In today's video, I had the chance to react to the top 3 boy groups/ boy bands of 2020! In this reaction video, you will see my reaction to BTS - Life Goes On. You all have watched my journey to discovering the Kpop boy group/ boy band, BTS, here on my channel. I have reacted to BTS plenty of times after my initial first time reaction to BTS. Life Goes On is their newest song and music video. I also reacted to the Kpop boy group/ boy band, Exo. In this reaction video, you will see my reaction to the Exo song, Obsession. I have reacted to the boy group/ boy band, Exo, once in the past. That Kpop reaction video can be found in my "American Girl Reacts" series here on my channel. Obsession was also the title of the last album by Exo. Lastly, I reacted to the Kpop boy group/ boy band, Seventeen. In this reaction video, you will see me reacting to Seventeen for the first time ever!! The Seventeen song that I am reacting to is called Home Run. Home Run is a different Kpop sound for me! I was definitely surprised. List of songs- Life Goes On by Bts. Obsession by Exo. Home Run by Seventeen.

Seventeen is known as a self producing idol. They are very much involve in composing, choreographing and producing their songs. Woozi writes and produces their songs since debut, hoshi and the performance team is very much involve in their choreography..the rappers write their own lyrics. They are also known as the theatre kids of kpop because of how theatrical their performances are. They are also known as the most synchronize group in kpop. They have a weekly show which is called going seventeen which is always shown every monday and is always trending💙 going seventeen is like a variety show and the ideas of what will they do each episode comes from the members. Those 13 boys are very warm hearted and very loving to their fans..i hope you can see seventeen as seventeen💙
Actually Vernon co wrote Home run.and actually writes on a lot of Seventeen's song and also composes and produces. In the beginning yes Woozi did most of the writing but the last couple years other members have been co-writing video editing and learning the production side. Next to Woozi when it comes to song writing credits for the group Vernon takes the number 2 spot.

Seventeen always innovate when they comeback, they are basically “theater kids of kpop” I hope u watch more of them, they are extremely charismatic and their friendship is no joke. They are the same age as BTS and the two groups are good friends. I’m a carat and I love when people react to them, thank u for reacting😊

btw the Home;Run MV was “close to dynamite” because of the 2020 retro trend!! A lot of groups were doing retro concepts this year and also their parent company is BigHit so!!
Just a lil something about SEVENTEEN and the song Home;Run is that they do a looott of different genres and styles and this time they went with a swing/broadway style and since that kinda looks like disco i guess? i understand why it reminds you of Dynamite😂 Also like BTS they produce and write their own songs and unlike BTS they also choreograph their dances! In kpop theyre known for their amazing choreo’s bc theyre always really in sync and its always very creative, but they have one of the best vocals too. In case you wanna see more of SVT i'd recommend Dont Wanna Cry, HOME (both ballads kinda), Left and Right (chill hiphop), CLAP (rock-vibes) and VERY NICE or Oh My since theyre both iconic (more cutesy)

In addition to what i have said earlier..some people are scared to get to know seventeen because of how huge their group is. However, if you pass that stage you will realize that 13 is not a big number, that if the group performs with one missing member it feels empty. 💙
If you watch seventeen dance practices you will realize they are more than just like bts.. they can do dances that no other groups can do.

Fact Seventeen is the only group that is called a SELF PRODUCING GROUP which they make their own choreo, songs and they also have a weekly gose of their own contents that airs every monday. Seventeen is also known for kings of synchronization which is why it's a must to react to their choreography video. Also a group that is to me perfect because all can sing, rap and dance. @@kairyiedf6952 bts, have input in their work too, Jhope sometimes help choreography the dance and he usually teaches to the other members, they are involved in almost every thing that goes into a comeback or at least have some input in their combacks, mostly the rap line produce and write most of their songs, they come up with the theme of the song and more that we don't see and are even in the project and show they and bighit want to do, same with other self producing groups like stray kidz, exid and more. So no even if I love svt with my whole heart and they one of my ults, I can't say they are the only true self produced groups, because that degrading other self producing groups.

@@Haifa386 The original comment meant that SVT is the only self-producing group that makes their own songs, choreographs, music videos, and reality shows. While other groups have put their hand in on the song making process and writing process, not many idols have the chance to actually shoot and edit a music video and get involved in the process of making their own show. Also, a lot of groups have their name up on the music credits as third or fourth (meaning that their contribution to the song was very small), SVT's Woozi has always been first or second in line, meaning that he was the one to really make the entire melody line and most of the lyrics. Groups like BTOB and Pentagon have shown this too, but they also have not ever shot their own music video that has been produced and put up on the official channel. I'm not trying to degrade any artists because all kpop artists are amazing at what they do, but just trying to point out what the original comment was trying to say.

Dynamite is 70s inspired, home;run is more 20s to 50s. They're so different, the only thing similar about them is that they're both in the past.

Seventeen are now technically under Bighit, BTS’s company (although they didn’t use to). That might be why they had a similar vibe and they might have shared set makers and directors. They also have loads of diversity in their music genres. The difference between some of their songs like "Thanks" and "Fear" or "Getting closer", is like night and day and I love them all. You also mentioned 24H earlier, which stands for 24 hours, and I highly recommend that song!
Actually Seventeen's main composer is Woozi and he still works with the same people. Home;Run and the whole Semicolon album are written before Dynamite and Semicolon album was supposed to come out before Heng:garae. Also Home;Run's genre is SWING music.
@@seoksoon1784 I think you miss understood, I'm a Carat of a few years now and am very aware of that fact, I meant the music videos productions vibe and sets 😂. The reason some of the scenes might look like dynamite and such. Though I'm not sure if its the same people or not. I'm also a huge fan of swing so I also knew about the genre. I was very proud that they tried it out and made such a good song with it!

Actually they're under bighit Labels not under bts company which is bighit entertainment. They are still under pledis entertainment so still with same producers and management.
@@goha9218 I am very much aware of the Label concept, but if its under Bighits Label, it means Bighit has a say on whatever Pledis does. If Bighit Labels owns Pledis, it also means that they have a say on whatever is being produced for and by its artists. Of course it's most probably an indirect say on the whole and not on tiny details. Do you really think Pledis stayed exactly the same after being bought out by Bighit, I personally don't think so.
Haha seventeen actually has 13 members ^^ i recommend their first BB Japan charting song Fallin Flower! The mv and dance is just pure art ✨ u can also react to their TMA or MAMA performance! It's so beautiful ❤ for dance practice definitely react to 24h ^^

I just got into seventeen and I love them, you should listen to don’t wanna cry, it’s one of the most iconic and well known kpop songs.They really hit the nail on the head with that one, it’s gorgeous. Also you should react to more stray kids, they’re one of the top boy groups in fourth gen and I think you’d enjoy their lastest comebacks (all from 2020) Back door, all in, and gods menu.

LOL yes, EXO hasn´t been active in a while and somehow they manage to be in the top. That speaks for the quality of music they put out and how much influence they still have even though they are older than many active groups... I like that they have vocals for days and have that certain R&B edge.

Just saying so many k-pop groups have been mixing English and Korean together in their music for a long time it isn’t BTS that started it but it’s kinda normal there since some Korean words sound English which what is called Konglish I’d explain but u can just google it

Really enjoyed the fact that you reacted to seventeen!!! A favorite of mine is their song Habit, which is a b-side that only involves the vocalists(vocal unit), and I would highly recommend reacting to a live stage, but if it gets blocked somehow, a lyric video can do 😅, and

TXT is the 2nd boy group under Big Hit Entertainment after BTS who debuted in March 2019. TXT's most recent comeback is Minisode 1: Blue Hour which was released in October 2020 (this is their 4th album), with the following mvs Blue Hour & We Lost The Summer. Big Hit Labels has acquired companies such as Source Music, Pledis & BeLift Lab (Big Hit owns less than 1/2 share of BeLift) who manage groups such as Gfriend, Nuest, Seventeen and Enhypen. TXT consists of 5 members who have an extensive discography, with their music not focussing on one particular genre. They are all talented, with members also not appointed to any specific position within the group. BTS has referred TXT as "the babies" lol.

Yeah I see the similarities to Dynamite in Seventeens music video. It’s got that retro style as well as the fireworks but they are very different songs lol. I love all three of these music videos however the BTS one wasn’t as flashy as the other two bc it was more of a quarantine style video(directed by Jungkook btw) so it was definitely not a super high budget MV but it had enough impact to get me emotional. I think you should make a video listening to the entire BE album 💜

You getting confused about all the Life Goes On mvs was hilarious 😆 I'm not sure if you've been told BTS were very involved with the album this time around! Not just the music aspect but from the scheduling to the mv directing to the album packaging they were involved in it all

I think we might have the same stance on EXO lol. Love Shot or Tempo might be better for you they're catchier and you can sing along with the chorus ( just be prepared to have them stuck in your head)

I think Jimin is a different kind of handsome than Chen. He's like angelic and graceful handsome with a mixture of feminine and masculine looks, while Chen is very sexual and hot kind of handsome. But that's just my opinion.

EXOs lyrics might seem a bit sexual or aggressive or whatever but it's beacuse of their storyline. It's basically that every comeback/mv adds upp to the story but you have to analyze and make your theories to kinda understand. so in "obsession" they were fighting with their different egos kinda? idk much about their storyline but i know that a lot of groups has it. so like don't be suprised if you don't get the mv and lyrics cuz it happens to us fans all the time
but they do have brighter songs

but you should definitely listen to their solo stuff (my favourite members' solo album is baekhyuns "city lights" it's an amzing album)

exo is on hiatus but still top 3 even with zero promotion outside asia since their debut!!!!. that is why people call them kpop kings of 3nd gen. it is not about records and popularity outside korea. it is bcz of winning the best album and idols of year for 5 years straight. after 9 years but still on top list. mostly in kpop groups come and win for 2-3 years and other groups replace them. but exo is on top for 9 years straight. and they broke tones of records and became chosen as korea's national pick by the government. (still don't forget that their company never promoted then out of asia and they are THIS big only bcz of the support of their fans and their own talent, i love groups like superM and NCT but it is sad how SMentertainment always promoted them in America even when they were still rookies but they never gave any chance to exo even they were the biggest group of kpop till 2018 in 3rd gen and their company use them only as money makers)
and they are crazy goofballs in real life. still like 5 yo children. their dark music videos are due to their concept and story line. the story of their concept started since 1997 !!! then they debuted in 2012 and the story started in their pre-debut music videos and 22 teasers. and it continued in all following music videos and concert VCRs and teasers and twitter updates and everything! they are the first group that made a concept like this and then other groups did the same (i don't say in a bad way. i myself am a big fan of loona and bts concept stories)
so bcz of that they sometimes have dark concepts. but their b-sides are all lovely and the lyrics are most of the times for their fans. you can try this music videos to have some fun:

and about using english in kpop.... it was always like this. i am a kpop fan since 2008 and it was always like this even there was complete english version of songs. it is not something that BTS started to do (i assumed it by your words that you think it was started by blackpink and bts. but actually it wasn't. it is so rare to find any kpop song that has no use of english.)
and also exo are known as crazy noisy childish seniors along with super junior XD they are so funny off stage. so noisy. even more noisy than junior groups. lol.

why you might think this is close to dynamite is probably because retro is very in kpop these past few months, if its the music though all i can say is this song and album was supposed to be released way before dynamite
I hope you react to #4 NCT I was surprised they were #4 after setting so many records past EXO at SM and how much they were overworked this year while EXO didn’t have a comeback..yes I’m a little salty even though I like EXO they just deserved it this year.🤷♀️
Yeah, I was a bit salty at first lol. I thought that was a bit strange/rare! But their fans are so committed, and after researching more about EXO, I can see why they’d be in the top 3. I’m working on reacting to NCT again💕

If that’s how I feel, that’s what I’m going to say🙃. As a first impression, they have a lot of similarities to BTS; but as I get to learn more about them, I’m positive that I will be able to differentiate the two w/o a problem.
