  • Welcome to another episode of Ho0ked on Fishing!
    With your host Kaptain Krunch!
*SPOILER ALERT - THIS IS A LONG VIDEO - THE CATCHING STARTS AT 20:20*
Today's adventure was in October 2021.
I took the day to do some more testing and fishing on my new Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL Kayak.
This adventure was on the Occoquan River next to Old Town Occoquan, Va.
A very heavily pressured and polluted area.
I was after bass, or anything I could get really.
Ended up getting several nice Stripped Bass and 1 Largemouth Bass.
    It was an awesome trip!
I hope you all enjoy this adventure with me.
There will be much more to come as the weather continues to heat up here in Virginia.
Thanks for watching and please subscribe and thumbs up if you enjoyed the video!

I wonder if I've seen you out there. I have an orange/black Radar 115 pedal drive and used to be active with NVKBA before I deleted my facebook - I fish all over NoVA

Hi N, thanks for the comment!
I have not been out in the kayak in this area since maybe this video lol.
I have mostly been on the S Fork Shenandoah as seen in my other videos, or fishing without the kayak.
This year I have barely gotten out at all, let alone on the kayak.
Big changes are coming to my fishing channel regarding location having to do with some unpleasant personal stuff I am going through right now.

      Hi Santiago.
In this video I launched from a friendly marina on the PW side, which is farther from the rocks up by the dam and closer to the 95 bridge.
Now that it is boating season most powerboat marinas will not let you use their ramps due to being busy, and many site "liability issues" which is bs really.
You can launch from the Occoquan park across on the FFX side, this is a few hundred yards closer give or take, but FFX unjustly does not allow our Constitutional Right to carry firearms in their parks anymore so I don't go to their parks anymore, ever.
Another time I also launched from Oldtown Occoquan under the 123 bridge, their is a public kayak launch there but it is designed for lightweight hand carry kayaks only.
It was very tough to get my 150lb+ 120 PDL kayak down this launch, and then to pull it back up the floating platform afterward.
REALLY tough, due to the weight, you have to pull yourself up onto the platform by hand rails.
I do not recommend that launch unless you have lighter kayaks and help.
I would say the distance from my launch in this video, and the FFX side park, to the rocks near the dam is a mile give or take.
Took 15-30min of steady pedaling to get there, I didn't time it and tide going in or out makes a difference also.
It was physically taxing for my middle age out of shape self.
Good luck and don't fall in, this water is all very polluted lol.
