    First, the only thing I can think about is on the Dream Dozer experience back in June, one guy constantly saying "Where's my D7 High Track!" lol. Second, will this have the hybrid engine option or will you keep the D7E around for that purpose?

      At this point the D7 is a 4 speed powershift with a Lockup Torque Converter. Very efficient, powerful and easy to operate. We are constantly developing new machines and powertrains, and rely on customer feedback to help us determine what is needed. Have a conversation with your dealer rep about your needs for the D7, D6, D6XE, D8 and help us prioritize. Keep in mind the D6XE that was recently released is taking some of the work the D7E was performing, and is a hit among customers. Glad you made it to Dream Dozer, I was also there, and thanks for the feedback.

    thats what a D6 should be, more usable on a worksite than the featherweight D6T, at least it can push and has a set of rippers that will keep working on it.

    • @likeaboss860
      @likeaboss860 4 роки тому +1

      Every size has it's use. Yes I agree the rippers on a six are very small compared to a 7.

    • @gabethomas3190
      @gabethomas3190 4 роки тому +1

      A 6T is nearly twice the size of an old 6C that's almost equivalent to a 7G and the 6T is 230 fw hp (at least that's what our 2008 model is) that's almost as much as the early 8H had.
      I guess my point is, buy the right size cat for the work.

    What is the purpose of a D7 in this application? The only purpose a 7 has is in a weight sensitive environment. But I’m the video it’s showing doing jobs that an 8 or bigger should be doing.

    • @rossgray3070
      @rossgray3070 4 роки тому +1

      At 265 hp it is up where the last of the 8H s were at 270 hp, so it would look like a replacement for them as they were a popular size and weight back in the day.

    • @oe542
      @oe542 4 роки тому +2

      ross gray I’m guessing that if what you’re saying is true I’m curious on the price difference between the 7 and the 8. That IMO would be the determining factor in such scenario.

    • @rossgray3070
      @rossgray3070 4 роки тому +1

      @@oe542 The price would probably depend on who you are and HOW MANY U GUNNA BUY, I would say. Probably cheaper by the dozen I would think. LOL

      Kinda strange because they have discontinued the D 7E electric drive but have got the D 6E with electric drive, and gone from a Lo drive back to a Hi drive track frame, wonder what the reasoning is behind all of that. I do remember when the 7E first came out one of the sales points was there is 60/70 % less parts in the drive line because there is no TQ or Transmission as such only electric motors and alternator. The Russians have had electric drive dozers for years and railway Locos have been diesel electric for decades. Guess we will just have watch this space.

    • @yieldmap
      @yieldmap 4 роки тому +1

      The D7E was a good machine for us, and we learned quite a bit about electric drive. As a result we released the Second Gen electric drive in the D6XE last year, and it's been a resounding success. Based on customer feedback, we released the D7 as a high drive dozer, with more capability and productivity.

      Ron Bradshaw The D6XE released last year has taken some of the market the D7E was serving, and we feel a larger D7 size dozer is needed to fill the gap up to the D8T. Thanks.
