Squirrel Hunting on PUBLIC LAND - I Got BUSTED By a RARE SQUIRREL!
Переглядів 167Місяць тому
I took another chance to hunt these crafty fox squirrels back out in the National Forest. It was a tough morning of hunting, with tons of movement, lots of activity, and the first real change of color in the trees. These squirrels are getting crafty now that the leaves have started to fall...
The SNEAKIEST SQUIRRELS I've Ever Seen - PUBLIC LAND Squirrel Hunting
Переглядів 1052 місяці тому
The cold mornings are here, and that means that fall squirrel hunting season is in full swing! The weather really can affect the squirrels movement from day to day, and today was certainly no exception. Super chilly in the morning, and really warm just a few hours later, with clear skies all around really slows down the squirrels' pace for the day. But hey, it was still a fantastic day to be ou...
My First LIMIT Ever... on PUBLIC LAND! - Early Season Squirrel Hunting
Переглядів 6212 місяці тому
Early season squirrel hunting can be very unpredictable. Warm weather, things tend to sit still. Cold weather, everything is moving. Heavy wind? Forget about it... Today kinda bucked every one of those trends, and I ended up bagging my first-ever limit of Gray Squirrels, which was made so much more special because it was on public land!
Public Land HUNTING The BEST Day of Squirrel Hunting I've EVER HAD!

Won't even tell you what you didn't catch...😂There are many potential giants there.
Great video. I’m glad you got to catch SNEK . They are so good to eat . No fish taste , white flakes . Real good . What canal & area are you fishing in . I’m watching all your vids. I’m from there (Fl) you did awesome
Gran equipo
Always happy to see dragonflies when I am fishing. They prey on deer flies and mosquitoes, and having them around keeps the little biting bastards away.
You must be down from Williamsport, been looking at a map trying to figure it out lol.
Top bro
Casi casi 😮
this is some good content, keep it up brother
well done. what shotgun and barrel length?
It's an older Remington 870 SuperMag with a 28" barrel in this video.
Love it dude! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
What state?
I hunt primarily in Virginia. This was in the George Washington National Forest.
Great video I enjoyed it!
Crocs are really good for wet rock walking. I use them for fishing on wet jetties and the traction is surprising. I've fished the lake since I was a teenager but have never been below the dam.
Buen bagre
If you want to see some cool airplanes you could launch around Poquoson or Hampton in the Back River. The F22s from Langley AFB fly over Hampton and Newport News a lot, especially on clear weekdays. You can fish or launch at Gosnold's Hope Park in Hampton and get a great view, plus fish around the marsh.
Muy buem video
Around what area on the Rap are you at? Not exact but general areas on how far up or down
Do you fish the South Fork of the Shenandoah very much? That's where I spend most of my time...
Thanks for making this video! It was helpful in our decision to give this spot a try. We were there yesterday, it was our first time. The water level wasn't as deep as in your video. There was hardly any water over by that bigger spillway. Could see a couple large fish but the water was too shallow and too clear so they were pretty skittish. Biggest thing we caught was rock bass. Do they adjust the water levels here often? We'd like to tive it another shot sometime but don't want to make the drive if it's like it was today.
Thanks for the comment! That was also my first time up at Raystown Lake, but I use a few online tools to check water levels, tides, wind patterns, etc. before I take some of my longer trips to new spots. The USGS water data site is super handy, and the direct link to the meter at the dam is here: waterdata.usgs.gov/monitoring-location/01563200/#parameterCode=00065&period=P30D&showMedian=false You can see data for up to the last year on most pages on the USGS site. Good luck next time you head up there!
@@go2outdoors Very helpful, thank you!
Nice job :) Gladd to see you got some nice crabs! Thank you for your video!
What a beautiful place it is that you're fishing, it's really a shame that the snakeheads have taken over there too because they're so invasive, from what I've heard Koreans have set them free in the United States so they can eat them
Can you spot crabs on that fish finder? Their getting better and better so I'm hoping to see one that does soon if they don't already.
I honestly haven't tried to find out, but probably not. Crabs tend to stick right on the bottom, so you really wouldn't see them on sonar unless they were swimming, but then it'd be pretty much impossible to tell the difference between a crab or a small fish.
love the tactical crocks
Only a matter of time before you get your Dragon.
Fingers crossed!
Great gar lure youse braided roap unraveled or iv heard bandana even anything there teeth can snag in.Big shiny blades also.
Hook set is just skosh to soon.I usually dip tip poll realli g slack as i do then set.Iv gotten goos with frogs its hard not to set to fast is biggest thing gotta learn.....edit nice catch see you gave him longer gotem.
there are monsters by this damn great fishing here
I am interested in catching snake heads and live in Virginia how far up the Rap did you have to go?
I've fished several spots between Hopyard Landing and Tappahannock. Find the pads and hydrilla, and you'll find the snakeheads.
and the filets are the absolute best.
Next time try a casting spoon like a hopkins or sting silver or toss a gotcha plug. I use 30lb mono leader on those with no bite offs
Hey was this video recorded in August?
Gran captura
Great video, what a fantastic day to be out there! I think perhaps you should experiment with waiting another second or two before you set the hook. I give them a full 3-4 seconds after the take before drilling them. I say to myself "that's my frog and you can't HAVE it!" (whack them on the word have). Funny and remarkably effective. Keep it up!
Letting any go ruins your ecosystem.
What state is that lake in
Pennsylvania
Also try the Zman frog legs.
Keep at it. I have had days like this with snakeheads.
Here in Jersey, we are finding that the largemouths like to eat the snakehead fry, rather than the other way around.
@@andrewhayes1420 Absolutely true. Bass, catfish, and even some larger panfish LOVE to eat them… no sharp spines anywhere. Snakeheads are nowhere near the terrifying monster fish that the media wants people to believe. … blue catfish are actually a much bigger problem, but that’s a conversation that nobody wants to have, because of how THOSE arrived.
@@go2outdoors I think 10, 12 years ago, the fear was warranted. We simply did not know how their introduction would impact ecosystems, and invasive species have historically been terrible. In this instance it just...did not happen, and we need to move on. The hype has died down here, and only fishermen really care about them at all.
Man, watched the wake slash at that toad, love a hit right at the boat. Party on Wayne
Brother, if you can achieve a 50 percent hookup you are a master! I am far from it with the frog bite, but love the explosions, my current addiction
When you go to set the hook wait 5 seconds Also white is a great color to catch snakes My two favorite colors for them is white or black
That toad looks cool, but the body is kind of thick. (I pulled it up on Amazon) I'm not sure the hookup ratio is all that good. Zoom horny toads work well because they are thinner. What launch did you use if you don't mind sharing? Absolutely gorgeous morning.
I've used the toad to good effect on largemouth in the past, but yes, it is a bit thick for a lot of snakeheads to eat properly. They have rather small mouths for their size. As for the launch, I've been to five different spots on the Rapp at this point, and I can confidently say that if you find the pads and hydrilla, you'll find them... kinda want to keep this spot to myself for a little longer haha.
Going to this very lake in a few weeks......I hope to share in that success. Great catch.
instead of using lure i would recommend bait for catching snake head, try once u wont regrat it .
Gran captura
Your juices had to be flowing after that first hit
Every. Single. Time.
What a great morning to be alive and fishing

Great job, Adam! Gettn' it done.
