Great video as always John, you just saved me a bunch of time and $ I was about to try to fd fettuccini myself, I'll stick to smaller pasta and egg noodles!

John did you do anything extra in cooking the egg noodles? Just the directions on the package or sit in the fridge in water like you did the mac and cheese noodles? Thanks for teaching me so many fun and interesting things to freeze dry. Your the best!!

No extra steps required for egg noodles, cook as directed and FD. They always do well rehydrating in about 4 to 5 minutes

Great video John! Gotta try this one too😊. One of our fav meals. Got to check out top mylar, I've heard good things about them, I've always used pack fresh USA with no problems but do like the smaller meal size. Thanks again, look forward to your videos!

I wonder if that would work with angel hair pasta

It works, but it works better if you break the pasta up into smaller pieces before cooking. It rehydrates better that way

Hi John. Nice video points on noodles. I recently did the Oliveiri 3 cheese tortellini (Costco) in homemade tomato and ground beef sauce. I used it camping and it took about 20 minutes of simmering to rehydrate it. Perhaps thats all your fettuccine needed (time) to rehydrate before adding to a sauce.

Yes you are correct. However for my meal pouches I want them to rehydrate in 5 minutes. That is why I changed noodles. Check out my Mac and cheese problem solved video to see how I do macaroni

John have you ever made and freeze dryer like cream of mushroom soup out of freeze dryer milk and mushrooms and how did it turn out? I know it’s a different subject but I often use it as cream sauce and would like to free dry it.
