This video meant so much to me. My family and I are going through something similar right now. Illinois has always been home to us. A year and a half ago, we moved to Florida. We love Florida - but it just doesn't fit. It's not home. It's like we are trying to force it. So - we are in the midst of finding our way back to the midwest. Thanks for this.
I just got down to Florida almost a year ago. I love it. It took a bit to adjust and make friends but I can absolutely understand it’s not for everyone

Same for me...lived in Illinois and Chicago area all my life and been in socal for last 3 years and I still feel like a tourist. I want to go back but the access to outdoors is too good here.
This made me oddly emotional and I’m not entirely sure why. All I can say is thank you Casey for never ceasing telling the most beautiful stories. New York has missed you. Welcome back
Chills!! Never gets old, just keeps on getting better and better!! The story-telling, the cinematography, the quality, hands up!! Always something to look up and forward to!
Actually watching it i was thinking the exact opposite, no one could tell a 2 minute story i.e “we realised we’re not happy so we moved back to the place where we found ourselves” in 12 minutes and still leave me wanting more
Welcome back - in New York and on UA-cam. So glad you're back. After this video I am so motivated to reach my goals and dreams like I wasn't a long time. Thank you!
Yea I agree, when I was last watching you, I was living in a hostel with a rack sack of clothes and a bad drug habit, your videos got me through some bad times, now it’s nice to watch your videos again as a family man job, clean and looking forward to starting a business, and you helped with that process without even knowing it. Thank you and god bless glad you back in NYC.
Back to NYC, back to vlogging, back to happy Candace. The fact that this happening on the cusp of a recession.....this is definitely gonna be a fun and interesting "back to the future" next chapter.

*Man, that nostalgia feeling starting to kick in while watching this, reminds me of good old casey's vlogs, got goosebumps in the end, good to have you back Casey.*
I don’t know why but the walk into the studio , dropping the boosted board and walking up to the camera and smiling made me feel at peace like everything is going to be ok now 💙. Welcome back Brotha.
I have only ever lived in California, have never been to New York, but have been in love with it all of my life, and I feel like I perfectly get what you are saying, because seeing him walk into the studio gave me that same feeling💯
He’s back, baby! The photography, the editing, the music, and most importantly, the storytelling - all the elements that make Casey’s movies the best are here in spades. By far, my favorite upload to the channel in years! A journey episode is always an ambitious take, but this one is a home run. Capping it with breaking the news to Marlon was all that much sweeter.
This is an incredibly compelling travel vlog. It's insane how good Casey is at making movies. The drone shots of his own car driving, the consistency with which he filmed himself filling up gas, and all of the state welcome signs.... It feels like Casey is back, for real this time.
Now that is storytelling... To help the audience along with the change, he drove the audience across the country. It wasn't a flight. It wasn't a cut in LA and bam in we're in New York. It was honouring the audience's need to change the setting too. And because those things are gradual in life, he gradually took us back. Love the thought you put into this Casey!
@@MatthewHyatt because this comment is not the type to be somewhere in the top and nobody will see my comment as it’s somewhere in the sea of thousands of comments so by commenting under all the top comments people are more likely to see it and I can get some answers
@@derekrobertson60388 it’s for the reason he stated, it’s unexplainable. I grew up and live in NYC and going anywhere in and out of the country all I do over and over is compare how inept things are or how much sense they lack compared to NYC. NYC is just so good, every city/state has its political stuff and crime and NYC is definitely dirty and littered but it has so much to offer that you learn to look passed it all.
The one message I've gotten from countless hours of Casey's content is the idea that you need to be true to yourself. I'm so happy Casey continues to practice what he preaches. Congratulations on the move!
This guy is an absolutely cinematograph genius, I believe the raw style of vlogging he created is simple yet at the same time so elaborate and true to himself that it will never me mimicked. Great to have you back casey.
It also takes an unbelievable amount of planning and filming to get to this, to get the shots matching the music so perfectly. Beautiful video once again.
I absolutely love this story, Casey! I haven't checked into your channel in a while, so I had no idea you moved back to NYC. Your story reminded me of what a remarkable filmmaker you are, and the variety of shots you captured along your trip is truly inspiring. Having made a similar move from California to NYC in my youth and then settling in LA, where I've been for 25 years, I can relate to that enduring feeling of returning to the bustling streets of New York City. Both cities hold a special place in my heart, and I'm overjoyed that you found your way back to share another one of your captivating stories with all of us. Thank you for your talent and dedication.
The one thing that gets me with Casey’s vlogs isn’t just the editing, the style or the cinematography. It’s his eloquence and honesty when talking to camera. You feel like you’re in that moment and sharing the experience. Great guy and a genuine filmmaker. NYC’s favourite son has returned ❤️👍🏻🇬🇧
That production value is just unbelievable. Some of those shots are so insane that you almost take them for granted. I watched it normally and my brain went, "Hold up was that a drone shot over a highway?" Crazy.

I don’t get why so many people are moving to NYC and those who have left are now returning. What is it about NYC that attracts so many people than other cities?
I only discovered Casey a few weeks ago, and I’m still not even sure what his whole vibe is or what his channel is about, but I love it. Maybe that’s the point… He’s just sharing life as he goes through it and we never know what to expect? Either way, the quality of these videos is INSANE and the moments in them are extremely relatable. Well done Mr. Neistat.
I started watching him pre-pandemic he was like the quintessential NYC: loving video making guy I mean everybody knew him when he would ride his boosted board through town I liked his videos a lot I’m glad they moved back they belong in NYC I do too I’m moving back next year
An absolute artist in filming. Complete dedication to the art. I appreciate every little shot you take Casey, and the amazing editing. UA-cam's never felt the same ever since you left New York.
It's incredible how a video from someone you've never met, with whom you have almost nothing in common, can make you FEEL so much. That's art. I learned that from Van. Thank you both!
Welcome back. I've been a viewer/subscriber to your Chanel and when you left to LA it wasn't the same. Your technique was there your humor was there but in LA it didn't feel the same. So much after awhile didn't care for your Chanel anymore. Now you're back where you belong NYC and meant to be. Where your creativity will continue to flow and people love your work. I know I'm just one viewer out of millions you have but I felt the difference and so glad you moved back. Look forward again to your fun, creative, inciteful videos. Thanks a Casey. Welcome back. honestly finally seeing Casey so inspired and back where he feels whole, got me so inspired into doing the things that I love and taking the chances, bc otherwise we are not living, not truly
My Canadian version of this was going from Toronto to Calgary then back to Toronto 😂. Something about walking through a city thats walkable, alive with music art and beautiful multicultural life going on all around you can really change your lifestyle. It was hard getting Calgarians to understand the feeling since most of them think that all Toronto is the CN Tower and Dundas square, similar to how people outside NYC think it's only times square and forget about the beautiful residential neighbourhoods that are packed in density. Toronto proper, inspired me through the beautiful vibrant walkable neighbourhoods like St Clair west, Little Italy, Greektown, The beaches, Queen West, Midtown, High Park, Korea Town, Korea Town North, Little Jamaica, Liberty Village, Little Portugal, Roncesvalles, Cabbage Town, Riverdale, Mount pleasant and way more, all connected to streetcars and subways! Calgary is similar to L.A for the reason it is very car centric with wide roads, suburban sprawl, bad zoning laws, and smaller pockets of density spread out through long car rides. Cities like L.A, Huston, Atlanta, Calgary are so bad in urban design that I strongly believe it has a negative effect on the human spirit of creative people. This is coming from someone who knows how it is to live as a suburbanite.
Closest thing that comes close for me is that I live on the west coast (born in Vancouver, but I live in Nanaimo) and move back and forth between Edmonton for school. I got used to it faster than I expected and it’s a perfectly serviceable city. Whenever I have visited Quebec though, I just can’t see myself ever living there, and not just because of all the French. The city (and a large portion of people as well) just seems so miserable and decrepit. I’ll stick to the west I think
I know what you mean. Last March 2023 I went up to Toronto to see if I can catch some snow since we didn't get any in NYC. My first day there a snowstorm came in the evening by 7 pm. It lasted until around 2 am. I went out walking in the snow with my Go Pro out in Toronto Chinatown just taking videos. Short walk from my Marriott Hotel near city hall down Dundas put me right into the heart of Chinatown. Lots of snow.

The fuck bro. I live in Illinois too and i just wanna get the hec outta here
You have one life, if where you are doesn't feel like home go where you feel content.
Congrats man! 👏
Casey is back in NYC; nature is healing.
EDIT: man, the boosted board, the studio and Marlon. those last 30 seconds almost made my cry.
All is right with the world again!
Yo. Same. The feels were real.
I'm crying right now! What an end... that is a beginning
Same. So happy for you guys. YES!
I’m crying tears of joy right now
This made me oddly emotional and I’m not entirely sure why. All I can say is thank you Casey for never ceasing telling the most beautiful stories. New York has missed you. Welcome back
Chills!! Never gets old, just keeps on getting better and better!! The story-telling, the cinematography, the quality, hands up!! Always something to look up and forward to!
I’ve never been able to find another creator who can tell what could be a 30-40 minute story in less than 12 minutes like you can. A pure joy to watch
But youtube is now full of creators who have copied Casey or who have been 'inspired' by him, as he's been a force on youtube for more than 10 years
@@dejavu011 for sure he’s been an inspiration for loads of incredible creators but he’s not quite been matched for me
yeah ok
Actually watching it i was thinking the exact opposite, no one could tell a 2 minute story i.e “we realised we’re not happy so we moved back to the place where we found ourselves” in 12 minutes and still leave me wanting more
This!
I’m 99% sure you let me borrow that Versace shirt at one point haha
Give it me afterwards pls
Hello mr Beast 😎
I still haven’t got a reply yet on MrBeast Jobs btw
You should have burned it 😂
Welcome back - in New York and on UA-cam. So glad you're back. After this video I am so motivated to reach my goals and dreams like I wasn't a long time. Thank you!
Everyone smiled when he walked back into that studio, fact, best video of 22
I sure did! 😊
Every episode with Marlon is a good episode, he's such a bright source of energy!
Everyone needs a guy like Marlon in their life!!! He's so genuinely nice!
It's not an NYC video without Marlon, truly!
Every episode with Marlon is a good episode.
He’s such a bright source of energy
Hi spammer bot
Yea I agree, when I was last watching you, I was living in a hostel with a rack sack of clothes and a bad drug habit, your videos got me through some bad times, now it’s nice to watch your videos again as a family man job, clean and looking forward to starting a business, and you helped with that process without even knowing it. Thank you and god bless glad you back in NYC.
I literally got chills when he walked back into the old studio.
Back to NYC, back to vlogging, back to happy Candace.
The fact that this happening on the cusp of a recession.....this is definitely gonna be a fun and interesting "back to the future" next chapter.
Exactly!!!
and the shot before that, passing by with the board, and tilting up to the skyscrapers...that was some movie type "im back" shit
Me too!!! I thought I was the only one. It’s like his studio was just waiting for him to come back, to come alive again!
Appreciate Casey’s filming skills
Wonderful 👌 nyc superb very amazing 👍👍👌👌
Nice
Nice
Thumbs up
Nice
Casey meeting up with Marlan made me tear up. Their friendship is wonderful and I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed Casey NYC videos. I’m SO glad you’re back!!!
Something inside of me genuinely feels more joy again... fell younger, fell more happy, thank u Casey.
Yes. Like you felt a good friend was back home in the ‘hood you both grew up in ❤️
Heavy nostalgia
Made me tear up
I have only ever lived in California, have never been to New York, but have been in love with it all of my life, and I feel like I perfectly get what you are saying, because seeing him walk into the studio gave me that same feeling💯
I had the same exact thought when I got the notification that he posted. The return of quality cinematography.
Nostalgia just hit me like a freaking train. This felt like a full-on time capsule kicking me to a completely different time in my life.
same here!!!
+1 :)
dang this comment is spot on!
Thank you, Marlon, for expressing exactly how we all feel about Casey’s return to the city.
“If you are not changing, you are not pushing yourself hard enough.” Love that.
The best part of this video is how happy Marlon is. God bless that man.
the goat.
Greatest ever cameo
Yes!!!! I was waiting for it.
Ending was so wholesome! Any vlog with Marlon is immediately a great vlog!
This is an incredibly compelling travel vlog. It's insane how good Casey is at making movies. The drone shots of his own car driving, the consistency with which he filmed himself filling up gas, and all of the state welcome signs.... It feels like Casey is back, for real this time.
It seems like he's the only one on the journey.
How the hell did he capture drone of his own car while driving lol??!
@@Zer0-0 DJI has tracking software in there drones think it’s called active track
I don’t get why so many people are moving to NYC and those who have left are now returning
@@MatthewHyatt because this comment is not the type to be somewhere in the top and nobody will see my comment as it’s somewhere in the sea of thousands of comments so by commenting under all the top comments people are more likely to see it and I can get some answers
yeah but like he also needed his car so it makes sense
@@derekrobertson60388 it’s for the reason he stated, it’s unexplainable. I grew up and live in NYC and going anywhere in and out of the country all I do over and over is compare how inept things are or how much sense they lack compared to NYC. NYC is just so good, every city/state has its political stuff and crime and NYC is definitely dirty and littered but it has so much to offer that you learn to look passed it all.
think he had to move the car
Casey is the only filmmaker who can put two Legos together and bring a tear to your eye... We missed you man 😎
Facts!
Nah.
not true!! i would not cry if he put 2 legos together. I hope he starts documenting the size of his dumps, that would be so rad! right fellas!?
We’ve never met but I’m still unreasonably happy to know you and Candice are still together. Congrats on 8 years🎉
The one message I've gotten from countless hours of Casey's content is the idea that you need to be true to yourself. I'm so happy Casey continues to practice what he preaches. Congratulations on the move!
Man, I didn't realise how much I missed these videos!!! Casey, you are a storyteller! Please start posting again, even if it's once a week.
Have just discovered this dude. His videos are amazing.
This guy is an absolutely cinematograph genius, I believe the raw style of vlogging he created is simple yet at the same time so elaborate and true to himself that it will never me mimicked. Great to have you back casey.
But an insane amount of editing.
This shot of the rear tracking shot at 8:14 of the car coming up over the hill while the drone remained level was epic.
Well put Paul!
@@cornercarverfan cheers buddy. Straight from the ❤️
Ya totally agre and them 10 min fells like 1 hour "movie"
That production value is just unbelievable. Some of those shots are so insane that you almost take them for granted. I watched it normally and my brain went, "Hold up was that a drone shot over a highway?" Crazy.
Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who has faith in him. True faith in Jesus will have you bear good fruit and *drastically* change for the better! Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness.
God is three in one; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him!
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
So glad you're back, Casey. You belong in NYC!
Neistat.
I started watching him pre-pandemic he was like the quintessential NYC: loving video making guy I mean everybody knew him when he would ride his boosted board through town I liked his videos a lot
I’m glad they moved back they belong in NYC I do too I’m moving back next year
Go back to the beginning and watch the apple exposé and the cycle lanes videos if you haven't already, classic Casey 🌞
That was the initial point of vloging. Casey is Vlog King!
Its incredible how a comment from someone ...
van who?

"Home is about a place that makes you feel like you. It's about finding a location where you just fit."
Thank you for this.
...my fam been feeling this for awhile. Home is community and community is home.
@@mhalsmith Agreed!
A humble viewer.
You're still the best storyteller on UA-cam and have the ability to evoke emotion through content creation.
“No I’m not crying, I’m crying on the inside” the most Candice thing Candice has ever said
@Who knows ✨no✨
@Who knows you really gonna criticize someone’s emotional, raw, unfiltered reaction to moving? I’m not gonna go ahead and label your behaviour like that but I have a few things that come to mind just from your critical comment… so, uh, keep the self-hate to ya self then
I don’t see Casey’s videos as vlogs, i see them as art. It is unbelievable that a 11 minute video can be so incredibly good. Wishing you and your family the best in NYC.
honestly finally seeing Casey so inspired and back where he feels whole, got me so inspired into doing the things that I love and taking the chances, bc otherwise we are not living, not truly
Couldn’t have been happier for you guys, New York will forever be your city ❤
Probably the best story teller on UA-cam. Really really hoping you start making more videos Casey!!
Marlin is the highlight of the whole video for me, glad your back where you feel yourself the most.
Calgary is worse than Toronto in urban design? 🤔
I grew up in calgary, and agree. It's a soul sucking city, with almost no pros.
Marlans pure joy has always inspired me ever since I started watching your vlogs 10 years ago today when I was 13. He’s a true gem Casey never stop including him in your videos.
I must say that marlon is a great source of energy every video with him just makes my day!!
True❤️
"If you're not changing, you're not pushing yourself hard enough." love it.
I need to get into that vibe.
I low key hate change coz most times it changes the good times as well. But i still seek great things

Nobody can tell a story the way Casey can. Each episode is a work of art by itself. The master is back!
Absolutely !
No question!
Van neistat certainly can.
@@THETANKGINGER the spirited man certainly has his style, but I always see something new in a dynamic environment with Casey. It's amazing how he shoots this much himself!
