I think Charlie is not the only one with a equipment buying problem... HaHAHa
Has no def!Win-win situation! For everybody
Eric Johnson you beat me to the punch, but well deserved and and im sure it'll be put to work to earn its keep!. Good luck Chris and congrats on the nice old cat dozer, hopefully she gives you quite a few good years
No way I think you’re talking about Matt from diesel creek
It’s a nice one for sure
I think he’s trying to beat you with power looks like you need to replace Jerry’s dozer with a D8
Just be careful not to make a little cart track and then fly off of it in a race, letsdig.
Look what you made the man do buy a bigger dozer and I guess it was his influence that persuaded you to buy a dump truck
That thing is clean!! Normally their all dented up !
A motion has been made and seconded to call her Wilma
That’s funny the driver recognized you right off the bat! Glad it made it up there quickly
Had a Blast we will be back again lol
I would say if that Cat could talk it would be as excited as Chris. The Cat has been adopted into a good home, it will be used but also loved and cared for. Congratulations Chris.
Did anyone count how many times Chris said " I"m excited." I think he may be happy with his purchase. Looks like a great buy
do you think he slept in the seat the 1st night lol
Nice dozer, auction action, delivery driver reaction on recognizing you.... Glad you noticed his clip board before running over it.
I appreciate that you showed the actual auction process on this video. A lot of guys wouldn’t want to let that become public knowledge. Not a bad price for a pretty clean D6D. They have a tendency to run on the warm side, at least in the heat. ✌️👍🇺🇸
Watching the auction was exciting!!! "35.5, just a nickel more" 😆 Thanks for sharing this really great experience with us. She's a beauty.
All auctioneers are crooked they always all have been and I wouldn't buy anything from an option because I've been butt f***** at 2:00 in the auctions by crooked ass auctioneers
I was laughing and grinning when you were bidding on it, way to go Chris☻
Had to keep my poker face on haha
Looked like they were pulling teeth to drag a bid out of someone who didn't really want it when you were about to pee yourself to buy it.
@@letsdig18 a motion has been made and seconded to call her Wilma, what say you?
@@letsdig18 auctioneer shure knew how to drag the bucks out of you guys!
Looks like a nice rig!
@@russellsmith3825 He could also call this dozer "Kat" and put a Kat face on it!
Take a long hard look at that ol' girl when you service her , you just might find she has fewer hours on her than you think . She starts and runs so nicely , the access doors close smoothly , she hasn't taken up smoking , she's a good girl ,I think you done good !
One of the first things that come to mind is that the farther back you go, the fewer computers you have to fight with. This certainly looks promising!! I grew up in Alaska on our homestead with an old WWII surplus RD8, cable blade and a gas pony engine. We've always been fond of the old Cats. This certainly looks like a good one.👍
Happy for you Chris. You and DP have been two of my favorite UA-camrs for years, to see you guys friends now is even more special to watch. Clint at C&C is starting to become one of "my guys".
I can go along with this 100%
Ditto.
Love the reaction from the delivery guy! Looks like a great piece of equipment!
That would be Wilma then?🤔 Looks really tidy.😀 She's got some weight to her too judging by the driveway churn.😉 You got a good one by the looks of things here.😃 Nice catch Chris.🙂 Look forward to seeing more of her.😀 Be well.😊
I second the motion to call her Wilma.
@@russellsmith3825 here, here, sounds like Wilma it is !
@@armandorios6668 lol, @let's dig 18 needs to sign off
Congrats Chris! I know you’ll get a lot of use from this machine. I thought the drivers reaction was so neat when he realized who he was delivering the dozer to!!
What a great video! Your walking around at a Florida equipment auction with Mike and Clinton and....There she is, looks the same machine as the one you operated as a kid and fate gave you the opportunity to go there as an adult professional operator and take it home. The look on your face when it started right up was PRICELESS!
Sweet looking CAT 1984 Model. Very Cool that you learned how to drive on a Model very similar. Congratulations Chris! 👍
It is really nice to see a group youtubers working together for the good of all !
After the Komatsu threw those emissions system codes last time, I'm not surprised to see older machines catching your eye! Hope she treats you well!
A low hrs oldy👍
At least to work on it you wouldn't need a Comp-Sci degree
@@michiganengineer8621 and no government juice, just diesel, oil, water, and grease.
@@Bill_N_ATX That alone would be worth the (slightly) increased cost of replacement parts.
@@michiganengineer8621 From what I hear, the cost of some of the emissions sensors and fluid pumps is enough to consider junking a new machine.
I've watched the work you do , watched how you've grown your business and the only way I could be happier, would be if that machine were sitting in my yard. I like your style ! Thanks for the entertainment !
Try spraying ether into the cylinder ends before you remove them for repacking. Put the spray straw on a can of ether and place the spray straw under the wiper seal and cylinder rod. Spray repeatedly while moving the cylinder up and down. The either will cause the dried out seals to swell back up. An old mechanic taught me this trick and it's not guaranteed to work, but worth 5 minutes and a $4 can of either. If the seal is cut, it needs replaced but if its dried out, this may work and same you the time of repacking.
Love the drivers reaction when he recognises you!!
Can understand why you'd want to buy a dozer that's like the one you learned on. Not only will she bring on the memories for you, she will also be a great piece of equipment. Congrats on fulfilling a childhood dream.
I remember when d6c in good shape went for 12-15k now it’s double
When I was a kid we had a 78 model D6 that looked just like that one with 24inch pads. Our hired hand was pushing some trees one day when a sapling whipped him in the face from the side. Had to take him to the hospital to get stitched up. After that we put on hog panels on the side and back. Its the kind of paneling they walk on. Prob weighs 300 lbs for a 4 x 8 piece. I'd suggest watching out for those small saplings lol
We also had a chrome stack on ours. Was an Excellent machine
Congratulations Chris,
That baby really wants to run.
Looking forward to future videos on this unit.
What a beauty.😊
When they start up fast, low hours, no blow-by, and looks that good + No DEF system or electronics - OLD SCHOOL.
What you gonna do ;-)
When you’re excited about something, it’s really evident. Looking forward to more from this old lady.
Chris my dad owned a D6D and a D7D, he cleared for pipelines and electrical line right away the D7 had a cutting blade on it and the six had a rake blade and I wanna tell you what, when cat made the D model and a high track R model, they should’ve thrown away them drawings for any other machines because that was the best machines cat ever built and like you I used to love to run those D model machines but anyway brother I’m glad to see you get you one I was thinking the same thing when you were trying to push them stumps up with Betty that you needed a good D6 because it would work circles around Betty and it even has wide pads so another great video my friend and I wish you lots of lots of luck with the new D6D. Another thing you better do is put you a screen across the back of your cab and you know what I’m talking about a damn Limb will come up in there and knock your head off so you and John and yawls family stay safe and keep the videos coming my friend
Hiya Chris, although Im British, I see from your love of your family that old machine means more to you than just an old Dozer, and I can see its an American tool that helped build America.. Glad your happy, so that means you will be happy earning money with it... Ian -- UK.
I'm happy for you Chris. Enjoy every hour with a sweetheart of a Dozer.
Congratulations on your new purchase Chris. It sure looks and sounds like you have done yourself a great deal. Enjoy putting her to work as she looks like she is ready to rip.
I've been waiting for this day for a long time. That is a beautiful machine Chris. Congratulations on such a great find.
Hey Chris,
What a beautiful hunk of old iron to have there. I cannot wait to see it stumping soon. It'll be like watching your old video from a couple of years ago with the man and his D8 pushing up stumps. As for a name, you have Betty and Barney so you need to name your D6 Bam Bam. I'm sure you'll get years and years of enjoyment out of running that thing.
Depends on who ran it
It went to the right owner and a pretty good turn around getting it hauled.
It’s always nice to go back to your roots! You’re going to have a blast! Congratulations!🎉🎊🎈🍾
Congratulations on getting the tractor you wanted, may it serve you many good years.
A D6 is about as perfect all around size dozer you can get and the D6D is about the best one there is and you'll never have to worry about DEF and electrical problems. It's also a very clean looking and well taken care of machine.
what do the letters stand for?
@@dave-yeahthatsme3925 diesel exhaust fluid
@@dave-yeahthatsme3925 DEF = Darned Emissions Fluid.😉 D6D means Chris stole it at that price of about $1.75 a pound. Others like it have been offered at 20 thousand more than he paid.
@@gravelydon7072 That answers my question. I know zip about heavy equipment and was about to ask if auctions were worth it. I thought overheads were high in the aviation business!
@@dave-yeahthatsme3925 Diesel exhaust fluid is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. Specifically, DEF is an aqueous urea solution made with 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water. Wikipedia Also known as Panther or Horse piss and I absolutely hate it! (very hard on fuel pumps but required by law)
I can't believe how good of shape that thing is in, we can't wait to see you put it to work!
I have a D6D with a full cab; she's been a great machine who has served me well. I think you will really be happy with the purchase.
Congrats on the D6 purchase!! Really looks like a nice well-taken-care-of machine!! Nice having another dozer especially for your land clearing work with an addition of a brush rake.
Another great asset to the fleet. It looks like it has come from someone who cared for it and is now in the hands of another. Farm looking good.
A Reliable asset. 👍
Happy for ya Chris - and happy for all of us here riding with ya on the UA-cams!👍
She's a beauty Chris!! To see that thing start and run like that....Wow!!! Can't wait to see it out busting up stumps. Nice purchase.
You know you’re a true fan of something/someone when you get almost as much enjoyment out watching them find and then purchase a bit of kit that you know is fantastic find 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Regards from England 🏴👍🏻
So much respect for CNC equipment! Would not have known him if it had been for Mr. perfect. These two just met yesterday because of Mr. Simmons. What a blessing!
Very nice Chris. Clint is a helluva guy for doing what he did there. Enjoy and can’t wait to see it in the dirt!
Good for you Chris ! It was fun to watch a couple of repair bills with the newer diff equipment and bam we’re back running reliable old iron! Got to name it bam bam to go with Betty and Barney. Best of luck with it.
Well bought Chris!
You had quite a 'team' with you on this Auction and it was really good of Clinton ( C&C Equipment - You Tuber too ) It sure is nice that a piece of equipment that you've always wanted come up like this, and you were lucky enough to get it too.
I'm looking forward to seeing this being serviced and then out on a few jobs.
Good Luck with the D6D
The Lets Dig 18 fleet of equipment continues to grow. That engine has great compression to start the way it does. Congrats!! Chris.
Clint, that is so nice that you bought Chris a dozer!!🤯
That's a nice dozer for it's age👍👍
It’s nice to see you so happy, what a big smile 😊.
Glad to see Ol' Betty's got a new friend to work with! Congrats Chris, your hard work and determination has brought great things your way. Best and well wishes from Michigan.
Chris that D 6 had your name on it and the grin when you started it. Congratulations! Ed
Hey Chris congratulations on the D6. I love the old cats.
That was the first D6 I ever operated. Great machine
Unbelievable how quick that thing starts!!! GREAT dozer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice purchase Chris, very cool machine. Looks to be in great shape. Good luck with her. Can’t wait to see her on the battlefield.
I like equipment from the 80's and 90's! They dont have the creature comforts of the the new ones but so much simpler to keep running
Thank you for another great video Chris thanks for taking us along I believe you got a very good machine there. I learned on a D-6 Not too big not too small we enjoyed having ours in our fleet.
hehe, I loved the moment when the driver realized who you are! What a find. Sweet old D6. I know she'll serve you well for years to come!
That is my favorite tractor them are some nice tractors can't wait to see you put it to work.
Congratulations and thanks for bringing us in on the fast paced auction action!
Thanks for sharing your videos, I don’t know anything about heavy equipment, but thanks to you, I am learning!
We just bought a 2 owner D6C from Salisbury North Carolina, we’re doing all the servicing on it now and sprucing up. Nice machine Chris 👍🏼
Wow. . . what a find! I've got just about as many hours on a D-6C as you suspect that D-6D has on it (7-8,000) . . . back in the day. Really a good all around dozer. Well done.
YOU STOLE THAT BEAST! That thing will pay for itself over and over again! SCORE!
As you were tracking backwards and forwards testing it out, it occurred to me that you me that you don't have your own equivalent of Mike's relationship with C&C... moments later you're with Clint and using his auction number! Great video and a lovely purchase. Congratulations & thanks.
Congratulations on the purchase of the new Cat! C&C, Clint are very good people! Best wishes.
Huge respect for you guys who know equipment like that. Hope it is as good as you thought. Enjoy your vids, Chris.
D6's are very enjoyable to operate. I learned to operate dozers on a D8 1975
Great job. Thanks for sharing. The 6 will be well looked after!
Congratulations on the new member of the heavy equipment herd! I hope you get MANY years of dependable service out of her. God bless.
Man Chris, you’re taking me down memory lane with all this old yellow iron. Looks just like the one my Grandfather ran, I’ve got pictures of him teaching me the controls on that Cat before I could drive a car. She’s a beautiful piece of iron and will serve you well.
ah go on Chris. You can never have too much equipment now and she purrs like a kitten 🙂
Beauty!, Ran the same cat (1978) for 6 yrs.
Nice buy...nothing like it now a day. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats Chris. That’s going to push large amounts of soil. Most envious.
Thanks for allowing us to view you review of the machine and the turmoil of the bid. After several occasions of you and D.P. Mike together I have come to the conclusion that the world is a better place because your guys DID NOT grow up knowing each other; the potential mayhem that would have resulted would have been breathtaking!!
I've been getting those vibes too! 🙂
OMG! I just thought . . Can you imagine those two in the same classroom?! 🙂
You can hear the excitement in your voice, good on you.👍👍🇬🇧
Can't wait to see it in action. I can't understand for the life of me why I'm so excited for someone else buying a dozer.
Good for you Chris, congratulations. Another tool for the job👍🇺🇸
Congratulations Chris on another fine piece of equipment glad to see your company continue to grow
Nice buy Chris ! I learned to operate dozer in a d6d a bit older than this one ,had about 50k+ hours on it and after 2 months a final drive gave out .
It was replaced with a brand new d5c and I loved it too .
I'm excited to see this d6 at work !God bless and safe operation.
Congratulations Chris! Very happy for you! Great find! Welcome back to North Cackalaki
Congrats Chris!
A great find and a wonderful addition for your business. I don't think you could have done any better! I'm sure she will get the TLC, she needs and deserves.
Just sold my D6D I had for 22 years. Excellent dozer
Miss Kitty! Pampering the old girl huh! I think Chris is smitten! 😁🤘🏻🤘🏻👍👍 She’s a beaut!
An excellent choice Chris, pure purring power without the restrictions off AD Blue or a computer to diagnose every little problem. Have fun you know your machines and what you need for perfection and what calls for good old brute force power, a perfect partner in crime for the tracked loader. You will soon have a museum to the machines that built America
That is a great-looking old tractor. Hard to find fault with any of it. Undercarriage looks very good from what I can tell just by a quick look. Get those cylinders rebuilt and you’ll be at 100%.
Congratulations she a looker!
So glad your an old soul and seek out the cream of the crock. Seam like the new equipment is great for the newbies that only know what the book says. You operate by the seat of your pants. The job has to feel right before you even check to see how close to spot on you are.
This was really fun to watch thanks for sharing. The machine is awesome, there's nothing like old stuff in good nick.
So glad to see some good old equipment get put back to use! It's gonna be nice to see it working alongside those new Volvo! Awesome buy Chris!! Betty now has friend to talk about the old days with!
Ohhhh man such a fun episode love it. 😃
Great stuff Chris Best of luck with it Thanks for sharing 👍
That's awesome! Congratulations she is a beauty, can't wait for the upcoming videos.
Congratulations on your "new" equipment !! Love the old iron !!
Congratulations on winning the bid! It will have a good life with you. Because you take care of your equipment 👍🏼🤙🏼
Beautiful machine for its age of love all you UA-cam guys buying an running this old equipment showing the younger guys that the old cats had it built right back in the day!
Happy to see that Clint + dad are treating you well. I watch their channel all the times and they’re best of people.
Bought a honey. Purrs like a kitten. Havent seen such a nice dozer in a lomg time. $33.5K was a great deal. Clint was surely irritated he couldn't have it.
