@LauraSpath my mom and I currently have bronchitis. One thing that is recommended is to drink orange juice and carrot juice. If you were sick and that was recommended, could you drink orange juice/carrot juice, or would they also not agree with you the way whole veggies and fruit don't?

I personally wouldn't, and sugar is not going to help you heal. If you want the Vitamin C just take a tablet (that doesn't have sugar). If I was sick I would stick with broth, electrolytes, and eggs.

I used to feel this way when I was a mostly plant based person and my husband wasn’t. He wanted to start the carnivore diet and when he said “it would be so much easier if we both did it” I said “ok I’ll do it with you!” Things really are so much easier and I feel better not eating pounds and pounds one fruits and veggies all day. My bloating is gone and the brain fog is almost gone. Maybe once she sees how great you are feeling she may jump on board. Good luck ❤

Laura... very grateful for this video. 🎉 I went 100% carnivore September 1st 2024. I spent hours watching UA-cam videos every day to keep at it. I am the only carnivore I know of in my community. I'm 82 years old, my family thinks I'm nuts, but before I started I went to my healthcare provider and got a green light. Labs drawn 60 days into it and everything was perfect. That stopped the naysayers. My "why": weight loss, autoimmune issues, IBS - d, RA. I'm down 20 lb, my mental Clarity is greatly improved. However I'm still waiting for the healing on the IBS. It is not an instant fix, but I know everyday I'm closer to the healing. I'm so glad you told your viewers that it is not a diet you can have one foot in and another foot in the standard American diet. Fortunately I knew that going in and have not faltered. Once again thank you for this video❤.

Hi all - Happy New Year! I'm restarting again today Jan 1st, 2025. I learned about and started BBBE last year in the early spring. About 6 - 8 weeks in I had lost around 30+ lbs. I decided I wanted to get a blood test panel to learn what my numbers were and then check again at the end of the weight loss journey. The results were great even after such a short time, and I felt great. Significant improvement: blood pressure down, A-1c down, cholesterol down, etc. I was very pleased. Doc said I was doing great. He asked what I was doing and I responded carnivore. He shrugged his shoulders, rolled his eyes and said I HAD to eat some fruits and vegetables. Okay, I did start adding those foods back in and you can guess what happened. Yep, the weight all came back and now here we are - 2025 - the weight is back along with all the aches and pains. Every body is different. A food regime is not a one size fits. For MY body Carnivore is the best+++ and WW, Diabetes, Mediterranean, and STD are causing too many negative issues. So sorry Doc I am back to carnivore today. Hooray for a new year and a new beginning, a happier healthier 2025. Good Luck to all who are also starting and restarting today. Diane

This isn’t just a diet-it’s a commitment! This is some of the best advice out there, and I truly hope people take it to heart. You can’t approach this halfway; it’s all or nothing. Either you’re in, or you’re not.
From what I’ve seen, the people who struggle the most are often those who try to justify small cheats here and there-"Oh, it was just one slice" or something similar. I don’t want to sound harsh, but if you’re not being honest with yourself about what you’re eating and then turn around and say, "It’s not working," it can be frustrating.
When that happens, it not only holds you back but also risks discouraging others who might benefit from this approach. Honesty with yourself is crucial. If you’re not ready to commit fully, that’s okay-take the time you need. But don’t half-commit and then claim it doesn’t work. That’s not fair to you or anyone else. Be all in when you’re ready-it could make all the difference.

I just completed a 72 hour water fast with no issues - loving the way of eating the only issue I face is I work on a remote mine site that doesn’t have a lot of food options and the steak is pretty average. I first learned about the carnivore way of eating for health and weight loss from some random blonde woman who showed up on my UA-cam feed. (It was Laura) 😊
I couldn't believe she was telling me it's ok to just eat meat and fat. I mean, having studied to be a health coach more than 10 years ago, I "knew" we have to eat more veggies and less meat for optimal health.
But I gave it a go for a month. Then another month. I kept going.
I was surprised my health care practitioner was ok with my eating that way. She only asked that I come back in 6 months to have my cholesterol checked. (I didn't.) 🥴
I learned more about eating this way. Turns out I wasn't following it as well as I should. After I made some changes, I was flabbergasted by the burst of energy I had.
More than a year later, my new blood work results confirmed this is the diet for me. Cholesterol, normal. Vitamin D, normal. A1C reduced. I'm only one point into prediabetic at 5.7, down from 6.1.
My optometrist (who also eats this way) was very pleased by my eye health.
I continue to learn. Right now, I completed first day of an intentional 5-day water fast. Wasn't hungry at all. I protein loaded the day before.

I started carnivore immediately after Thanksgiving. To date, I've lost 15 pounds over 6 weeks, from 196 to 181. But more than that, my body shape has changed dramatically. I had a large stomach bulge that is now flat. I still have the spare tire roll of fat around the middle, but it's even all the way around. My legs are thinner as I can now fit into pants I previously could not due to my thighs not fitting. My waist has shrunk 3 inches and I now fit into the same pants I previously would have to lose at least another 10 pounds to fit into.
I think the reason is that I'm gaining more muscle as I lose fat, converting as it were. So weight was my primary goal, body shape is now the hidden gem to this diet.
I no longer have GERD too. I'm sleeping much better. My attitude is healthier as I just feel happier with my life.

      @LauraSpath  Місяць тому +1

Lots of carnivores still have coffee with creamer.
As far as sides we try to keep it really simple things the kids can grab for themselves or I make a few ahead of time that they can just reheat so I'm not having to do that for every meal. Also depending on how old they are they can make their own sides.

@ My creamer has natural cane sugar, which I know I shouldn’t have, but need my coffee & can’t do it without sweetener. Maybe maple syrup? Also, I do all the cooking, my husband doesn’t cook or grill, that’s who I’m cooking the sides for 🤣

    • @LauraSpath

Maple syrup would be just as bad as sugar, you'd be better off switching to an artificial sweetener at least to get the sugar out and then maybe you can wean down over time

Of course you can do coffee without sweetener.
You just won't like it ... until you adapt & get used to it.

If you don't want coffee without it, you are addicted to the sweetener not the coffee.

Looking back, I probably should have eased into it because I went 12 days without a bowel movement. So now i dont know how many grams of fat should i be eating a day. Hey Laura, been following for a while and love your videos and everything you’re doing. Something interesting that I probably missed from other videos is that your husband got rid of his sleep apnea on carnivore or something along those lines. I’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea and got a CPAP machine which I hate btw. The question is: Did your husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and by doing carnivore he was able to reduced or eliminate sleep apnea symptoms? and was that confirmed by a sleep study? If that’s the case that’s enough motivation for me to give carnivore a shot this year. Thanks for all your advice!

I think you want to eat lean meats because your body needs to learn how to use its own fat for energy that way you lose weight. If you eat fatty meats, your body won’t be getting the energy from its own at first, it will focus on the fats you’re consuming. I hope this helps you 😊
