Lindsey is THE most underrated guitarist of all time.
This is when FLEETWOOD MAC seriously jammed 😅😊
I saw them the first time in 1975 and got the shock of my life. I expected to hear them sounding like their albums. I thought they would be like getting hit with some jabs but instead ran into Mike Tyson. Everything they did was like this. Saw them again around 77 and again big punches. Both were outside. Great reaction. Most never notice his picking style. It is unique.
If you're just discovering Fleetwood Mac, you've been missing out. They were a pivotal group in the English blues rock scene of the late 60s. Then they crashed the southern California rock scene in the 70s, with Buckingham &Nicks. In the 80s, they hit MTV and the pop charts. The three singwriters/singers have also had solo works. Lindsey Buckingham is a vastly underrated guitarist, phenomenal in both acoustic and electric.
I hope you've enjoyed Lindsey Buckingham's solo albums in the 00's, as much as I do!
@@thomasdempsey721 They're fantastic - not many still creating on such a high level 30, 40 and now 50+ years into a career. Happy to know he's working on another.
@@caps689 Loved the recent self-titled release, and Buckingham/McVie. And--- you say another is coming!?!
Stevie better get off her ass, and start writing some songs! LOL.
Saw Lindsey solo in Toronto, early 00's....he was awesome.
Glad you guys liked it.
That was a great, raw performance by FM.
Nice '70's summer California vibe too.
You guys should definitely react to Fleetwood Mac's The Chain 1982! their best live performance on video
Brilliant track…..brilliant
The live versions of I'm So Afraid are all extraordinary though it got much much longer. The Live in Boston one from 2004 is almost 10 minutes and it's one of the best though the best IMO is the one from Cleveland 1980 on the Live Album. (alas no video) Buckingham is 26 here. He wrote the music when he was 20-21 when he was ill for a year and the lyrics at 24 after his father died. It was intended for the 2nd Buckingham Nicks album but when he and Stevie joined FM it and several other BN songs went on the FM (1975) album.
Some Live Performances to watch:
The Chain 1982 (Mirage Tour) (not the perfect record version but so passionate and intense with more great guitar work)

Agreed, the definitive version is Cleveland 1980.
Too bad there were no close up shots of Christine McVie so you guys could've seen her singing with Lindsay and Stevie. The three of harmonize so well, together. Lindsay takes a lot of influence from Country and Bluegrass music which is why he prefers to play without a guitar pick. He shared that info in a Rolling Stone magazine interview. This song is so good and they performed it with perfection! Cool reaction, guys.💜
More folk than country but also classical and early rock. He also learned at 6 or 7 listening to records (started with Elvis and Scotty Moore) and imitating so he didn't even know he needed a pick or how to hold his hands. He said he just did what sounded right and continued to do that even when he knew better.
Mark Knopfler, lead guitarist and frontman for Dire Straits is another one famous for playing fingerstyle lead guitar, and playing with RIDICULOUS technical ability, soul, melody, and a very unique tone all his own.
My favourite Dire Straits concert video is from Rockpalast, 1979. Lots of deep cuts from my favourite Dire Straits album, *Communique* . I recommend ‘News’, ‘Lady Writer’, ‘Down To the Waterline’, ‘Where Do You Think You’re Going?’, ‘Single-Handed Sailor’, and ‘Once Upon A Time In the West.’ In that order, from that show.
Lindsay Buckingham is awesome!
Fleetwood Mac Sisters Of The Moon live from 1982 Mirage tour 👍
Well you have to listen to Lindsy doing BIG LOVE and IM SO AFRAID to appreciate Fleetwood mac more.
Just found y'all! I've liked and subscribed. FM is one of my favorite bands. Along with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Boston, Steely Dan and many more. Gentlemen you really need to see "I'm So Afraid" from The Dance - it's decades later and I'd love to see your take on how they just got better year after year! You can't go wrong with ANY song from The Dance, well any Fleetwood Mac song.
Welpcome !
@@WelpHereWeAreOnUA-cam Thank you! Welp,😂 I'm glad to be aboard.
Performed in Santa Barbara California my Dad's hometown
Cool cool awesome tuné by the Mac and LIVE' version is even better 🎸🥁👍🏻
They crushed that trac...
Watch some early Peter Green years! Also Mr Mac was on Bass not drums.
Since you gave me a shout out for calling you 'ignorant' , I've gotta' make some requests!
Try "Red Rover" from Fleetwood Mac's last album, 2003's Say You Will.
...."Hypnotized" from 1973's Mystery To Me.
..."Come A Little Bit Closer" from 1974's Heroes Are Hard To Find.
Cheers from Sudbury, ON!
oh AND, from 1969''s Then Play On, "The Green Manalishi (with the Two-Pronged Crown).
Pfft. I was there. Fabulous times. 🌈💕✨
Go to the version from the 1980 live album. Oh god!
I personally preferred Fleetwood Mac when they werent making very commercial top 40 rock/pop.
I find some of their more alternative stuff like this way more interesting.
And Lindsay Buckingham would be one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.
Check out this live from Boston no comparison.
This version doesn't hold a candle to the dance version in 97
Guys, you should watch the dance 1997. Comeback tour launch. Filmed in Burbank studios, with an audience. It's a great show. If you haven't heard Rhiannon live on midnight special 1976, please do so ..
The one from the album the dance live is way better and big love is also a great song same album
Wrong version
The only wrong version is the truncated recorded in the wrong pitch 1975 album version. All the live versions are just different flavors and degrees of awesome.
"Rhiannon" live--watch the whole video, the album version does not do justice to the song compared to the live version.
