Ezra being fearless to go up against someone with a lightsaber. With nothing but the force says a lot about his growth. Being alone that long had to take a toll on him. I’m sure the way he stayed sane is by concentrating on the force. He prolly saw way more through the force than the series showed us. I think while he still seems like his goofy self. He’s prolly super wise in the force. I hope he trains jayson

Great analysis. It brings to mind Quigon in his very “pure” Jedi mindset of being “one with the force”. The combat side may not be to knight level but he is a Jedi through and through with his reliance and connection with the force.

id like to think that some of these new ppl being introduced dont go the "traditional" route to be a jedi. the series does focus on the "bokkan" trained(non traditional) and with grogu deciding not to go with luke i see others doing the same plus its time for the rebels to be masters themselves. ahsoka will train sabin and ezra in lightsaber and ezra will train jayson in the force. @@Sugaranch

In fact the Bendu thought his attachment to the Jedi/sith cults and their trinkets was limiting to the force. He might have taken heed with his time without a lightsaber to take a much broader view and learn to survive with just the force. He might be a better force user than a lot of Jedis by now! 👍

I love your channel but Ezra shows far more signs of being a consular given how much he connects with the Force and its mysteries in ways far more diverse than regular combatants (crossing between worlds to save Ahsoka; communing with animals; and as of just now using pure force power against a lightsaber wielder). His entire arc was literally taking Thrawn away not by brute-force but by connecting so deeply with the force in unorthodox ways he managed to get animals to take him to a whole different Galaxy.

Great breakdown. But I don't think Ezra refusing the lightsaber showed ignorance. If anything, it's really practical given the fact that he hasn't touched one in 10years and has had to survive on this world without. Over time, you get accustomed to what you have, which is the Force. And we can all surmise that he's done some sort of self training like going over old lessons him and Kanan use to do together. Kanan gave Ezra the tools to teach himself because that's how he had to learn after Order 66. In the same breath though, part of me believes that Ezra connection to the Force is stunted, whether by his own doing or something else causing it. And I also believe he has stopped relying on the Dark Side of the Force for aid because none of the attacks he did against the Night Troopers felt as dark as he was when he was using it, like how he controlled that AT-ST Pilot.

Ezra is further along the way of being like Yoda or Palpatine, capable of using a saber but understanding the force is the wisest resource to depend on. Also I believe the intention of the show is to show Ezra is particularly powerful in the force since he has shown the most impressive force feats of anyone in the show and has obviously been able to survive and kill a small army of troopers without his saber. Even Ahsoka is using her sabers against opponents she could trivialize with the force and just doesn't. I disagree with the will of crystals theory just because the lore has been inconsistent about it.

  • @samuelrobles3737
    @samuelrobles3737 Рік тому +39

I wholeheartedly disagree. Ezra has abandoned the way of a headstrong warrior-soldier and has become closer to a warrior monk, who has learned to bring forth the deepest power without the need of a weapon. A lightsaber can strengthen a person's connection to the force but it is not required to do so. Ezra has spent the last ten years learning to use the force as the old force users once did, deepening his bond to it and learning to use it more adeptly for hand to hand combat. This can ultimately be seen in a display of power that has only been seen by a handful of others including master yoda, vader, Kylo and rey and that is stopping a lightsaber with nothing but the force. Granted his required two hands but this is still impressive and demonstrates his growth despite lacking a fully trained master and being mostly self taught in this regard. His decision to forgo the lightsaber is a sound one that focuses more on trial by combat so that he can deepen his connection to the force to become a more well rounded warrior and not use the lightsaber as a crutch as most Jedi had in the clone wars and imperial eras. He let go of that weapon and gifted it to Sabine making it hers and solidifying the force as his true ally and weapon.

The reason he didn't use the lightsaber is because he knew Sabine needed it, which she did. It's been a decade since he got to Peridia, so he's more than capable of fighting w/o the lightsaber. Plus he proved it by doing it! But Sabine got shot several times, lost both of her blasters, and nearly got killed by Shin of Ezra had not used the force to pull her away. Same thing happened when Sabine got attacked in the road to finding Ezra. He knew she needed all the help she could get. He didn't refuse the lightsaber, in a way, he gave it to her again.

Ezra has been away for 10 whole years. At this point, he's probably just grown so accustomed to the using the force. I highly doubt that he has spent the last 10 years without any self training at all. His lack of a lightsaber could have just been one less distraction, allowing him to fully embrace and grow familiar with his force abilities.
Also, it could be possible that whatever Baylon is looking for has aided in the development of Ezra's abilities. If the planet is somehow connected to a force deity, it could be possible that Ezra would be affected, even without being in close proximity.

Consider the amount of time he's been without one, even if he had a saber that was aligned to him, he may still be clumsy with it since it's likely been many years since he's had any practice with a weapon, but he's had regular practice using the Force to defend himself and his allies.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the lightsaber that Ezra built in the last episode. Not only was it made from twin components with Kanan's lightsaber, it had a blue blade. I always wondered why 3rd season+ Rebels Ezra had a green lightsaber, and it would have been nice if they offered some kind of explanation as a change like that should mean something significant. It could be that the blade he constructed is using his original blue kyber crystal, and used a black market green crystal in season 3, but there should be some explanation WHY he made those choices.

    "Stories are just stories."
Theories are just theories, too. And when we have them, all they do is create expectations which are rarely met.
I love Nia's (SW Theory) opinions on a lot of stuff. I'm a decade older than him but I didn't get into SW until the SEs came out in 1997. We had channels like HBO and Showtime but they rarely ever showed SW on even basic TV. Became a fan to Indiana Jones and Batman by 1989 and Back to the Future by 1990.
I'm at a 100% agreement with Nia's take on Ahsoka's Ep 6 and Baylan. I think Baylan's sidequest trying to find this character calling him has become the main plot of Ahsoka. The MacGuffin. The fate of Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, and Thrawn have all taken a backseat to Baylan.
Everyone wants to know what he's looking for? My all-time favorite song is U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Sorry, 90s babies, the 80s had way better songs. But even if we separate Baylan's mysterious sidequest, he's still a great character.
Baylan is giving me mostly Sir Christopher Lee/Count Dooku vibes but before Dooku joined Sidious since Baylan is right at the middle. And then Ray Stevenson is giving us elements of Sir Alec's Obi-Wan and animated Plo Koon. I'll keep repeating it, Ray is the best SW actor since Sir Alec.
Notice Baylan never raises his voice. Tells stories to Shin and tries to mentor and nurture Shin like Obi-Wan did to Luke in ANH. And if you go back to ANH, Obi-Wan does abandon Luke like Baylan did to Shin. Baylan might be trying to save Shin just in case Baylan gets the Raiders of the Lost Ark death scene getting consumed and melted by evil, dark spirits.
I'm all-in for future episodes focused only on Shin if Djarin and Cassian had flashbacks explaining their past. I really do want to rank Shin in my top 10 and perhaps over Leia. Rank her right below Baylan. But be careful what you wish for. Sometimes these characters are not all that interesting when we start finding out more about them. Shin's luster may wear off.
    Solo (2018)
The Book of Boba Fett (2021)
    Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
    *Loki* *Season* *2*
I've seen Loki S1 at least five times and listened to it while the screen off a few more times because I love the score so much. So I don't really need to binge watch to remember it. It's still very fresh in my mind. Loki is actually my favorite series on Disney+. I know Sean Chandler and Tyrone Magnus didn't care for it but I like it more than any MCU or SW series on there.
I'm trying not to get too psyched up for S2 which comes out this Thursday night. I'm still not sure if S2 will ever be as good as S1. MCU has really hit a slump these last 2 years. It wouldn't surprise me if Loki S2 sucks. I remember loving Agent Carter S1 only to despise S2. If the Ahsoka S1 finale does disappoint, at least we get Loki S2 only 2 nights later. Only question is will it be any good?? We can never be too sure anymore with Disney.

    11. Moon Knight
    12. Ms. Marvel
    13. She-Hulk
Never saw Secret Invasion and don't care if I never see it.
MCU has really sucked ass the last 2 years. I absolutely hate Quantumania. Loki S1, Spider-Man: No Way Home (which is really a Sony movie), and WandaVision are the best things that came out for MCU since Endgame. I didn't really care for Hawkeye and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol . 3 the way others feel about them.
Star Wars is not as popular as MCU for this current generation but surprisingly has been a little bit better with their D+ series. Mando even with S3 and Andor have all been better than every MCU series for me since 2021 except Loki. And Ahsoka is better than every MCU series since August 2021.

Well done aside from the harmless statement, those very skilled in the force don't need a saber although against an equally skilled opponent yes you need one or your toast.
Qui-Gon trained with force first and saber last even for guardians so that whatever form they chose they would have the connection to the force first and foremost giving the type six edge to whatever style they fight with. And ensuring that saber or no they are never helpless and that they have every tool they need no matter what life throws at them.
He knew that a Jedi's connection to the force and understanding of it and relationship with it was the most important and that the saber is only a tool and an extension of that relationship and that understanding.

Having a light saber and doing good and etc. however towards the end of rebels you see Ezra mature in the ways of the force and as a Jedi as well. Maybe Ezra not using a lightsaber was just a reflection of furthering his growth in the force and as a Jedi. He survived on a alien planet in a foreign galaxy with thrawn clipping at his heels for 10 years, clearly he had to adopt new was of protecting himself by using the force.

    Andor: 8.4
    The Mandalorian: 8.7
I thought Far, Far Away had the best world building we've ever seen from a SW episode. It was so good, I wanted to rewatch it again the following morning. Most episodes, I'll only watch it once because I don't have that urge to rewatch it. Only Ep 4 and 6 did I want to rewatch them the next morning.
Episode 7 became a step down because we needed more of Baylan's sidequest. Remember all the whining about Bo-Katan's sidequest becoming the main story to The Mandalorian S3? This isn't the case with Baylan because he has this great mystery hanging over his head we're all trying to figure out. And he seems a far more interesting character than Bo-Katan.
Ranking the most kickass characters in Ahsoka excluding Anakin....
    1. Baylan Skoll
    2. Ahsoka Tano
    3. Ezra Bridger
    4. Shin Hati
    5. Thrawn
    6. Great Mothers
    7. Morgan Elsbeth
    8. Sabine Wren
    9. Huyang
    10. Hera Syndulla
Straight up combat, Thrawn is not beating most Force or lightsaber users. Now if it was straight fist to fist with no Force and weapons, I'll like his chances similar to Steve Rogers beating Tony Stark without a suit on. Steve would whoop Tony's ass and Iron Man is my guy.
I got Ahsoka below Baylan because it doesn't seem she can defeat him. In Rebels, she had a hard time against bigger, stronger opponents like when she faced Vader. It's not like Baylan is agile and mobile. He takes these huge swings and Ahsoka can't withstand these blows like if Mike Tyson was hitting her. She's simply getting overpowered by his bigger/heavier size, longer reach, and more raw strength.
Initially, I thought she had won the first fight after she kicked Baylan 3x to the ground in Ep 4. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because she burned her hand touching the map and getting distracted by Sabine's fate after she saw Shin. But now it seems Ahsoka really can't handle Baylan. *He* *acts* *like* *Dooku* *but* *fights* *like* *a* *full* *human* *Vader* *without* *a* *costume.* He got his own Rogue One hallway scene in the very first episode for goodness sakes.
It's clear Shin has no problem against Sabine. That's like comparing The Empire Strikes Back to The Last Jedi. No contest which is the better middle movie of a trilogy. But when we watch Shin face Ahsoka, she struggles. Heck, she struggled against a lightsaber-less Ezra. This is why I still have Ezra above her and from leaks, he will wield a lightsaber again. Will have his "Steve Rogers carrying Mjölnir moment" where fans will cheer when Ezra uses it.
I'm going to be curious how Ahsoka S2 plays out if we ever get one. If Baylan and Shin were never in this series, I'm not sure I would've kept watching passed Ep 3. I'm also not sure if I'm going to enjoy watching Shin join Ahsoka. I would rather see her team up with Thrawn (at least for now) and wreck havoc in their galaxy.
Yesterday, I ordered a hat with the Andor logo on it from Aliexpress. Cost me about $14 with taxes and shipping included. And I'll keep repeating it, I initially HATED Andor. As much as I like Nia's I

Episode 6 was definitely better, we saw a new galaxy, new species, we got a lot of new lore informations, nightsisters, a lot of info about Baylan and Shin, but people give better score to clickbait episode with Anakin.

It's really evident that Ezra grew in the force and kept it his ally during the nine year isolation. He learned an alien language and expected his allies' return. That's not something we've seen amongst stranded Jedi before (obi-wan, yoda, Luke, etc) he predicted/expected that Sabine would find him. He never gave that up. His show in the Force only strengthens that. It's been nine years, and he's still in tune and stronger than Ashoka and Sabine. In his world, really, he didn't need a lightsaber.

    *Shin* *Hati* *=* *Wanda* *Maximoff?*
We might be intrigued and liking Shin Hati right now. But that's because she's enigmatic similar to how I love the very mysterious The Armorer.
What if we do explore more about Shin and we end up finding out she's a Wanda ripoff? Wanda was intriguing too. I never forgot seeing her in the mid end credits of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and feeling so intrigued by her. For years, Wanda was living up to her hype. She was great in Age of Ultron, Civil War, Infinity War, and Endgame. She nearly killed "2014" Thanos in Endgame.
Wanda was highly anticipated by me because Aaron and Liz would star as a married couple in Godzilla (2014) just a few months after The Winter Soldier came out. I would read about how powerful Scarlet Witch was online. A year before that, Liz was in the Spike Lee version of Oldboy with Josh Brolin. I knew the Olsen twins' younger sister was on the come up.
Then what happened when Liz finally got her own Disney+ MCU series 7 years after her first appearance as Wanda and when she finally became the Scarlet Witch? People started hating her. She enslaved an entire community because she needed therapy. She went heel in Doctor Strange 2 to find her fake children. The longer it can go, the worse it can get. We saw it with Game of Thrones after Season 6.
Listen, I like Shin too but I've seen many times seeing a very interesting character only for their story to no longer hold our attention as time goes by. Check IMDb. Black Widow got a low score and Natasha was popular prior to her death in Endgame. I see polls picking Man of Steel over Wonder Woman (2017). And people want WW to be recast while they won't for Henry Cavill. Fans tired of Gal already?
Each time a cool character comes out, fans grow tired of them, especially from male fans. Daenerys Targaryen is a perfect example. Great first season by Emilia Clarke although I don't find her to be a strong actress. Then writers completely ruined her by S8. And she's supposed to be the greatest Targaryen to ever live. She's the equivalent to Anakin being the Chosen One. Freed slaves but ended up using them for her military.
Very few ever live up to their initial hype. It happens more often than you realize. Remember how cool seeing images of Darth Maul and Kylo Ren were prior to TPM and TFA coming out? Remember seeing Kylo's crossed lightsaber and his Vader+Revan inspired helmet? The moment he took off his helmet, the illusion was gone. The moment Obi-Wan split Maul in half, Maul with his one scene of dialogue was no longer that cool.
For all we know, Shin's previous life was not much different than Wanda's. Lots of emotional pain losing people in her life. Wanda saw her parents killed by a bomb from Stark Industries. Watched her twin brother die. Watched her lover die. WandaVision was her way to cope by brainwashing an entire town to become sitcom characters she grew up watching.
I want Shin to be awesome but I've seen it time and time again when fans turn on a character after a while. Rey was interesting to me after The Force Awakens. By The Last Jedi, I stopped giving a shit about her and her FaceTime Force calls with a shirt-less Kylo Ren.
At least Baylan goes out never feeling overexposed to us. Never feeling tiresome. It's like Heath Ledger's Joker. Let's say Heath was still alive today and he was featured in The Dark Knight Rises. And say it wasn't as good as TDK. We may view Heath and his Joker a little less. It's Mando S3 tarnishing the series a bit because it wasn't as good as S1 and S2.
Think Kurt Cobain. He died at age 27. If let's say he's still alive today at 56, would people view Nirvana as highly now than if he didn't die in 1994? Same with Tupac or Biggie. Everything in life can get tiresome. Shin may get tiresome. They die younger, they automatically become immortal like James Dean. Most people will live long enough to tarnish their legacy. All it took for Will Smith was a slap.
Disney tried exploring Han Solo's past in 2018 and we realized Han's past really wasn't interesting. Han is a great character but it doesn't mean he has an interesting story to tell. Same thing with the Obi-Wan series. We saw too much Reva and Obi-Wan being a broken man for a decade trying to babysit Leia most of the time. The Book of Boba Fett, same thing. Boba's life is not that interesting.
Shin's story can be really good but it can turn really bad in a hurry. Just be cautious knowing we have popular Star Wars characters having their own movie or TV series only to realize they're not that interesting. They're called supporting characters for a reason. They're not supposed to star in them. There's been a few *recent* exceptions....
    Better Call Saul
    Peacemaker
    Andor
    The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

SW Meg said a couple days ago that Baylan and Shin will NOT die in Ep 8. So Baylan will not have his Raiders of the Lost Ark death moment. Audience may feel cheated if he did get that or how Walter Donovan died in the Last Crusade. The most interesting character of Ahsoka was just a sucker all along.
I figure Baylan will not die because they finished filming 7 months before Ray died. I'm not sure the writers had Baylan dying in mind a year ago. Will likely be addressed for S2 like a lot shows or movies that dealt from an actor's death, leaving the project, or simply getting fired. The Godfather Part II didn't even have Marlon Brando for that final flashback sequence and it was still a great film although present Vito already died.
Let's say Shin joins Ahsoka. What exactly is she gaining? Ahsoka couldn't beat Baylan twice. And it's not like Ahsoka is a really great teacher from her results with Sabine. Ezra is also right there. He's way ahead of Shin as a Jedi. I believe Shin will end up in Thrawn's group even with her wiccaphobia. But I can see her turn to the light ala Wanda later down the road.
Wanda was very interesting too early on until she started to turn heel in WandaVision and then Multiverse of Madness. Then fans started to hate her. Ivanna Sahkno has that face of an Elizabeth Olsen who can portray unhinged, broken female characters.
I like Shin but she's too weak for my taste. Ahsoka can't even handle Baylan who fights like Vader with slow swings but hits extremely hard. But each time Ahsoka confronts Baylan's padawan, she whoops Shin's ass. Ahsoka is a downgrade of a teacher from Baylan if you ask me. But it's Disney. Girl power!
Shin may grow tiresome to me like what happened to Darth Maul and Kylo Ren looking cool and badass initially. This is why I wasn't running out to buying merch of this "Shin Baddie" or "Shin Hottie". I did this for Daemon Targaryen last year and I have zero regrets because he really is a badass. He's a fan favorite for a reason and his final moments are badass.
I hope more shows come out about the Targaryens because I love Baelor Breakspear and Brynden Rivers. Daemon is a rare exception like a Darth Vader and Iron Man where they look cool and they really are cool in the story. While Darth Maul and Kylo Ren is judging a book by it's cover and you realize they're lame. Kylo Ren was the bigger disappointment.
Ep 8 may end up with little fanfare and be predictable. But knowing Filoni's erections from Ahsoka, he'll make her accomplish impossible feats like she's Ethan Hunt. What if Baylan ends up looking like a moron like Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? *He* *chose* *poorly.* Should've just used purrgils to go there. No need to ally with Morgan.
Baylan ends up losing his life perhaps by S2 whether off-camera or using a stand-in from far away with a hoodie. He already lost his "daughter" in Shin. Writers are being forced to kill Baylan and make him look like a moron because Ray died. Quite a predicament the writers are put in since nobody can predict actors dying months ahead of time and Ray was only 58.
It's the only way to do this unless they're willing to recast for Baylan. Kinda sucks, doesn't it? Baylan is the best and most interesting character in the show. Perhaps the best SW character in 40 years. Then the writers are forced to give him a cheap death and make him look like a moron at the end for guessing wrong about this great power calling him on Peridea because the actor really died.
Remember in The Dark Knight, The Joker didn't technically die in it even though we all knew Heath Ledger died. By The Dark Knight Rises which came out 4 years later, they did a time jump of 8 years and never mention Joker's whereabouts. Is that how the writers will handle this? A time jump? Then mention Baylan died like T'Challa dying from an undisclosed disease.
If Baylan is killed off whether we get a Season 2 or from the Heir to the Empire movie, I prefer if it's only mentioned he died. Don't show it to us or it will make him look stupid. Don't give him a Raiders of the Lost Ark/Last Crusade death scene.

I know people say he hasn't practiced in all these years, but he could have easily found a stick to practice with. Or take up a staff like Chirrut. I know I'm reading too much into this, but it kind of reminds me of the argument of the old Jedi having an impractical, almost arrogant, mindset. Yes the Force may be all-powerful, but a force user is not. And not preparing as best you can when there are high stakes for yourself or others is foolish.

I'm not sure how he made a mistake here though. Not to mention, you don't answer that like you said you are. As you stated, he hasn't used one in 10yrs. He has been training with the force however. Not to mention, he stopped another persons use of a saber mid swing towards him. His force usage was able to bend the light coming from said saber. Not only did you not answer the question you said you were answering, you just kind of gave people more of a reason as to why he correctly choose to fight the way he did. Not to mention you state "it makes him harmless", which he clearly was not. He proved this by not only stopping another person use of a saber, but also by disarming another persons blaster and shooting them in the face with it. To think you can't use a blaster with intention, but only a saber is in and of itself an incorrect way of thinking.

Especially in the final episode when he was launched onto the ship by Sabine. It felt like he didn’t feel true remorse of leaving her, more like he was faking emotion Temporarily. I’m not necessarily saying that he has gone dark side, but I don’t know if his allegiance is good and true any longer either. I will say he was giving serious Chirrut vibes in the fight without the Saber.

    *The* *Last* *Jedi*
There's a scene where Luke Skywalker looks angry and is holding a lightsaber ready to kill his nephew because he saw darkness in him. What if the same dark entity that pushed Luke to abandon the dogma of the Jedi Order is the same one calling Baylan?
The Sequel Trilogy can be viewed better if they somehow create links to other stories that led to their actions. The Prequels is now viewed so much better thanks to The Clone Wars animated series to fill the 3-year gap between AOTC and ROTS.
The only thing I don't wish it to be is Palpatine. I personally love Sidious but Disney made a huge mistake bringing him back for TROS which created tons of plot holes and ruined the OG characters previous actions. It simply didn't make any sense and I wanted Snoke to be his own character. Killed him off way too soon.
    *What* *If* *It's* *Anakin?*
Nobody has really asked that. What if he is The Son? I think a lot of people would love Hayden Christensen back in some physical form and not be in flashbacks or in holograms. If they can bring Palpatine back, they can do the same for Anakin.
I'm not part of the Hayden member berries club who keeps wanting to see him from all the nostalgia bait. I didn't care for Hayden's portrayal of Anakin from 20 years ago. But if it's a way to bring Hayden's Anakin back in a physical form and not just in WBW or in holos, why not?
We keep coming up with different theories and it's like what happened to guessing who Marrok was. Made people trying to guess who he was look foolish. What if it's a lot simpler than that? What if it's right in front of us like Queen Amidala and Padmé being the same person in TPM?
Check out the SW celebration with Ray and Lars getting interviewed. We got Baylan and Thrawn, two of the best characters in Ahsoka with the most charisma. Lars said something interesting. He said we won't really know what's it all about until the final scene.

When Yoda asked Ezra why he must become a jedi, Ezra replied, "Everyone, I will protect everyone", and yoda then gave him his blue crystal, acknowledging Ezra's choice by giving him the symbol of a guardian.
At the start of rebels, Ezra is lost in a sense that he is directionless, no path really laid in front of him. He survived day to day, no real aspirations for the future as there wasnt really one to be had alone on Lothal as a street rat. Kannan and the crew helped Ezra grow, giving him the strength to help others. By the end of rebels Ezra has in a way completed his goal, he protected his entire planet and family from the empire, taking away one of the best strategists in the galaxy and heavily weakening the imperial presence in the outer rim (the empire rearranging their navy to make up for the massive loss of 7th fleet would have left gaps in their defence and allowed the rebellion to grow). He know finds himself lost in a more physical sense, he is unable to aid his friends in his exile and has very little left to protect, taking away what he feels his purpose was. I have a feeling we will either see Ahsoka give Ezra his first crystal as she did return to malachor and we know that sabers can survive the explosion of energy there as Ezra found an old lightsaber next to a dead jedi, or he will find Kannan's saber on the chimera calling out to him.
Funnily enough Sabine Character arc from rebels comes full circle as well, leaving her broken in a different way. At the beginning of rebels she was dar'manda, a broken Mandalorian no longer accepted by her blood family and was running from her past. After helping Mandalore she was temporarily fixed having restored honour to her name. Between rebels and Ahsoka, it seems she has been living Ezra's life, clinging onto everything he left in a desperate attempt to uphold his memory whilst everyone else moved on (even Hera accepted Ezra was dead, before Ahsoka gave her hope again). She is no longer herself but not because she loathes her past but because she longs for it, simpler times when she had Kannan and Ezra fighting by her side, whilst her family was on mandalore liberating her home. Personally i think we might see Sabine give up on trying to wield the force but accept what she can do instead, instead trying to grow her connection to it, not so she can use it as a weapon but so it can guide her, possibly not giving her the reflexes of a jedi but the ability to do what is righ despite her own desires.

1:50...How do you know that this Green Lightsaber , doesn't belong to Him ?? Do you have concrete information about this Kyber Crystal origins? did he build it ? ...I don't recall any clues of its creation in Rebels series or Ahsoka ?? Plz explain.
Ezra has the right to use any lightsaber..cause he went through the jedi trials, to obtain the crystal ...He was trained by a Jedi , he met Yoda ghost & got his first Kiber crystal in the temple..
He built his first Hybrid lightsaber / Gun ....with the help of his crew.
His first Hybrid saber, got destroyed in his dual against Darth Vader ...(Star Wars Rebels S02 Final : Twilight of the Apprentice)
In Season 3 , he has a new lightsaber (Green) ...did he build it ? where did he get the Kyber Crystal to make this ? Was it given to him , perhaps by Ahsoka ?? No one knows, but he uses it ..then gives it to WoMan-do Sabine Wren. Which is a dissappointment.
2:05.... I contest this point...cause there are many jedi in the past, who have searched out other dead jedi and obtained their Lightsabers....and in other instances, Jedi have taken other lightsabers, and using the force changed the color of the lightsaber to meet their development in the force. There are others whom carry their masters lightsabers, as well...
Doesn't the Kyber Crystal CHOOSE it weilder ?? if so, then perhaps this one, choose him..and he abandoned it , by giving it away to a non jedi. Why is that a NON JEDI can possess a lightsaber, but a trained JEDI doesn't want it ?? It's got to be more than just the kyber crystal...i think it has something to do with EZRA's development in the force...he does admit, that he is "Rusty" ...
3:16..Your guessing...Was ezra FORCED to build a second one...No one knows.
How do you know "he HAD to make changes , that he didn't want to make?"
There's no concrete info that EZRA went back to the Destroyed temple, for another Crystal.
There is no info about a BLACK MARKET deal to obtain the crystal.
How do you know that this GREEN Crystal , belong to someone else...? Nothing is mentioned about this in the SW Disney series.
    Color meanings of the Lightsabers.
🔵Blue - loyalty, stability, truth, justice. Jedi Guardian, a Jedi highly skilled in lightsaber combat.
🟢Green - growth, safety, harmony. indicated a Jedi Consular, a Jedi who preferred to reflect on the mysteries of the Force and fight the dark side at its heart. Green belongs to the Consular level of the jedi order (Note : The order doesn't exist anymore)...but if this point is true ....EZRA totally fits this level...
🔴Red - power, anger, hatred. the Sith all carried red lightsabers. It was a symbol of their unity and unwavering dedication to the Dark side of the Force
🟣Purple - nobility and wisdom.purple speaks to moral uncertainty, reconstruction, and recovery. Therefore, the individuals that used a purple lightsaber generally shared an affinity with both the Light and Dark sides of the Force.
🟡Yellow - Yellow indicated a Jedi Sentinel, a Jedi who honed his or her skills in a balance of combat and scholarly pursuits.
🟠Orange - In Legends, orange lightsabers were most often wielded by Force-sensitives who identified as Gray Jedi. Rather than the Knights of the traditional Jedi Order, Gray Jedi had a foot in both sides of the Force and hadn't committed fully to either the light or the dark.-
⚫Black - Constructed by the ancient Mandalorian Jedi Tarre Viszla, the only true black-bladed lightsaber has become a symbol of strength and leadership among the strictly principled Mandalorian people.
⚪ White - the lightsaber blades that are white mean to reflect a non-affiliation with the Jedi or Sith.(as seen with Ahsoka's sabers)

did Ezra not got to the INBETWEEN WORLD of the force...Ezra has developed Force abilities that many jedi masters, haven't (ex: working with both the light and dark side of the force with the jedi holocube and sith pyramid...Ezra has connected with Jedi Ghosts, "Yoda" and he has been developing his jedi abilities with the presence of An ancient being, Bendu, Loth-wolf Dume and Sith Maul ? ) I'd say he is more than developed deeper connections with the force and Cosmic levels .
Yoda/ Qui Gen Jinn/ Luke Skywalker's 2nd saber , were all Green lightsabers.
In the SW encyclopedia...it states "Only those who use the light side of the Force can wield a green lightsaber...Green lightsabers are typically used by Jedi who has strong abilities with the force. Telekinetic abilities, such as moving large objects, and mind tricks are just some of the useful tools in these Jedi's repertoire. Jedi Consulars were most well known for their alignment with green lightsabers."
..So does this mean, that Ezra is not fully light side of the force or doesn't have strong abilities with the force.? ?

    0:09 ... Are they StormTroopers ??
....I think they are Raiders? Bandits ? Outcast warriors? Not Stormtroopers.
Finally , a SW UA-camr that speaks up about Ezra's wrong decision to give up the Lightsaber.
The Lightsaber has always been part of a Force user, Jedi...Only a jedi can construct such a weapon, cause they use the force in its construction.
But because Ezra wasn't raised in the Jedi (academy) Order, his 1st lightsaber was a cool sword - gun combo... I can understand b/c of his freedom education from the strict Jedi order, that Ezra , never adopted the sacred relationship to the lightsaber ...but to give it away, and then reject it later....was a huge dissappointment , for lots of SW Fans.
I blame Kathleen Kennedy , for these weird changes....didn't she produce a movie, where Luke skywalker threw his lightsaber away ,over a cliff...
Wasn't Rey Palpatine given lightsabers (Luke and Leia's) then she buried them, and pulled out a new lightsaber....did she build it herself or did she find another one ?
This new SW story, is becoming very strange and is dismantling all the original story, that SW Fans grew up on....this is by Kathleen Kennedy's design...

There's also an obvious thing that was missed here.
As you said, he's not used a saber in 10 years.
But >also< he was never really that proficient a saber wielder.
Even with years of training, he never won a single saber duel, he knew enough to find a way to escape, or hold his own until his masters showed up.
But ultimately the main things he overpowered with his saber, were grunts and meat shields, and even then they often got the better of him.
Ezra was strong in the force, but relatively weak with a saber even with constant training, and hadn't touched one in years.
Sabine is weak in the force, but strong and experienced with many weapon types, including the Lightsaber.

There's another way to look at it. As you said, the user imprints on the saber. Maybe he was worried that because he is more powerful than Sabine, and because he also previously owned the saber, that if he used it, even for a short time, the saber might favor him over the connection it had now made with Sabine, essentially undoing, or partially undoing, the connect she had with it.

  • @terranempire2
    @terranempire2 Рік тому

I think your first conclusion is interesting, and appt to a point. Your second hypothesis however I think is reaching. Besides there is a practical reason why he may have left the blade to Sabine.
On the First part. Sabine and Ezra are close. The pair have a deep connection. A connection that I think would allow the saber to be used by either with little resistance. Particularly has this would be a short battle.
On the second Ezra clearly is willing to use lethal force. But I believe the practical issue here is practice or lake their in. Ezra hasn’t had a light saber in his hands for 10 years. He left with no evidence of a Holochron as well. The force may guide the blade of a Jedi but the Jedi need to train and practice. Sabine was more in practice to the art of saber battle than Ezra. Maybe on their way home Ezra and Hyun will allow Ezra to regain his confidence in the laser sword.

I think it's neat with all the talk of all the different colors of lightsabers and how the kyber crystals have to bond to the Jedi to work right when we all know that originally there were only two colors of lightsabers red and blue and Lucas put the green one in and Return of the Jedi because he felt the blue one wouldn't show up very well against the sky since then everybody has all their different opinions and imaginary stuff to build this whole thing behind it when if you read the lot of the old Legend books the color of the lightsaber was just because of whatever Crystal they used and it didn't have to be a kyber crystal.

  • @WarHoundLACN

Ezra's real kyber crystal is Orange, a balanced colour to protect. Making Ezra a lightsaber wielder known as a Revanite. Those who mastered both Light and Dark Side. But also discovered the balance in both of them. Where we learns not to get absorbed by the Jedi Hollocron or Hungry for Power of the sith Hollocron. Wanting to learn more of the aspects. Ezra is like the Bendu, those in between the Light and Dark. Mastering both, thus he uses originally the Orange lightsaber. Wich represents both the Bendu and Revanites.

And like you pointed out, Anakin and Obi-Wan used lightsabres that did not belong to them in Episode 2.

Sure he did whatever it took to save his friends, made massive sacrifices to save more than just his friends, but he had a crazy connection with the force. He communicated with animals really well, especially the purgil. He had a connection with the wolves of lothal, and was the only force user to access World between worlds like that, even palpatine needed Ezra’s help. So I think the dude has a crazy force connection, and now that he’s older I want to see what he can do. Could be overthinking it - He did not use the saber because he doesn't align with its color yes. Ezra's and Thrawn's relationship has always been a mystery and Ezra being MIA for as long as he has been doesn't help the case. This is all taking place during other events or getting closer to other events and the force is always balanced. A Jedi crystal is that of a Jedi but for a Sith to use the Jedi crystal would create that awkwardness of no longer matching the blade. Ezra has always had that dark side curiosity and when he was under Maul's wing even learned a thing or two. It is highly likely Ezra could be one of the chess players moving the pieces across the board. He may have went missing as a Jedi but the past has shawn what happens to those Jedi who have lost everything. Could very well be wrong, but all the sense it does make.

Not to mention, while originally a guardian, is it impossible for one to grow? 10 years is a long time, and even in Rebels he showed signs of growth.

    *General* Baylan Skoll
How old do you think Baylan is? Maybe matches the same age as Ray Stevenson in his late-50s? Ahsoka is about 47. This is where the elder defeated the younger. In Star Wars, the teacher usually defeats the student or the younger character. This is what Star Wars teaches. The master usually wins over the apprentice.
Obi-Wan beating Anakin/Vader in ROTS and his 2022 series. It's not just having the higher ground, but figuratively speaking, Obi-Wan held a higher position than Anakin. A Jedi Master, part of the Jedi council, and a general. Obi-Wan had more clout in the social status hierarchy.
We watched Sidious destroy his former apprentice and kill his brother. We see Shin beating up Sabine twice but can't handle Ahsoka. The elder usually wins unless you're 83-years-old like Dooku in ROTS or your name happens to be Qui-Gon Jinn who is starting to become the Sean Bean of Star Wars.
To think Dooku at 80 beat Obi-Wan and Anakin in AOTC is some badass shit from a really old guy. I know Anakin was only 19 but he still lost to an 80-year-old. And Obi-Wan who was about 35 in AOTC since he's about 16 years older than Ani also lost to an old guy in his 80s. They needed Yoda in his late-800s to handle Dooku.
“If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”
The one time Vader beats Obi-Wan is when Obi-Wan let Vader beat him. And he did it similar to how Star Wars Meg is explaining about Ahsoka. Obi-Wan didn't really need to win that duel in the Death Star to win the fight at the end. You don't always have to win at that particular moment to win at the end.
"A Jedi's goal is to defend life, not take it."
I don't think Baylan being a general should be overlooked. Ahsoka never held that title. I know Lord Vader can kill General Tarkin by just Force choking him with his mind, but Palpatine gave Tarkin that title because Tarkin is a brilliant man. You don't get hired being a general from only brute strength. So Baylan is a military tactician like Thrawn.
Why is Thrawn still being called Grand Admiral? He should update his title. Palpatine and Vader have been dead for 7 years by this point. Tarkin has been dead for 11 years. He should start calling himself General Thrawn if he's Heir to the Empire. Or Emperor if he conquers the New Republic which I doubt knowing the Sequel Trilogy never mentions it.
I really don't think Baylan's power should be underestimated. He was a general in the Clone Wars the way Obi-Wan and Anakin were. Yes, Anakin was a general. He's at least a decade older than Ahsoka. And it's not like Anakin ever reached his potential. He was only 22 before he turned to Vader and died at 45.
Let's calculate Baylan's age in the Clone Wars. Let's say he's 58 matching Ray's age in Ahsoka. Subtract 30 years (19 + 11). Baylan was only 28 as a general. Perhaps only 25 since the Clone Wars lasted 3 years. He's 6 years older than Ani and 10 years younger than Obi-Wan. Baylan had probably been around the Jedi Temple longer than Ahsoka had.
George Lucas views Star Wars as if you're going to school. You learn from your elders. Baylan winning again shouldn't be surprising given that he's older and held a higher military rank than Ahsoka ever did. Baylan had seen more real battles than Ahsoka considering she left the Jedi Order before Order 66.
The master always schooling the apprentice yet again like Michael Jordan schooling a young 19-year-old Kobe Bryant in the 1998 All-Star Game only for Kobe to drop 55 with 42 in the first half on the Wizards when MJ was 40 in 2003. You don't usually see the kids in Cobra Kai beating up their senseis, do you?
    Learn from your elders...
    Sidious over Maul
    Dooku over Obi-Wan and Anakin
    Obi-Wan over Anakin
    Obi-Wan over Vader
    Vader over Luke
    Baylan over Ahsoka
    Ahsoka over Shin
The times the elders lost, Qui-Gon was killed by Maul, they either let them beat them, or in Dooku's case, he was 83. It seems like a miracle he beat Obi-Wan and Anakin at 80. Of course, Sidious didn't need an age excuse when beating Maul.
Vader pulled back against Luke at the end of ROTJ. If Luke was not his son, I believe Vader would've killed Luke at the end of TESB. Baylan won again against Ahsoka. Higher ground matters. Higher ground can also mean higher age, military ranking, or clout. More experience usually wins. Baylan might be an equivalent to Obi-Wan whom Ahsoka's master couldn't beat.
I think fans are expecting a Raiders of the Lost Ark ending for Baylan. When the Nazis opened the Ark of the Covenant, they all die. Indy and Marion didn't because they kept their eyes closed. I personally don't want to see this. I prefer Baylan mentioned being dead like how they handled T'Challa.
It would only make Baylan look foolish if see this scene no different than the Nazis looking for the Ark of the Covenant only to die from it. But if we see Abeloth, then I might be okay with it because she's that powerful and seductive. But I think having Abeloth will break the SW universe. She basically represents Satan and Hell. Pain, suffering, and then death. What if it's Palpatine calling Baylan?
Either way, it's going to be bittersweet watching Baylan exit the series.
    1. Han Solo
    2. Yoda
    3. Obi-Wan Kenobi
    4. Darth Vader
    5. *Baylan* *Skoll*
    6. R2-D2
    7. Leia Organa
    8. Chewbacca
    9. Darth Sidious
    10. Qui-Gon Jinn
Thrawn and Shin Hati are in the second and third tiers of my favorite characters with a bunch of Mando and Andor characters. The list is based *mostly* from the live-action. I still prefer Dooku over Thrawn and Shin. I got Qui-Gon's sensei right below him at 11th. Tales of the Jedi gave me a greater appreciation for Dooku.
Ewan McGregor can never be more popular than Hayden Christensen from the SW Gen Z crowd because Ewan can't do that lightsaber move where Hayden can spin it around from his back. But I believe Ewan was the best actor for the entire Prequels followed only by Liam Neeson in Ep 1 and Ian McDiarmid in Ep 3.
I'm aware of the bad publicity Ewan got for leaving his wife and daughters for Mary Elizabeth Winstead, but I'm only regarding his work, not his personal life. The work Ewan has done for Star Wars should be applauded even if his Disney+ series is arguably the worst one. Blame that on Deborah Chow and bad writers.
Obi-Wan truly is a great character in my eyes. Whether Sir Alec Guinness or Ewan McGregor, either version is great. Sir Alec is the better actor while Ewan has portrayed Obi-Wan more and longer. You're winning with either version of Obi-Wan. Such a unique name too. Surprised nobody calls their sons with that name.
"Who is the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him?"
Elan Sleazebaggano: You wanna buy some death sticks?
Obi-Wan: You don't want to sell me death sticks.
Elan Sleazebaggano: I don't want to sell you death sticks.
Obi-Wan: You want to go home and rethink your life.

Love the work Stupendous as even your insight and care of analyzing these modern Star Wars shows are worth more watching than the source material.
However, I found the choreography really lackluster in the Asoka series, I don't know why it's so slowed down and cut to hell to where it looks like you can't really understand what's going on. I assume it's the lack of training or ability of the stars they chose or just their physical limitations. The whole choice of swinging a weapon at people who were never close to where they are swinging is becoming really distracting or just in general where they step the weapon only to spin / parry for no reason and not further the motion. Like I understand 'flashy' Hollywood mechanics but I mean it's not even basic mechanics they are performing, it's more like a high school production at this point.
That being said, loved to see Hayden back in action and his moves were amazing, sad they had to nerf / slow him down to fight with Rosario Dawson (who reportedly trained / "grueling training sessions that lasted all day" in her preparation for the series... ).

Before the siege of mandatory anakin gave Ashoka her lightsabers back saying that he “adjusted them” which turned the blades blue. I doubt he replaced both crystals. Also after Vader destroys Ezra’s first saber, you can clearly see the crystal is separate from the rest of the assembly. I assume that Ezra took it, and when building a new lightsaber Ezra focused the crystal differently, giving it its green color and reflecting his focus on studying the force more deeply - this is when he uses the sith holocron. So I think it’s the same crystal, but he’s been without it for so long that he’s hesitant to use it.

Personally I thought this decision made sense, Ezra has been getting by without a lightsaber for years at this point, he hasnt practiced with one in quite a while. He may have felt he was better off without one, or that sabine may need it more. Or maybe he just wanted to see if she'd kept up with her training over the years.
I could see Ezra's combat style being opportunistic and pragmatic given that he grew up as a petty criminal and most of his growth as a jedi has been self directed, living a life of rebellion and survival. He also clearly never developed the stigma against blasters so common in the jedi order. He doesnt have the luxery of being an idealist peaceful monk, he has always needed to be pragmatic. When you have precognition and exceptional reflexes, a ranged weapon is a great way to deal with multiple opponents who, more than likely, have some tactical training specifically to combat a stereotypical lightsaber wielding jedi. Thrawn probably planned to have his night troopers provide support and pressure while the dark jedi engaged him, so grabbing a blaster was a clever surprise.

  • @lukedesmith
    @lukedesmith Рік тому

More likely he just didn't feel like he needed it until Shin showed up, and even then he worked circles around her. Ezra was fighting Thrawn's minions for years without his blade. Since he is still alive he must have gotten very good at it, and this was just Filoni's way of showing that. Don't read too much into it. Lucas never meant for the color of the blade to mean anything more than "red bad, blue good." It wasn't until he realized that shooting a blue blade against the blue skies in "Return of the Jedi" wouldn't work that green even became a thing. Purple just was because Samuel L. Jackson asked for it. Yellow, white, and orange were concepts Filoni introduced in the cartoons.
