This was a great night! Hot AF out.... But Fun! I Remember korn playing thankfully, But after... He told me that his daughter loved korn and she was hit by a car going around a school bus. And he wanted to "Bring her there with him" and this was 'before the time of Cell Phones', His pager went off and he started crying, So I asked him what was wrong and he had gotten a message from his lawyer that a law bill he put forward to have, school buses have stop signs and make it illegal to pass a school bus while stopped. He was so happy that he could save other children... it hit me like a brick in the face!! And changed my life. *edit- I was only 19y so it hit me hard { It was a crazy 4 days lol}

I was at this show 🤘 up front, stage left. I’ve seen Korn more than a few times, but this crowd was clearly the wildest. I’m 5’ 2” and at times the whole crowd would become one and shift. It was amazing 🤘 Also, thought I may die. 😅 I actually worked security for other concerts at this point in life and knew this festival was not prepared for this event on day one. The people who were working up front did the best they could with clearly a greedy event. When you entered the event, they took your water, the free water was tainted, and the purchased water started at $4 and then the vendors started to price gouge. The people who were supposed to clean the place did not, including the toilets. People got sick from bacteria. The promoters just wanted money. They handed out thousands of candles that even caught fire when they fell on the dried grass near the main stage. It’s almost like they wanted that to happen, since they were taking lighters away in the beginning. Then, the grass started catching fire, then the exhaustion, dehydration, hunger, greed, price gouging vibe went through the crowd and some bonfires turned into Lord of the Flies and people burned it to the ground. This was in Rome, New York. This was the middle of nowhere, on a polluted EPA Superfund site, it turns out. There was nowhere to get clean water in 100 degree weather. People snapped, and the promoters who cut every corner on sanitation, the location, medical, security, blamed it on the crowd. A little context: I was also at a show in 1998 called the Tibetan Freedom concert that was struck by lightning. Huge crowd had to be evacuated from an outdoor soccer field. 11 struck by lightning. Same exact crowd, many of the same bands, East coast, Washington D.C. Those promoters handled it perfectly because their goal wasn’t to just milk people for profit. The promoter tries, to this day, to blame these bands. I’ve been to hundreds of shows over decades, in over 10 states, 3 countries. The chaos that happened at Woodstock 99 happened once because of the of the action of the guys who won’t take credit for anything. The people who actually made it and lied about it still going well - after knowing people couldn’t afford food and water that they had taken away at the door. On day 2, they one and day two they knew they water and sanitation problems and did nothing and lied to the press. BUT, also, one of the promoters downplayed that all 3 Woodstocks were kinda disasters, the first one having deaths, and having to be called a National Emergency like is done for hurricanes and tornadoes. Like some other people, I was stuck there until Monday, after it burned to the ground. I had taken a bus 5 hours there and it didn’t return until Monday 😂 I’m still glad I went. What stories! I saw a lot of other bands no one ever mentions because the weren’t the ones that had the most chaotic crowds. It doesn’t fit the promoters story to blame it on the unruly young people and not their greed. They even try to say it’s the crowd’s fault the fire department didn’t come, when, in fact, the whole area didn’t have a proper fire department for that kind of situation. It was mostly a volunteer fire department up there - farmers. It’s not a city. Those greedy promoters found a spin to blame literally everyone: the musicians, the crowd, the fire department, the people working. I’m sure Jonathan Davis wasn’t happy about how the promoter gaslights children about some of the SA to this day. Korn spoke to this generation of Americans, in particular, because they were latch-key kids. This was more of no one caring. Gen X isn’t even listed on generation lists, now 😂 This was a wild show, though, and I’m glad I was there and survived. I saw the whole thing all the way to the end.
I worked Woodstock '99 as an EMT and with Korn being my favorite band back then, I made it a point to watch their whole set. There were plenty of barriers set up to prevent an onrush to the stage. All the people in yellow shirts are security and all the people in blue shirts are medical personnel. I've seen Korn over 20x and every one of their shows is intense. Great band to see live. You want a slightly different side of Korn check out their MTV Unplugged set they did.

I like that you went towards reacting to something on the fun side of Korn. This band is part of me growing up and this is the song that started it, Blind :)
@@sabina1118 I am very glad you are starting this Korn journey. I dont listen to them that much these days but every time I hear them I do get this warm feeling of nostalgia, well not in the case of Daddy, that brings other emotions even after hearing it many times.
Hi back here to get in to the New Years mood. Jonathan sounds so quiet in the start of the show because the band is so loud!!! I have seen a lot of bands live but nothing compares to how loud Korn plays :) Happy New Year everyone. I had to one of my personal experiences, I was seeing the first time and the sound tech guy was playing bass before the show and they kept putting it louder until the people in the front row were looking shocked and putting fingers in their ears, that is when the tech guy showed a thumb up.

Johnathan is one of a kind. then when you think you have watched or listened to everything try listening to " Pretty" then research what the song is about.. its super deep and dark... when he worked for a morge
The year before this, 1998, saw Korn touring with Rammstein, Limp Bizkit, and Ice Cube. All four on the same bill. It was called the Family Values Tour. I doubt we'll ever see another tour like that again.
In 1999 I was already a big fan from Korn but unfortunately their first act in Portugal (from where I'm local) was only one year after. Though I remember very well of watching this concert live on MTV and, for sure this was maybe the best act ever from Korn. By the way their first appearance in PT was a complete mess not due to the band but due to the conditions in the arena in Lisbon but, their second show here on a music festival was absolutely gorgeous :D
According to the Woodstock documentary, the crowd were totally exhausted and spent when they came on. Pissed everything was so expensive with hardly any restrooms or clean water, people began setting stuff on fire and burning the place down.
That thumbnail haha Reminded me of earlier this year, while cutting grass I got stung by bee's a few times on the back of my neck, I probably looked just like that.
I was lucky enough to be in that crowd and the energy really can't be replicated! That said I think it's important to keep context in mind when watching documentaries about Woodstock 99' , the one's I've see focus heavily on the craziness that sparked off on the final night (due to a lot of reasons, but mismanagement and greed being at the forefront). I in no way mean to diminish some of the egregious atrocities that occurred (including assault) and think it is indeed very important to bring them to light. However I think a lot of the documentaries like to focus only on the violence and the bad conditions and forget to also display the awe and wonder of some of these performances, including the wackiness and creativity on display form the attendees despite the heat and subpar amenities. This event was and remains a touchstone of my past that was life altering and unforgettable. I just wish that others hadn't utilized the chaos to tainted it with harm towards others.
Justin - track from Follow The Leader - they make song for fan who is sick and die after they play this track for him. and also Follow The Leader starts from track number 13. 1-12 track are one minute for Justin.
Hi Sabine. It's good to see you react and enjoy Korn. Honestly I always look forward to your reaction to Rammstein (from my top 3 bands) and Korn. bands that practically started around the same time. obviously with different styles. Clearly the level of composition and staging by Jonathan Davis made him one of the best of his style to this day. Although I don't know what NuMetal sounds like in the 2000s anymore. That Woodstock 99 lineup with David Silveira on drums was the best lineup and the best records until Take a look in the mirror. Very good reaction. I would like to see you react to the band Rage against the machine. Maybe to start with Testify live in finsbury 2010. Great band, it's my top 2 bands. Greetings.
You can't have picked up a better song for a KORN live experience! BLIND is the openaing song of their very first album...just imagine the big slap in the face it was. SSSSSSOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDDDD.
Jonathan was actually sober during this time, but he was still in his first year of sobriety of heavy drinking and meth and the withdrawals and psychological shift you go through during the start of sobriety cab be as much or more intense on your mind and body then being intoxicated on substances. During the start of sobriety from long drug and drinking use cause delirium tremors, depression, suicidal thoughts and extreme paranoia and anxiety. I am speaking with my own experience of such substances and finding sobriety. I believe music, the support from fans and medications was what helped him find himself over time to find happiness with sobriety. And knowing what trauma he's been through and to be able to stay sober and successful and strong is amazing. 🖤🤘
The best bands always make you exercise you imagination. Listetning to korn is like you banged your head real good and your hearing emotions, and tool is like hearing colors
I highly doubt we will ever see an environment such as that for quite some time, that festival turned out to be extreme chaos(looting, rioting, fires)amongst the complete angst of the times...that being said, Korn was among the first performances that night and completely killed it
When I first heard Daddy I really wasn't sure what the song was about until years later after many people have told me it was his father but then again people told me it was their families neighbor or family's friend that did it and his parents wouldn't believe him was truly tragic.
Korn has a wide range of sound great tracks from a lot of albums also cool dudes got to meet some. I just met the singers son too. May I suggest korn- black is the soul and take me just to name a few. Gr8 reaction beautiful.
Well, I am still recommending "Daddy". You got into the story of "Falling away from me", and "Daddy" is obviously one of those songs in life, you will never forget. It transports a sad and intense story, but in such an emotional and personal way, that it stands out against 99.9% of what is ever released and published. As an artist/musician, I have to say, that I would have SERIOUSLY missed something if I had not heard this song. It absolutely changed my views about the possibilities of musical expression, and going thru the song to the end was a rewarding experience, no matter how hard it may seem at first. It is an example of how far you can go in terms of personal authenticity when creating music. As expressive, as it gets. I also wrote comments about this under "Falling away from me" reaction.
I have a love hate relationship with Daddy. As a survivor, the recollection of the pain is unbearable. But, it's like digging out a splinter, if you don't go through the pain of digging it out, it just stays buried and festers into a rotting thing that just eats you up inside. I sincerely hope the worst parts of hell are reserved for the creatures that do this to children. It almost feels a welcomed trade, my soul to be their tormentor in hell for all of eternity.
You should have done the music video so you can really hear Korn at their Best, cause they have so many sounds going on that you can not hear in the live shows
"He does not look sober but looks ready to rock and roll."

I just wish that others hadn't utilized the chaos to tainted it with harm towards others.
those mosh pits are legendary, so much fun
I can only imagine!!!
the moshpits never stopped even inbetween songs they were still going nuts
Damn this is Woodstock 1999! I saw this live on TV when i was like 15. lol
I was at that show. I was chaos and insane and ungodly hot. The energy was unreal.
They were so awesome at the Family Values Tour
blessings!
Every one went to Woodstock 99 to see korn !
I honestly get emotional knowing that concerts like this and with this kind of good music will be played wont happen anymore
still my favorite band to this day
korn을 처음 보시는군요 ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 표정 너무 귀여우셔요 ^^
this is before he got his signature mic stand. lmfao. His mic stand is fucking incredible.
I like korn.. and sabina so beautiful 😊
Great reaction, the madness is real......
The best bands always make you exercise you imagination. Listetning to korn is like you banged your head real good and your hearing emotions, and tool is like hearing colors
Love so much this pretty lady...
Very good song of choice.
Korn has a wide range of sound great tracks from a lot of albums also cool dudes got to meet some. I just met the singers son too. May I suggest korn- black is the soul and take me just to name a few. Gr8 reaction beautiful.
Thanks a lot!!
Netflix has a great documentary on Woodstock 99
We love and appreciate you too
❤️🥰
You have to experience KORN live!!!
you're amazing. thanks for your opinion
Jonathan was about a year sober at this point, but he has said there is no high like having that many people in the palm of your hand
You should watch korn- are you ready to live-live the encounter
Great performance- be sure to check the video out for SevenDust “Denial”, one you’ll enjoy. All the best
The singer John was actually sober on this one he had just became sober not long before Woodstock
"Kill You" is another very dark and emotional song by them (also my favorite). And it could work as a warm-up before getting into Daddy
Thanks for sharing!! I Will consider that!
Great idea! Also one of my favorites by KoRn, very dark and emotional.
Im more into later stuff like Here To Stay, Thoughtless, Somebody Someone
This one guys, this one gets it
If you thought this was intense then you should check out My Gift To You at Woodstock 99. In my opinion, KoRn's most intense performance.
Check out "Are You Ready to LIve" by Korn in "THe Encounter"
If you're not ready for Daddy another great emotional track is Kill You off their second album.
You should have done the music video so you can really hear Korn at their Best, cause they have so many sounds going on that you can not hear in the live shows
I think those were the years when John Davis got sober he is absolutely amazing and beautiful I love it
🖤
MORE KORN PLS! :D I recommend the Issues album
It’s on by Korn is an underrated Song on my opinion.
Nose broken sometime in the first minute. It is a little crooked but worth it when my son says I'm was never cool.
"Oh yeah check this out"
your haircolor looks good ! :)
Oh thank you! 😊😁
woodstoock 99 no one can control that crowd, 3days concert nonstop.
