First Drone Trial - Tilling Garden After Plowing

  • The garden needs tilling after Tractor Time With Tim used the plow to turn over sod in our front yard. This isn't going to be easy but the John Deere 1025R (Johnny) and King Kutter tiller is up to the task. TTWT got a new drone and Katriel and Christy try flying it. We need a bit more experience!
Please subscribe to our channel. We greatly appreciate it.

Dad bought our F-14 during WW2 and it was on steel. Grandpa said you never experienced farming until you drove a steel wheeled tractor over a plowed field in January. You mite have come close! Thanks for video and looking forward to the drone.

Tim, thanks for sharing your tractor work. I am a new gardener at 58 yrs of age. Trying to figure what implements to buy and use on my Florida "sand" isn't obvious to me. It's a new challenge, but so far, I'm enjoying it. First day plowing ever, today, I got my international harvester 2wd 454 stuck in a sand furrow I made with my new to me two disk plow.

Once again Johnny did a great job given the rough plowed ground. That tiller does an amazing job really. As for the drone...well practice might make perfect!

Tim, Just a quick word to say thanks for such great entertaining and educational videos. In our world of negative politics and unfriendly situations your videos are a true breath of fresh air. Glad you have a drone now that will allow even greater flexibility in production. Keep “em” coming my friend.

This is the video I needed like 2 months ago haha. I read enough online fortunately that I chose a zero turn over a 1025r since I was doing 90% mowing....but I do want to eventually plow and till 3 acres on a hill!! The deere dealer said the 1025r would be perfect...yea after watching this I am glad i just bought a zero turn for now and will go with a bigger tractor in a couple of years from now.

You are such an inspiration proving that there is very little that "Johnny" is not willing to try. I have been running my TKV20 the past few weeks on my 1023e thanks to you and it works great in-between the never ending rain we have had lately here in upstate New York. Thanks again for your inspiration to use the John Deere sub compact tractors to their full potential. God Bless

Tim that was impressive on many levels!
I don’t think we have ever heard Johnny worked so hard.
I don’t believe I have ever seen Johnny loaded up that much to the point of stalling.
But impressively still did the job!
Obviously not the “perfect” tool for the job. However it absolutely shows what a sub-compact can do!

A disc-harrow would have been much easier to level out the plowed sod. Tractor Works added duals to his Deere 1025R. That would have smoothed the ride. I couldn't believe the first time I ran duals on ride, fuel economy, speed, and compaction. Still fun to watch the little Deere do a good bit of work. Thanks for video.

When I was a kid in the 60's some farmers tilled with 10 or 12 ft rototillers. We thot it really odd cause every good farmer was plow and disc. Wee control was such a problem those farmers gave up and went with the flow. They also tore the heck out of their tractors in the process.

Here in southern Michigan its the same way. Winter stayed late and April showers showed up in May. I have a 1/2 acre that if I walk thru it it's water over my ankles which is amazing because with each storm all the heavy rain had missed me. Last year I got 10 inchs in 4 weeks. Either way I have to go outside and put the back hoe on the tractor and dig a big hole for the water to drain too so i can pump it out just so i can get to my garden and get her ready for the season. I'm digging a detention pond this summer to take care of that problem. Already have permission from the village to do it I just don't want to do it in the middle of swamp season.

You should have worn a cowboy hat for that ride. Great video and another job the 1025r done well. Unfortunately my new 1025r is not doing so well. After receiving it three weeks ago, I noticed transmission fluid underneath on the floor.I wiped it up thinking it might have been from when they added some fluid and had spilled some on the machine. The next day more fluid was on the floor. After tracking the leak down it was coming from the bolt located behind the drain plug for the transmission . There were also gasket material hanging down from were it had been squashed out between the plate and transmission. So back to the dealer it went. Turns out this bolt was totally stripped out. It also had some sort of epoxy or gasket sealant around the bolt. This tractor had .1 hours on it totally new. This is not the quality I expect from John Deere. It was a patch, should have been made right at the factory. Now I'm waiting on a new transmission. Should have been a complete machine replacement in my opinion. Sorry I had to vent a little bit.
