automatic and it is great. I would recommend it if you want economy and reliability. The best MPG I've gotten, during a drive from Las Vegas to San Diego, was 37.5. Take note that I wasn't really driving it efficiently and had a trunk full of luggage with 4 passengers and l. The Eco version has more horsepower than the L/S models and is surprisingly pretty fast. I've beaten Altimas, Passats, Jettas and almost anything in it's class. The fastest I'd gone in it was 120mph on straightaway before having to slow down so I won't get a speeding ticket. Overall, I'd say it is better than anything in it's class and will allow you to put 200K+ miles on it with no problem. I hope this helps.
Joshua Duenas Did you say this is a CVT automatic or 4-speed. I too had the 2014 model with CVT, and it got 32-37. But this 2015 got 23-34. And from what i am seeing on the web many are getting this mileage and not happy. I will take the manual.
Hey Chad, it's a CVT Auto. I don't know if they changed anything to the transmission/engine for the newer models, but that would suck if they're being robbed of the fuel economy that we're getting from ours. All the reviews I watch on UA-cam say the CVT is sluggish, but I don't experience that much. I live in Las Vegas and blast all the time the A/C and the worst Gas Mileage rating I've ever gotten was 27 mpg combined.
@@J.Nev. I have a 2017 Prius 2 now and on the highway that sucker hauls ass for only having a combined 121 hp between the electric/gas engines. Don't be surprised if you see a Gen 4 Prius pass you on the freeway. I've put a lot of vehicles and trucks to shame with a "sluggish hybrid" when they decide to try me.
I love the fact that I can get the nissan as a manual. In a small car like that I don't care about backup camera or gps. As long as there's bluetooth for my phone I'm good. Another thing that annoys me about other cars is all the stupid buttons for the climate control. Just give me a knob for the temp, a knob for the fan I'm happy. I hate how that CVT sounds. If it was a normal automatic it would at least be ok. Nothing like a manual for a small car like that.
Wow, I could get a base Subaru for less than the Sentra. By over 3 grand. 19 grand? Woah. Motor sounded rough. I would go Corolla, I had one through a rental agency and quite liked it. If I was on a budget, I would get a base Nissan Versa under 10 grand. For under 15 grand, the Corolla (which should be doable with a nice entry level model) . I thought the Corolla drove well and I liked the dash. The outside looks good too. 34 mpg is poor. Many mid size sedans exceed that, our 2016 Forester CVT gets about 32 mpg with AWD.
Steve W Wrong. By going to the S you are replacing a comfortable suspension with a stiff & noisy sport suspension, replacing the nice 6-speed manual tranny with that crap CVT -- unless you order the sport deluxe pack, then you are spending as much money as a 4-cylinder Camry. And the idea of making the Corolla a "sporty' anything is like making a silk purse out of a sows ear. The base Corolla with 6-speed manual is the best way to go.
Steve W Ask a mechanic, any real mechanic. Drum brakes are literally not an issue. They're easy as fuck to work on and you're buying a corolla. Don't expect a car that needs disc brakes. If you care that much then buy it and replace the drums for disk brakes so you can paint them red and show your homeboys how you're a pretty cool dude.
the only thing I don't like about your reviews is the fact that you're always complaining about rubbing your leg on the outside of car door getting your pant leg dirty
Since Renault took over Nissan they’re started to make the most horrible cars ever. They’re CVT’s are made by JATCO which are notorious for being absolute trash transmissions because they breaking down all the time and the are very expensive to repair. If you want a car that will never let you down (if you give it some love from time to time: get a Corolla. They can last a lifetime. Super durable and the parts are reasonably priced. Nissan used to make great cars. Today, not so much anymore.
Cool Blue Paint Job........................ you have to be kidding me. It looks like a Nissan Ultima so that's a good selling point....... OMG This guy must drive a 1970 Austin 1100 if he thinks these are well built and are good cars. Why the hell does it have a 'Sport' button????
Nissan has reliability issues and quality control issues. I’d go Toyota. The CVT is going to be reliable in the Toyota, not the Nissan. Toyota has been making CVT in the Prius for 20 years practically.
I have a 2015 nissan sentra sr and I love it I've had it for a little over 2 years and I haven't had any problems so im happy

Nissan JATCO trannys are no good either....
I want a 17-19 Corolla SE. I like the way it looks!
I actually got the Corolla, but chose the S plus package. While the engine is the same at 1.8 , the appearance is much more sporty on the S. rear spoiler, chrome exhaust, more aggressive front grill, very nice factory rims.
I gave a thumps up and subbed for your channel because of your hard work. Good work.
+Mostafa Badrawy I have many other videos to watch but I can't afford to burn any more Nissan's!
I have a 2015 Nissan Sentra. My car gets up and go without any problems. I have driven my car with white pants and I didn’t get dirt on them when I was getting in and out the car.
Nissan sentra look better but the Corolla drives better.
Sentra looks better than Corolla!
Goru Minosyan Before or after it has been set on fire?
chad haire I've seen both car up close. Sentra has better body styling and looks chunkier in person. The Corolla looks like a rental car.
Goru Minosyan They are both rental cars--trust me. I said in the video the Sentra looked like the more expensive Nissans so you should be happy.
Don't I just love Sentra!!!!!
I owned a nissan sentra 2014 model for 8 years now i love it i have the S model
Cool review, I liked the light-hearted comments.
+Lukard Yagami have 142 videos to watch
Just a note. JATCO makes Nissan Sentra CVTs. AISIN makes Toyota Corolla CVTs. Model year 2015. Just thought someone might want to know.

nate42nd Both cars with CVT got 23 mpg in the city which is absurd. With 6-speed manual I got 30+. Take your gas mileage then get back with us.

These videos are old--I have done 300 more since this...
I hope you realize these MPG counters on the cars are not exact, on my Sentra (same year), its off by 3 MPG when I calculate via distance/mpg
The Sentra is much better looking and seems more substantial than the Corolla.
Is that before or after is was torched? LOL
It’s not. In fact many owners complain about the quality. The Corolla is a big step up in quality and in reliability.
Not true

How come my nissan would not have a touch screen like this sentra...??
dont know
You may have a different trim. Only SL comes with a touch screen.
@@dancestacydance nope, SV and SR comes with touch screen like what he reviewed
Nissan uses their own Jatco CVT. Toyota also makes their own and doesn’t use Nissans CVT.
The "S" Toyota really should be considered as it is the only Corolla model with 4 wheel disc brakes, the others have rear drums.
Steve W Wrong. more than adequate

It is called a defect. that is what a car review is suppose to show.
Sounds like you're stuck on first gear when accelerating on the nissan horrible sound
CVT transmissions are horrible overall--a deal killer for me..
I have a CVT on my corolla and it works just fine for some reason its only Nissan who can't make a good CVT transmission
I'm sure on a 93 degree day you got the air conditioning blasting the whole time. that will hurt MPG.
not that much
Sentra has a sport mode to make fake shifts go SeNtRa
نيسان سنترا افضل في الثبات والتحكم
