My First Trip to the Occoquan Reservoir - NICE FISH!

I have had several friends recommend that I take a trip down to the Occoquan Reservoir if I'm looking to hook into a big largemouth bass. The fishing was hard today, but that didn't stop me from catching the biggest bass of the year so far!

Wow brother, my teen years were spent renting a jonboat and fishing from Fountainhead, my good friend Tom and myself. Fished Burke lake and Manassas, the 70's were great. I'll holler when I'm back out there, live in south central Texas currently.

We used to rent a jon for 5 bucks a day and the last time I was there, 1976 I think was 7.50.

Awesome video! really enjoyed the laid back commentary. I have been 2-3 times to the Res and haven't been able to catch anything yet, looks like I need to go early and hit it with the spinnerbait! Did you go towards the dam in this video? Cheers!

Yeah, I headed towards the dam from Fountainhead. Next time I go, I might head up towards Bull Run... but it's hard to choose when there is such a LOT of water to cover using just a kayak haha.
