I’m quite happy that you have positive experiences at the doctors and dentist. These 2 experiences you share is very important. The confidence you have to open up about your personal struggles and needing accommodations is very inspiring. Yeah it’s a gamble whether people will take you seriously and help to make the experience better but it’s way better to speak out and give it a chance than doing nothing and masking. The nurse you mentioned is also very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Great video Molly.. Really important to make people aware they’re able to have accommodations/ adjustments - it actually legal duty under the Equality Act. I think the biggest problem is not believing you will be listened and the anxiety about what will happen if you speak up. What I have learned is that if I stop wasting energy on worrying about the consequences and just ask, I (especially in health care setting) have found people to be genuinely helpful. Keep up the good work Molly 👍🏼

Can relate to the dentist, had been trying for like 10 years now to get them to help fix my teeth but they just gatekeep and offer no real support and this is over a couple of dental practices. I've been fobbed off so many times by dentists that I end up going through a cycle of trying to fix my oral hygiene, work with the dentist, then the dentist accuse me of not doing enough so they won't help fix my teeth which puts me into a depression so I give up and eventually try again a year or so later. Worse thing is if they just did the thing I asked, it would improve my confidence which would improve my life which would improve my mood and Id be able to maintain my health better but hey, there appears to be no logical thinking in the health care industry sometimes so I'm not even surprised anymore>.

I 100% get you! A dentist once asked me "What actually happened that was that bad to have poor dental hygiene ?" 😳I didn't go back, that was 5 years ago, I am trying to find a private dentist but they are just as bad, especially because all they want is your money. ☹

@@nene-b6p Yep, I'm actually convinced they kept gatekeeping me so they could keep sending me to the hygienist so they could bill the NHS for more sessions, the hygienist was the only person who was supportive and couldn't really understand why they kept fobbing me off >.< I think if I ever try again I need a advocate :

The key to accommodations is to ask for REASONABLE accommodations. For instance, extra time to complete exams or assignments. The accommodation you got here with having a supportive person in the room to help you feel better I think is a reasonable accommodation. An example of an UNreasonable accommodation request would be a delusional intact male demanding to see a gynecologist when he doesn't have a cervix or suing a ladies spa when they won't wax his nuts.
What's your diet like since you're getting B12 shots? Usually vegetarians/vegans are super deficient in B12, iron, protein, and fat. We get B12 from animal products. Since you take ADHD meds, I know they can kill your appetite, so I'm guessing that it's probably more related to not eating enough during the day. Have you tried increasing your intake of red meat to boost your B12?

Please, don’t be put off. I’m not sure what to do. I’m not asking you to do anything but i need out of the US. Idk, I want to be your friend that would be extremely cool. Oh, I’m a fully recovered neurotypical genius. I’m not crazy weirdo. I’m a little crazy but not too weird
