Made and freeze dried this. My family loved it thank you john.
Nice!!!! I'm going to try this one soon. Your intro music always makes me smile John! Wish you the best!
I made up 10 pounds of this today and it was delicious. Thank you.
Well done John, my kids are going to love it! I’ll have to double the batch so I have enough to freeze dry.
Thank you so much! This is a wonderful addition to our freeze drying culinary line-up - most of which is due to your tireless experiments and taste tests ! You are the best!
Thank you so much!
Awesome John, as soon as my tray dividers arrive, this is going in my freeze drier!
Smells yummy! fyi, an easy shredding chicken trick; put the chicken in a bowl and hit it with a hand mixer! Quick & Easy!
A tablespoon or two of the freeze dried velveeta would be perfect in this. Especially the jalapeno / pepper jack velveeta.
I do a recipe close to that. I do 2 cans black beans, 2 cans corn, 2 cans diced tomatoes and include the juice on all the cans. 1 can Campbells Cheddar Cheese Soup, chicken breast, 2 tablespoons taco seasoning and 2 tablespoons powder ranch dressing and slow cook all day, about 30 minutes before we eat I add a block of cream cheese and once it melts and mixes in we eat it with chips. You can spice it up if you like with jalapeños if you like. Everyone loves it. I don’t know but this maybe less expensive than the 2 jars of your salsa. It freeze dries great as well. I love all your inspiration. I have tried several of you ideas and tell my daughter to watch you as well. Be Blessed.
Thanks John. You have provided a lot of know how and greatly contributed to my FD stash. I often tinker with the recipes based on what I have on hand. I followed your basic recipe shown in the video and substituted green salsa for red and split the vegetables 50% corn and 50% peas and added in about 1.5 cups of amaranth. We shall see how it turns out. It is in the crock pot now. Thanks again.
Sounds great!
One of our family favorites, our recipe includes a brick of cream cheese. We eat with chips. I’m going to freeze dry a big batch after watching this. THANK YOU!
Sounds great!
Going to try this out next weekend! Looks awesome.
I found Sailor Boy Pilot Bread here in Washington State for $10.69/box. Sold through a local grocery store
That is awesome!
Can't wait to try. Thank you!!
Hope you enjoy
Excellent! I was wondering what to do with chicken breasts that wasn't boring. I love that you have great recipes even if you don't freeze dry.
I really really enjoyed this one. I did use Hot salsa so if you don't like heat I would recommend the medium or mild.
I really want to make and freeze dry some of this!!! Great job!
Thank you
I made this recipe of yours today and wow, what an amazing meal! I did cube my chicken instead of shredding because I'm a little lazy but it was still an incredible tasting meal.
Going to have to make a second batch to freeze dry because this batch isn't going to make it to the freeze dryer before it disappears.
Wonderful!
Terrific video, thank you John. I will be sure to make and freeze dry this recipe. Happy trails!
Hope you enjoy
Looks fantastic, can't wait to add to our freeze dryer list.
Hope you enjoy it!
John, how are you organizing your long term storage? I have been tossing my Mylar bags into totes, but I’m not really thrilled with it, so looking for ideas … plus, I am short on storage space, and am thinking you are, as well?
I am limited on space but it is just me and my brother. I store in cardboard boxes as I can not afford to buy the totes.
@@JohnInBibs Do you just toss them in chronological order, or do you have a sorting system? I’m really left brained and this should not be so challenging, but I find I’m more visual than I thought! 🤷🏻♀️
Looks yummy - if you don’t mind the carbs, would be good over rice or mashed potatoes 😋
Oh yes!
Hello John. What are your tray separators made out of? Cardboard, wood,…? Love the chicken. Just made it yesterday. TY
I bought them here: www.freezedryingsupplies.com/?rfsn=6730675.03c6c1
I made something like this but I put rice in it.
rice is nice
John , Try Skyflakes from the Phillipines
Interesting, I will have to try them!
How long is the shelf life?
I would think that this would last 30 years with proper packing and storage
Do you freeze dry the pilot bread? If so do you reconstitute it to eat?
I demonstrated this in the video. Pilot Bread is really a type of cracker
This is cooking right now! One little caveat … make sure you have a big enough crockpot. This will NOT fit in a 4-qt crockpot. It is now faster cooking on my stove top.
