Hey Richard, when restoring your wheels first set up an electrolysis tank and leave each wheel in for a day or so, it may take 2. When you pull it out power wash it, that should remove most of the paint/ rust dry it off then blast it. Change your electrolysis fluid and put in the next wheel. Works great and much quicker. Just blasting takes forever. Working on a set of 15x5 impala wheels right now myself. Good luck and God bless!
That's really the way to do it. Have you compared electrolysis to a vinegar soak? I've don vinegar a million times. Thank you for the kind words & the thoughtful comment. I hope your impala turn out great!
@@freemansgarage I've used vinegar to clean out rusty gas tanks. I restore old machinery that means big parts and lots of vinegar. Electrolysis became my go to. Love the videos by the way! God bless America and Freeman's garage!
i wish they kept the 15inch rims in 57. its so hard to find reasonably priced 14inch tires, especially whitewalls. i guess i could try to put 15inch rims
You're right. These are 70s-80s factory GM steelies, very close to '56 rims. They're the best alternative to original '56 wheels or costly reproductions, which aren't 100% accurate. They have the nubs for 10" factory dog dish caps, and '56 caps fit. However, they don't have the outer nubs for full wheel covers. I appreciate your comment. Thanks for hanging out.
It leaked bad ua-cam.com/video/_gb3crvnfuc/v-deo.html
Great work
Thanks
Hello freeman great video go with black walls like the jeans thank you ken
You're currently being outvoted on the sidewalls it seems. The new jeans don't have AC. That's the problem.

I think you might qualify for a accurate diagnosis of OCD. But it’s cool. Most OCD guys do good builds. 💯
It's a blessing & a curse.
I prefer the white walls out.
I prefer black walls out.
It's a hard decision.
I can't decide.

I get it. I don't see why 15s wouldn't work .
Definitely roll with 4” white walls. This car doesn’t look correct without them, and they aren’t hard to clean. 💯
I can't argue with that.
I wouldn't put the 5th wheel in the trunk because there's no floor in there.
LOL.
I was thinking the roof. Baja racer.
Paint the wheels
It's on the list. I appreciate your comments.
car looks 1000 better with white walls
I does doesn't it?
Those are not original 56 rims. The valve stem is too small where is goes through the rim. Also, I didn't see any hubcap nubs around the out rim lip.
