    yea need a place for storage aka lunch box holder , deeper cup holders and some sort of built in communication, cant hardly hear cb's and the handhelds we use on our current job usually run down before the end of the day. A way to mesh coms with the stereo speakers would be a nice touch! Would make it alot easier to hear! Driving D8R now, that added 4th gear sounds like it would make this machine way more effective too!
    @Cat® Products, Get at me I have an excellent idea for the future of GPS and dozing! Something that could be implemented even on older machines. From your 6 wheel ADTs 745's, 740's to your dozers, this would be a total game changer for both operators and machines!

    The visibility is much worse than older machines. There are so many things blocking your view of the blade. That is something they really need to work on.

    Nice to see air suspension seat on CAT. In the mining job i work, new CAT still comes with the poorest suspension,not sure how to pronounce it on English..i think its a spring suspension seat. My back is crying every time i finish work.

    Where is your video on the 10T Dozier. I work in mining for the last 11 years I notice that cat does not show dozers ripping in blast rock where slot of the rock needs too be RIP before it can be loaded. You maybe able to use auto rip in soft ground but don't work ripping rock as you need to be adjusting the ripper all over time

    I do like the four-speed idea that's about it but I think I can push more when it's struggling and second that's when I'm hogging

    • @rogermeeker3789
      @rogermeeker3789 4 роки тому

      The four-speed puts 2 gears where you previously had just one This is what really helps that 2nd gear dozing, as the D8 can cut in 1.5 and push in 2, downshifting automatically if it needs to. This really helps improve production when hogging dirt.

      @rogermeeker3789 5 років тому +2

      Can you provide a timecode for which push you are referencing? If you're referring to 0:49 where we are pioneering, then yes. It's a technique used to pry material away from one side, in order to build up the other side. Frequently used to build a flat road on a hill side. Thanks!

      @@charles3028 And you could buy a nice D8K that probably does 60-70% the work for 1/10th the cost. All the electronics mean more cost, more complexity and more maintenance problems. But hey, you get Bluetooth!

    High track only has 1/4 or less of sprocket engauging the track.. how is that possibly better ? Seems prone to track slip or rapid sprocket wear. Komatsu 475 push more than any cat..

    • @rogermeeker3789
      @rogermeeker3789 5 років тому +4

      We've done quite a bit of analysis on undercarriage wear, and found that whether low drive or high drive, the first tooth/bushing contact takes 85% of the load. The next 2-3 bushings take the rest. 3 teeth is all it takes.

      My company have 2 D8N for 10 years and they got 1 brand new D8T
      For me it was useless to buy a new dozer if the other still running good
      But my boss said he buys the new dozer for the business...
      For example if you want to get a new project u must show to your customer that all your machine are in good shape and they will know that they will not have a problem with the time you make to finish the project
