I have a ace 200 and love it! Went out to the park this morning and in 2 hrs found 3 quarters, one dime and four pennies, all modern but fun never the less!
Just got my ace 400. I like it very much. I've about dug my rear off with all the old nails on my place. They are fun to locate but now I need to learn how to discriminate the old metals. I've found barb wire old copper wire broken plow points ect. No silver yet but I'm learning. Lots of fun.
Thanks guys just watched kC and ringies video and ordered my first detecter an ACE 400 can't wait to start an 66 years old and have always wanted one!!
I know Im randomly asking but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Korbyn Carson thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
You guys are demonstrating the point others have made. Know your machine really well, what it will do, and use good searching and hunting techniques. This shows that you don’t need an expensive, high-tech machine to have fun with the sport and be successful - yes, I get it, some folks do need and want that, but there are others that will do just fine with a well-made $200 machine. These Ace models have been around for a long time and are still good sellers, and for good reason. Thanks for showing this!
It's all about the thrill of the chase. And I'm finding the exercise is much different from my general working out stuff..... sore in places I don't focus on in "workouts", then there's just the pattern of findings. History. That's the reward. Knowing you've uncovered the past and a part of a story. I'll take this kind of dig any day. I didn't get into this hobby with expectations of buried riches. The riches are my time spent and a sense of accomplishment.
Nice video. I have 40 years experience in THing. Funny thing about inexperienced detectorists....they think that detectors manufacture targets and we know bwttwe that the machines can find things if properly used. Typical claim in advertising is "I found this coin with an ABC metal detector." Does that mean that other brands won't find it? Advertisements are misleading as I have discovered. More targets will be found with proper search techniques with a good detector that is properly used. Lots of variables such as technique, batteries, ground conditions, etc. can lead to more or less finds...if the target is under the ground LOL. Treasure is where treasure is. This hobby is highly technical and esoteric. I find it relaxing and rewarding in many ways. Thank you for the great video!
I just got my Ace 300 today! I bundled, so I got all the accessories with it. OMG, I had a blast in my yard with my 11 year old daughter. Our house was built in the 90's 1/2 Acre so far we found tons of pennies, and old crushed up beer cans Lol, but we still had so much fun. I can't wait to go to better locations. You just have to dig it all up, that's the thrill of the hunt.
This makes me want to check my yard. I had not wanted to because of nails and other junk but since I accidentally dug up an old style GI Joe guy that made me think there might be some surprises out there. The house was built after WWII so it might have some silver coins. Thank you for the inspiring video!
Susan Farley// Dad Named Ron work at Two Guys in NE Philly circa late 1970's?// Anyway I agree especially a second owner of the House....Get a mid range Metal Detector or Borrow one see if you like it .
@@zed332l I am still learning to use my new Garrett detector. Don't know anyone locally that detects. It is annoying because it beeps when it brushes up against a weed sticking up higher than the grass or anything else (nonmetallic that brushes against it.) I just got to get used to it.
It's awesome to see someone do a video on the Ace 300 which I currently own. You answered a nagging question for me as to why it double dings. Surface or shallow find. The only videos on the 300 were the instructional video and a couple where it is being used. Yours was very helpful and I appreciate it. Not everyone can afford an AT Pro or newer but for us Po Folks this Ace 300 really does a great job. My Dad had a military funeral way back in the early 80's. My son and I went to the cemetery, a 5 hour drive, and we managed to pull six spent cartridges from the 21 gun salute. In my opinion that was worth the price of the detector. Found all kinds of neat stuff so I am very happy with my Ace 300. Thanks again for a really good video. Good luck, happy hunting and God Bless.
My Dad had a Military Funeral in 2017 that was a great idea you and your son had. I am definitely going to check his grave site over looking the North Carolina Mountain's Thanks 😊
Just bought the 400 and pin pointer about 2 weeks ago and found some silver coins in my yard and a park. Your video cleared up a lot of questions I had about the 400. Can't wait til next weekend to use it again. Thanks Steve and Miguel.
I have an ACE 400, and had it for a while now, so much info provided in this video. Glad someone finally done a video on how good the ACE series is, and you don’t have to spend all that money on the other machines to find good stuff. 👌
By far the best vid i have seen concerning metal detecting. You guys are very informative and thorough in explanation and product functions. I have been wanting to get in this hobby for some time now and because of this vid i am excited and convinced in proceeding with my decision. Thank you very much!
Great tips and finds. I bought the ACE 400 last year and have made some nice finds, I bought the AT MAX a couple months ago and still learning to use it. I still use my ACE and carry it for back up and when I get tired of swinging the MAX.
Hi from France, many thanks to Garrett to invent some reliable and easy machines to use. I get a lots of fun with my Garrett detectors. I love this hobby. This hobby rewind my mind. All The Best.
Really well done educational video. Doing a video like this makes it as if you are a newbie out there hunting with a couple of experts and you are learning as you go. More videos like this would be good.
Hi from France. Throught a Hoover Boys UA-cam video i discovered the AT pro. I bought one, then i bought : the Pro-pointer AT, the ace 400i , the AT Gold and now the AT Max. i I love the garrett products ; they are reliable and i get a lots of fun with its. All the best for everyone.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm 43 yrs old and I've always wanted to own a metal detector. This week I used some Christmas money and ordered an ACE 250. I can't wait to try it out. I live in North Carolina now but grew up in Louisiana. I really want to get back to south Louisiana with the detector. I have access to a couple hundred acres with some old home sites that have never been searched.
S Britton Your going to love that 250. I know I love mine. Hey, use that pinpoint feature. It works great. I did come in seconds, with minimal digging.

You guys are spot on! I like how you guys really show your typical average detecting spots. Thats how it is for me anyways. You do get lucky though and occasionally run across some older sites with some real nice coinage and relics. Thanks for the breakdown guys! Beeb Beeb!
For years I've been using the Garrett Ace 350 and never found so much so fast. It's very stable and goes deep. I wouldn't use a detector that doesn't have the patented Belltone feature, which is the sound of money. The unit is an extension of my arm and I have 1000s of field experience with it.
Bought an Ace 400 last Feb. had problems with it got disgusted so in Oct. I bought the Max & love it. Ground rock hard now so have to wait till Spring.
Bought my first detector and I bought the ace 300 and I love it..!!!....Getting to understand the solid tone, my question is what are the Boxes that are attached to the shaft? and what does it do? Love Garrett Detectors and will tell anyone wanting to start detecting, Garrett is the way to go. Thanks Guys great video..!!! Chad Black
Love the videos and I love watching you two guys in particular metal detect together. Love Garrett metal detectors I have owned several. Great video guys keep up the good work.
I agree, but would also add, I would enjoy seeing Rusty, too. I've found him to be a great human being. He "shoots straight" and demonstrated over the years he cares more about people and relationships, than simply steering me to a purchase. I consider him a great man. Be Blessed 🙌
I still have my ace 250 even though I upgraded a couple of times, it's a good value dependable machine that I use as a loaner for friends to try and as a backup for me. I like finding keys as I make them into fishing lures😉
That looks like a nice machine I own 3 or four Garretts, The best one I own purchased over 40 years ago the AT3 Underwater/land Bell-Tone but the years of using it took a toll on it. I have it standing in the corner and by anybody's' standard it's an Antique.
I'm just getting started, though my cord on my headphones broke while adjusting for my head. Customer service was great to arrange to send me a replacement with an RMA to send back the broken one. I will prefer to get the wireless as soon as I can. I'm going to have to get a couple other accessories that you guys are using. Helpful video. Thanks. I've got the 300, by the way.
Hello just wanted to say thank u i just got the at pro and love it i used to go years ago with my dads whites detector and really am back into bad again great info!!!!
Just bought my first detector. After loads of research I decided on the ace 400. Can't wait for it to arrive, in the meantime I'll be watching your videos to try to learn some stuff.
I still don't know what Miguel Ardito's role at Garrett is but to me he *IS* Garrett. haha. I'm glad you are helping the Ace people, but I sure was happy upgrading to AT Pro., and even happier upgrading to AT Max.
That was a nice video. I am going to have to invest in a 5 X 8 for my 400 I guess. Congrats to Miguel on his gold ring. Have not found one with the Ace yet, but have found a silver ring. Thanks for the tips. Garrett rocks as usual.
yea, what a great coincidence they had the camera going and focused when he found the gold ring. i guess perhaps his "never doubt the machine" principle paid of.
I bought an Ace 350 several years ago and got it out for the first time this season in Minnesota. Found a 1902 Indian Head within 30 minutes. Fun times.
Good demonstration.. I just ordered the 400 as my first detector. A couple buddies of mine were telling me I screwed up and should have gotten the AT Pro- this gives me hope on my purchase- Thx!
Greetings from California 🌴Great video guys. I love the Garrett Metal Detector I have been swinging the Garrett Ace 250 for many years. I like using the sniper coil. Very good in trashy areas. It pulls out change like candy. Best of luck on your next hunt.....Frank
My wife and I got 2 new ACE 300. for christmas. Love them. We were using an inferior machine and the ACE300 is like a Cadillac. Garret machines are the best !!! Happy hunting Randie and Lajune Jones
Hey Steve, nice to put a face to the name. 😎 Some good tips there guys. Although I primarily will be using the AT Max now I started with the Ace 250 and found over 1,000 coins with it in my first year of detecting ...its what got me hooked on the hobby and I always called it “my coin magnet”.
Thanks guys! I have a ace 400 and the wireless too! Needed some tips... Congrats Miguel! I found two rings so far but nothing like that... Love Garrett Products!
hermit dan I'm in VA. the coil works great, targets can be found deeper, target id is a lot better then the stock coil. It's also more durable then Garrett's coil. the tabs on the coil to mount to the lower rod are a lot thicker.
Nice video. Love the skit at the end busting on KG & Ringy. “I am the man” and “prob was killed by a rabid squirrel” haha. We just added the ace 400 to the lineup for 2018. We will start getting some family hunt videos up when the ground thaws.
Your "lawn full of coins" reminds me of a guy I worked with. He said when he wanted a little alone time with his wife, he threw all the coins he had in his pocket into the front yard and told the kids to go hunting!
Great video guys!! I own a Garrett gta 1000 for years good old machine no doubt. So I hunted this old football field dug up a punch of clad coins and had a great day with my 7old daughter. But then I got a ace 300 right before Christmas and hunted that same quarter to half of that football field again and pull out at least 25 more coins no silver but I was so impressed with the new technology in defectors today . Can wait to go dirt fishing again.
The yard at 33:00 I have had a similar experience found over 30 pennies. Then found out That the parents had easter egg hunts in the front including pennies.
Very good video I really enjoyed all the good info I received from watching it... Some day I hope to be physically able to go back out with my low priced Radio Shack detector my wife bought me many years ago... Some people will laugh but I've found some good stuff with it. It sure is fun to play with ... Who knows if I'm ever able to go back out I might buy something nicer... Like she said years ago if I fined anything worth a nice pay off then I can use that money to buy a better detector... But at this time in my life. I can't walk good enough to be out detecting any way. I could use my wheelchair or scooter but I'd still have to find a way to dig it up... LOL.. I could get down but getting back up would be interesting that's for sure... LOL... Thanks for the great video... Be blessed... BBE..
Great find's guy's, I have the 400 and Thank You for doing this, I would alway's just focus the higher # without discrim. on and what you have shown is very informative so again Thank You for this Video..
Awesome! Great hints for me. I was having a hard time with those junk sounds. I believe I'll have a better understating of the sounds for my next Adventure... Thank You!
Love your videos !! I was hunting. Thieves knocked back window out of my truck n took my gti 2500 n new pro pointer. Keep your machines secured people. Only reason they got mine, i used my old bow case for a detector bag...
I’m glad you made this I just picked up a used ACE 400 and I’ve been a bit frustrated with the signals I’ve been getting. I get targets all over. Seems I need to use more discrimination and also ignore signals that the VDI jumps all over the place. One thing I’ve noticed is it often is telling me the item is 8” or deeper when it’s less than that. What can that be? Thanks Dave in PA
Hi Dave, we are glad you found this helpful. The machines are based off of coin sized targets and occasionally a large target may show up deep when its shallow. Another possibility is that there are multiple targets in that spot. As you're digging for the deep target, you might find something along the way that's not as deep. Especially in these situations, we always recommend double checking your hole by scanning over it to make sure you got it! If you have any other questions, feel free to contact our customer service representatives: Telephone: (972) 494-6151 Toll Free: 1-800-527-4011 (USA/Canada only) Email: sales@garrett.com
Just bought the 200, it’s nice to see how it works before I use it I know you’re using better models, went with what my budget would allow. Will the wireless phones work with mine also?
Great video! I definitely got some tips from it. Do you need to ask for permission to hunt the condemned houses? Lol I thought it was funny how in the beginning you said "don't rub the the dirt off the coin, use a spray bottle" and then everything you dug up you rubbed the dirt off of it
I have a ace 200 and love it! Went out to the park this morning and in 2 hrs found 3 quarters, one dime and four pennies, all modern but fun never the less!
As a Company you guys truly go above and beyond to help the consumer. Keep it up
:)
This has been one of the most helpful videos. Thanks fellas.
U guys got it...it's more than just finding good treasures, it's being out there with friends and family enjoying the outdoors

Long winded drivel wow...
I ordered a 300 the other day! My very first detector. Its on the way! So glad to see your video! Thank you
This was one of the best videos Ive seen yet. Great tips and gave me real world pointer I can really use with my Ace 400. Bravo! Thanks Garrett!
We use the ace 300 and have found thousands of relics and artifacts. It works for what we do. Great videos on your techniques.

Just got my Ace 400 I found a lead slug and a brass from a 30-06 . Not bad for walking around having fun 🙂
Just picked up my first detector a 300 at the post office....can’t wait to try it!

Your going to love that 250. I know I love mine. Hey, use that pinpoint feature. It works great. I did come in seconds, with minimal digging.
I also really enjoyed using my 250. Recently I took the plunge and upgraded to a 400 and was immediately impressed. Easy as pie yo use and customise.

Very informative, answered some of my questions. I'm still not sure why the 400 sells with an 11" DD when so many pros seem to prefer a smaller coil.
Enjoyed watching great finds well done
I still have my ace 250 even though I upgraded a couple of times, it's a good value dependable machine that I use as a loaner for friends to try and as a backup for me. I like finding keys as I make them into fishing lures😉

Great video. I bought my son and myself the garrett at pro and the pinpointer. We like them but don't have time to go out much.
Great find on your first gold ring
The yard at 33:00 I have had a similar experience found over 30 pennies. Then found out That the parents had easter egg hunts in the front including pennies.
Fun video. And what a great way to end it. Thx!
Love watching your movies and wished I could afford to buy my own detector to look for metals here in Sweden
Thank you from Michigan, looking forward to using my ace250, again, Thank YOU,
Mike ( E.B.)
BBE..
You need a little buddy to bring with you for the digging
just ordered a ace 400i i'm excited to get into this hobby
So happy the 300i was out of stock and i went for Vanquish 440.
The end of the video was epic 😂.
Great video! I just found my first gold ring with the AT Max! I love Garrett and this was a great video! Thanks! 🐒👍🏻
Great find's guy's, I have the 400 and Thank You for doing this, I would alway's just focus the higher # without discrim. on
and what you have shown is very informative so again Thank You for this Video..
You guys had a great time making this video thanks for sharing and the end was too funny.
Forrest Stinnett what's crazy is that his pin pointer is almost half the price of the Ace 400!
Awesome! Great hints for me. I was having a hard time with those junk sounds. I believe I'll have a better understating of the sounds for my next Adventure... Thank You!
Lots of finds, cool video.
Love your videos !! I was hunting. Thieves knocked back window out of my truck n took my gti 2500 n new pro pointer. Keep your machines secured people. Only reason they got mine, i used my old bow case for a detector bag...
My ace400 kit arrives today!👍🏻👍🏻
great vid for us beginners!!! thank you!!

I just ordered my ace 300 yesterday waiting on Amazon😃
Great video and enjoyable!! Garrett all the way!
Just bought the 200, it’s nice to see how it works before I use it I know you’re using better models, went with what my budget would allow. Will the wireless phones work with mine also?
Good job Miguel!
That yellow baggie is a great reason for kneepads in areas like that. Sharps are probably there also. Great hunt 👍 thanks
Cheers guys I have my first detector a 200i , I need a good spade as I couldn’t get down to the targets
Awesome, thank you! 👊🏻
So Steve or Miguel i have the Ace 400 can i run a 5x8 coil on it ? And if so Which one would it be ?
Just won the Ace 300 from Vaughan Garrett’s favorite finds so I need to learn my new machine!
Which picture is your
Mine is the 1754 spanish 2 reales
Congrats :)
Thanks
Great video! I definitely got some tips from it. Do you need to ask for permission to hunt the condemned houses? Lol I thought it was funny how in the beginning you said "don't rub the the dirt off the coin, use a spray bottle" and then everything you dug up you rubbed the dirt off of it
