My gosh. The noise this mammoth SUV makes is intoxicating. I could listen to it all day. You guys looked like you were having fun. If I had that kind of money, I'd bite.
Nah, imagine black, smoked wheels and lights, and just those super bright headlamps. That would be the ultimate Walter White machine. And he could intimidate you with only the never ending burble.

Great for McMansion renovation hobbiests zipping between happy hour and Home Depot. Would love to see a snow tire-equipped, driven on snow test of some modern high performance vehicles.
I couldn’t agree more on your take. I’ve wanted them to build an Escalade V for so long. Now that they have, I’m stuck wondering “why”. GM & “Murica”. That’s why. 🤷🏼♂️🤣 I’d much prefer a 3.0l duramax. You guys made me nervous taking the king-sized bed set around those corners!
GM engineers are wonderfully open to talking, and seemingly really good at talking for a less-technical audience. Every time they agree to come on, they've benefitted the video.
If a $180k car doesn’t make you smile every time you drive it, it’s not worth $180k. And given that fact, I get the entire point of the Escalade V. It might actually justify the cost of entry
Super Cruise was NOT available for the first batch of these being made. Every one built after October 2 will be coming with Super Cruise. All supplies went into the Lyriq launch in May. That's why I waited until that restriction was lifted especially at its price point. The only thing 100% discontinued for the remaining 23 models is the adaptive headlamp system. I was able to secure an order for one at msrp and with my trade in on an older model Escalade that I was offered, I said fuck it let's do it. If I couldn't land one at msrp, no way would I be buying this. Mark ups I got through roughly 10 dealerships ranged from 60-100k. The ones selling at msrp, their lists are massive and one of the biggest dealerships in my area said at least a 4 year wait(130+ waitlist). Every single reviewer I've seen cover this car, when driving have a huge smile on their faces. This is my obnoxious send off to ICE. I'll be getting 7 mpg the way I'll be driving mine probably but fuck it, life is short, enjoy it while you can.
Have loads of fun. I can't really fault you for going for it. By the time I could even think about affording one of these, vehicles like this will be long gone.
When everyone is driving a cheap EV with barely any sound insulation you’ll be blasting down the hammer lane with this cargo train screaming at 6k rpm and there’s not a damn thing any one of those pawns can do about it. American dream.
Yeah, the engineer who tuned the Escalade V exhaust deserves the gold medal for obnoxiousness. Truly world class levels of giving an auditory middle finger to the world. Just practice saying, "But officer it's stock!"
Are you looking for a new chauffeur? I will relocate, I'm a beast behind the wheel, and I'm a pro when it comes to the logistics of choosing the most ideal route, etc. I will gladly switch careers to drive this puppy!
I've driven both the 2022 & 2023 Escalades for extended distances & have been a passenger in all areas of them - they are by far my favorite large SUV. I've driven the CT5 Blackwing as well (manual) and it's in my top 5 all time favorite cars I've driven (blows the Hellcats away BY FAR!!). I'm super excited to drive this & I love they built this. I hear the 392 Durango's all the time and they are louder than this Escalade V - but the Durango's are BEYOND obnoxiously loud to the point where it doesn't even sound good - at least those that harass our local town....
Love the review, especially ALL of the technical details, thank you!! I now have a CT5V BW and the Escalade V, both 2024. They make AMAZING noises!!! And both are a BLAST to drive!! The ride on the Esc V is FANTASTIC, the luxury, the handling (for a big gurl), the noises….and the BRAKES! Love them both!!
