I’m actually ok with that level of hydrophobics! I doubt it’s dead. The front and rear of cars deal with the most contamination bugs and dirt and grime kicked up from other cars! I always recommend to do a second coat especially on these areas as folks tend to scrimp in these areas as opposed to the sides.
I think Jamie if you had just cleaned the area again instead of claying or washed the area again after claying you might have seen a better hydrophobics. Just a guess. But hey thanks for the video and the test!!!

In my opinion the durability claims of most companies are in optimal conditions. Garaged kept, washed at least twice a month. If your vehicle sits outside 24/7 of course it’s not gonna last the entire length on its own. You have to use toppers every 2-3 months

With all the hype that was drwan to the diamond protech line im a little disappointed but still it is doing its job. OP brought a contender to Foamtown USA for sure!

I don’t love 9 months for a 3 year coating. I haven’t washed mine with db36 in a few weeks, will have to see how it’s doing soon. Eddie’s getting me excited for OP products. Think I’ll get ceramic detailer soon, maybe eco wash too

Hey Jamie, Been enjoying the updates on the DB 36 and I have to say wow, its not looking good so far, but fully understand there is no one glove fits all especially when it comes to the diversity of climates and bug bombs across the US. You just taught us a very valuable lesson. Its not a good idea to clay over a coating as it may severely alter its hydrophobics.
Time to hit it with there topper quick body! Let's see it.

Owners Pride makes some excellent products. Their ECO Wash- Rinseless Wash is one of the best performing Rinseless Wash solutions on the market. Diamond Body 36 is pathetic after nine months. Instead of Nano diamonds they must have slipped some cubic zirconia in the bottle! I enjoy watching your product testing. Keep it up!
This should be 36 months coating 😮, very disappointing, no matter what excuse you use, it was supposed to be a game changer, space technology, another hype. Thank you for honest update

I'm really surprised that the durability was only 9 months on the front, I know they say that it doesn't really need a "reload" but it seems that giving it a quick body application once a month would help it tremendously.
I would like to try some Owner's Pride for GloveBox. You did a good job, the car still looks good even with the bird bombs lol. We will see what the 12 month update looks like!

After 3 tries using Diamond body and wheels. They all had lackluster hydrophobics in a very short amount of time and seeing this. I wont be purchasing any Diamond Protech again.

I too have had mixed results with the wheel coating. However, the glass coating seems awesome. It's still on the windshield of my daily after 9 months.
Yeah I’m gonna pass on Diamond 36(old NGNT). Too many other ceramic or graphene full blown coatings are better than that. If you gotta do all that to “revive” a coating then it’s a fail.
I’ve got a car with Siramik Lusterous Plus on and whenever the beading seemed to slow Labocosmetica Purifica always perked it back up. Could be worth a shot?
Have you applied any toppers to the DB36? I have a client who's Tesla Model 3 I detailed and coated with DB36 and he uses Gyeon Wet Coat as a topper. He;s very happy with the coating.

Wouldn’t adding an acidic spot remover on a acidic bird dropping make things worse?
I pre treat with All Clean and Wash so that would neutralize but Spot Rinse is non acidic as well 👍🧼

Ive had better results from adams graphene spray coating on vehicle that stays outside in the elements. Might have used $5 worth of it. Glad i didnt waste money on db36. Detailing products are all about hype and marketing.
Were the panels hot? Curious if you waited any time for them to cool down?
