I have such a coin. It was in a terrible condition, so I treated it with a special liquid for silver coins, deliberately destroying the patina. This experiment was only partially successful. Not everything could be removed in this way. I was so aware that mechanical manipulations would only destroy the coin. Fortunately, it is covered with a beautiful patina and again looks as if it was made of gold.
I have a cameo accented hair at PCGS now currently getting graded. It's got me in suspense just waiting for final grade
