Using quality cables and connectors is super important. Just don't fall for the "Monster Cable" trap. You don't need to spend a ton of money on "the best" cables. I always look for Switchcraft or Neutrik connectors on new cables. This is often a sign that the manufacturer is using industry-standard, quality components on their cables. Touring-grade cables often provide the most robust construction, but you can often get by with a good quality "musician-grade" cable if the construction quality is good. For longevity, I prefer braided shield on my cables, but it isn't required for good sound - they just tend to hold up better over time.
You guys should do mixing step in one video, so viewers can understand more deep into mixing stuff. Starting from balancing to ready for mastering. So many video about mixing step i've seen on youtube but none of them really showing whats need to be done.
What can us, smaller churches who can't afford to pay for a course like this one, do to improve our mixes. Specially when our venues give us feedback problems in almost every frequency?
Or also, sometimes we get lucky to get no feed back, but then turn on the monitors and the problem gets worse, specially with singers or preachers who want more volume, such that the monitors sound louder than the main speakers. It's stressful.
One thing to add can be failing cables or a mix of cable brands where you grab one brand over another and find differences.
So true.
True and been experiencing this problem using failing xlr cables.
