  • Trauma often leads to negative core beliefs which can turn into our identity. Identifying these negative core beliefs and addressing them in a way that is helpful "enough" allows us to feel better about ourselves and enjoy our lives! Our brain will argue against affirmations, so the reasonably stated positive belief can become more ingrained.

    I'm still having trouble understanding why I could move on in 1 day after almost being helplessly murdered by a guy in a public restroom (and almost choked to death), yet having saliva go into the wind pipe while driving one day has practically given me severe PTSD, possibly equivilent to war ptsd, and haven't been able to move on for over a year now. It's driving me nuts, as crazy as it sounds but has ruined my life. Can't even afford therapy now.
