- ''To all the Viewers, here are a few things I would like to mention about everything in this video, regarding which you might have some questions - This is the fastest version of Bleed till now on the Internet (136 BPM)
Firstly - I would like to give a special mention to my dear friend 'Josh Seguin' who is the Guitarist for Mute the Saint and his band P.D.P as his own cover video of this song was the source of inspiration for me in which he played this song at 130 BPM.It was his playing and that pushed be to take it further to 136 BPM in this video.
Secondly - The Solo part was recorded live and no digital Speed-ups were used for the whole song which is the Reason why I missed a few strokes here and there. The Sitar sounds a bit shabby because of 1 main reason - It has been forcefully tuned to D sharp where no Sitar is tuned because of a standard scale length. I have kept it all real and taken it as far as I could take it.
Thirdly - This cover is NOT at all to show off or like prove something , but just a sincere effort of putting something real which might be fun to watch and hear. This song became a part of my practice schedule so since I was able to push it , I wanted to give it a try. Love the original tempo's feel a lot, but here is just something which to me was an insane experience. Learnt A lot!
Can't wait to share my band's original music as you read it!
Thank you very much! - Rishabh Seen ''

When your Bard is the best character in your party:
The bard is a healer, support, DPS, sub DPS, tank and can play infant annihilator on a harp, sounds accurate
"what kind of bard going to the front line?"

03:19 - 03:33 Good harmonization ! Less dark, more epic.
How you keep the rhythm at that speed is insane, well done hope you do more!
+A Sloth Music theory and the drums keep the beat so that's how I would do it
+Rishabh Seen dude you are such a god !!!! i dont know how many times i play the reply button . but what you is the most amazing thing !!!! even though i am indian but my guitar sucks . would love to work you dude !!!!
+Rishabh Seen this is insanely awesome. I'm mos def going to be ordering your album on the first day of release.
+Rishabh Seen Hey There you are! have a subscription mate :]
he missed at 1:54
Now, if we could only get somebody like Zakir Hussein to accompany on the tabla. Funny thing is Zakir would be yawning playing this; he's just that insane.
Exactly.
I would pay good money to see that...
Jon Richt oh ya! I want his autograph 🙈
Hahah, huge metal and Indian Classical music man myself. Yeah, this will be a breeze for him. I've seen the legend live, and man, does his fingers make 'Bleed' easy to play. But, that'll be a great sight!
He is playing tabala. Doing the bleed groove on a tapping instrument is relatively easy. On a keypad almost anyone can play it with practice.. Sure its hard as hell - you need all 10 fingers for that.. But this groove and rhythm is done on a drum set. The thing that he is playing is played on kick drum.. With snare hits on each cycle and constant cymbal crash. And ghost notes. You need each limb working independently for that. Go watch it live.
Phone Manufacturers: We don't need to push more than the insane 120Hz screens already available since no human motion for movies can realistically be faster than that.
SitarGuy:
Man, this is killer. Very well performed, and what a fun challenge to speed it up!
+Maximiliam Andersson u realize this is normal speed?
Will Smith - no, it's not. Bleed's original tempo's at 115BPM, this sped up version is about 137~bpm.
Are you serious?!? If he goes any faster his right hand will come off and fly around the room like a helicopter
Great job Rishab!!!
+Rishabh Seen you're way better
+Rishabh Seen I would love to see you covering a Dream Theater song, such as Stream of Conciousness 😱
+Sahil Makhija Hail Demonstealer!
HOLY FUCK ITS YOU
The solo at 4:29 goes pretty damn well with the original song!
respect! That guy is underrated a lot.
Tried to play sitar myself - to learn even the sit position takes 2 years XD
It took me 1 month 😂. Started at 12 yrs age tho
Bleed. What my fingers would do if i attempted this. lol AMAZING work!
some people live in a fast forward reality they see all of us slow.....REALLY S L O W
Zach Hill is a good example.
Jeremih Hopkihns
I want a Death Grips/Meshuggah mash-up.
I love how you look relaxed playing at such speed. We can see you practiced this a lot. Huge compliments to you sir!
I never thought that a traditional indian instrument could make such awesome metal music.
Keep rocking \m/
check out himalaya massive ritual by igorrr, some rlly cool sitar in it

WWWOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is freaking AWESOME! I can't imagine the calluses you must have on your right hand! Thanks for this share! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EPIC!!! BRAVOOO BRavooo......More more more please! Your posture & seat is perfect!
Spiritual Metal, all authentic music come together in the heart of sound actors,
Thanks for your performance 🔥🔥🤘😎🌀
This is inspiring!! To see an artist break down cultural barriers with a fresh take on such a complex song is truly inspirational and something that should be commended. I applaud you sir.
Well good music generally has no barriers.
4:30 when the solo starts it sounds really really original as Fredrik always uses Indian scales and modes in solos! Great job man!
Awesome Just Awesome !!! Looking Forward to your Band's Debut Brother !!!
How have I not seen this.
This is gonna be on in my wedding 😈 🤘🏼
I love Indian classical Music and Progressive Metal, so hearing that you want to bring up an album with that makes my heart bump. :)
Ooooooooooooooooo shhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiittt man this is fucking awsome, it's incredible how the sitar sound and the hammering meshugga's drums fit so perfectly! keep rocking man we want more!
This guy gives off the same energy as that Mongolian guy on the mountain singing about Genghis Khan.
Great going!
Nice technique, my friend... and thank you for the honorable mention! Rishabh, you slay!
At 2:36 i feel like that was the moment this become less of a performance and more just playing. A certain level of comfort was reached I feel and you really started to shine. Well done, an amazing thing to watch. Thank you
what a colorful interpretation ... awesome ... keep on rocking
TOTAL RESPECTS !! INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
You're the best.
cool experimental sitar.
hello from Japan
Dude, you killed it I absolutely love your version. The fact that you played harmonies instead of the actual parts makes your version even more epic !! Great job and looking forward to hear your album ;)
this is absolutely amazing! love to see more in the future! :)
Oh God. That was beast! Keeping up that tempo must've been tough. seriously, best of luck with your future projects man, best of luck.
It sounds so odd, I don't know if I like it or I hate it.
well if it'd be put in the mix properly, it'd sound much better, imagine that!
Sure it sounds odd. The last solo, it totally ruined it. It kinda changed the feel of the song. The player is skilled without any doubt but it wasn't necessary to put layer of sitar on entire song unit by unit. That made it odd. Well unfortunately this fusion didn't go well.
I thought this would be garbage (like the original song [comence flaming[), but just the sitar on its own could be a song with a few tweaks. Very nice!
It was a good cover, don't get me wrong, but it had issues. Playing it faster doesn't mean your better, it just ruins the song. And the sound of this sitar seems off to me. Sounds much better with a 8 string guitar tuned at drop Z.
Dick Baguette I think what's most important here is your username is fantastic.
[Edit]: Also, Kirk is your lord and savior.
Not so sure about the increased tempo, but other than that, this is awesome.
This is awesome, bloody love it!!
Absolutely fantastic playing, but I'd much rather hear this with some traditional drums rather than the original track played behind (even granted that it's faster than the album version). This feels just like a glimpse into the potential that this kind of music could have. I am highly anticipating the Mute the Saint album next year.
7 mins of torturing your fingers! total awesomeness!!! \m/
awesome man just keep doing these kinds of stuff👌👌👌 I loved it
This is great! It makes the song sound even MORE menacing! Bravo! :D
The speed is there, but the essence of meshuggah's groove lies in the strumming. In this case, after a while it gets boring to listen to. Also better mixing would take things up a notch. Dig the solo though! Keep em coming.
+Meenal Dutt for a moment i thought i was the only one....credits to the attempt of taking sitar in other styles...
+Meenal Dutt As far as the mixing, it sounds like it will be more appropriately mixed in the music on their own album, based on the teaser. So I think this is more just to showcase that he's actually playing everything haha.
+Meenal Dutt You know what else is repetative? UA-cam experts on everything...
+Meenal Dutt I agree with you, and you wrote what I was thinking. As experienced musicians, we hear things others do not. It's easy for a layman to say "everyone on youtube" thinks they're an expert; I disagree with that replier, because laymen often place themselves on the same level as experts in social media---thus neglecting to credit people with actual knowledge of a topic----even when we're as positive as we can possibly be. Keen observation. I take it you're a guitarist? :)
+David Braucht It sounds like Meenal Dutt actually knows something about playing. I felt that his input was relevant and valid. He doesn't sound like he's out of line. For someone to blow an experienced, valid opinion off as typical social media fodder says that you place experts and novices at the same level, simply because the feedback is on social media. That shows a shallow investment and intellect, at best. The sitar player is great, and he does need to work on his feel. The speed and accuracy are there. I'd like to hear it slowed down... then we could really tell. That's the best tool for improvement--listening back at modified speeds---when you're getting to these levels of musicianship.
This is heavy stuff! Keep up the great work. Please cover Domination by Pantera.
Meshuggah with a Sitar. . I did't think was even physically possible. Excellent work!
now i wanna learn to play sitar
Is there a version with only the sitar?
No.
i watch this at least once a year. so good man
Love it! Thank you, and Rock on Bhaji:)
I never thought a sitarist would jam to _Between the Buried and Me._ Well done, truly.
when you love djent and this is only instrument you play.
"Bleed" sounds friggin awesome at 136 BPM, actually.
That's amazing! Good work! :)
This is awesome and I love it! I'd bet almost anything that having someone on tablas would be a very special treat! Keep up the good work!
I gess I've now seen everything in this life
Amazing work dude. That is insane.
Absolutely awesome :) Huge respect for doing this song specifically!
Can we get this video without the original overlayed? it really distracts from hearing the sitar
I love the sound of the Sitar, and I love Meshuggah but this just sounds messy as hell
E Schur it wouldn't have been messy if he would have focused on incorporating elements of sitar here and there, modifying it and giving it a different sound as a whole instead of putting it on top of it piece by piece in order to flaunt his skills. The last solo that was trying to change the feel of the song.
This is incomputably commendable!!
Sir, this is awesome. Big love from England. You rock. Peace
Why is the god damn tempo so fast if it's going to sound like shit. I feel like this could be so much better...
+Rishabh Seen Hey man.
First of all, congrats for the performance ! I think it's great to mix metal and sitar. and you did a great performance. ;)
Even though I don't think this sounds like "shit" like Astonix said, I think he has a point in saying that it's too fast. See, IMO, Bleed is perfect with the original BPM. If it's sped up, you lose all the groove that makes it one of the best metal songs ever written. I'd love to hear you do other Meshuggah covers, perhaps the ones that features more melody like Straws Pulled at Random, Hacride Placidity or even The Last Vigil. I guess you could achieve quite something using the drony sound of sitar. And if you do so, please use the original BPM haha.
cheers !
ps : some other covers from Tool, Cult of Luna, Amenra, would be great too !
already know those. :) liked them but would prefer covers from the bands I mentioned, hahaha :P
keep up the good work !
+Rishabh Seen Please don't take my criticism personal by any means. Between the original song playing in the background sped up, and you not being able to keep up with the song, it just sounds like a mess. I'd love to hear it without the backtrack and at the original bpm because I think it would sound way way way better.
not bad.
Dude, this was crazy amazing, keep it up!
Dude, love it!! Sitar and Metal who would've thought? This is sick!!! \m/
lol were you aiming for the lotus postion (or whatever it's called) of the figure on the ObZen album cover..?
That's the posture for the sitar
Fuck your ears
That is how you sit while playing sitar. Also the position you speak about is padma-aasan (lotus-posture)
No that's how you sit when you play a sitar
Osama Bin Shreddin'
Djentin
Bro great intensity !!!! Shows on Ur face that speed of plucking!
Absolutely brilliant!
why the hell would you increase the tempo?, really sounds a skit on hindu mythology is being played and this it the background music.
He played it too fast so he had to increase the tempo of the playback.
some might think he changed the tempo in post, but he has headphones in. he probably just learned that version of the song. who knows, maybe he just wanted to get the finger torture done and over with a bit faster.
"It's not accurate" "It could sound better" hahaha you people in Western music could learn from Rishab's playing as guitarists, drummers, or bassists. And he's humble enough to admit it's not supposed to be Meshuggah so much as an experiment in musical learning. Oh man that solo section.
coloredCYANIDE at least one person got it right...
No we shouldnt. Sitar is way different than bass and guitar.
"Experimenting" is not an excuse to pretend everything you do is sounding right. In fact it's quite the opposite. And this sounds "meh".
No hate.
There’s also the fact that there is no rhythm that is similar to the original other than him stopping and starting at the right times, partially acceptable solo non withstanding. The riff for the entire song is done as a combination of sixteenth and thirty-second notes. All he is doing is sixteenths for an impressive amount of time non stop, however as he is barely even playing the same rhythm as the original it has no depth to it. The reason people are saying things like “it could be better” are because it would be infinitely better if he actually learned the rhythm for all of the song. There is a reason people are saying it isn’t accurate, because it just isn’t accurate. If a song is written with a specific pattern, taking some artistic liberties is acceptable, however changing it completely like it is done here makes it either the wrong song, or played incorrectly.
Brother Rishabh! You killed it as usual!! .... Arindam!
Man, that was awesome! Your rhythm is spot-on :)
1) The song sounds much, much worse at this tempo, I don't care that it is harder to play this way : speed =/= good music.
2) Maybe it's the tuning, maybe the fact that you let us hear the original on top of your recording, or maybe it's just because it's a sitar, but I don't hear the attack of your notes. The rhythm of Bleed is lost to me because the attacks are so muddy.
In a nutshell, great work but I would have prefered to hear only the sitar at the original tempo.
Rishabh Seen It doesn't sound nearly as good as you think it does. The groove is completely lost when you play at this speed. The whole point of Meshuggah's sound is groove and to make you want to bang your head, not speed pick everything and make it an annoying drone of noise.
This is just annoying after like 30 seconds
This guys has so much skill it's unbelievable. This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen/heard
Namaste ... I found myself again ... Thanks for that great masterpiece !!!
You tried, but this suck mate
10.000th like

Awesome sitar cover!!!
My hat's off to you sir. That is some fine work there. And there is nothing wrong with showing off a bit when you got skill. I highly doubt anyone would fault you for that. You might even inspire someone. Keep it up.
I love this cover of Bleed, awesome job dude.
Absolutely awesome.
