    What an amazing feat of engineering and musical understanding. This concept opens the doors for some really creative players to chart new territory. I suspect I'll own a couple very shortly though it's sort of like a blind man buying a 55 inch flat screen TV.... will I ever do it justice. Nice video too.

      Thanks Tim! Yes, it does open up the traditional un-valved diatonic harp to a lot of fresh possibilities. About time, I'd say!

    Awsom bro.. I used to busk on Cuba street with my harp.. overblows weren't even invented yet lol ,, manners mall.. and Courtney place in Wellington... back in the late
    80s early ninetys.. you were all the talk amongst us harp players of that day.. do you remember the water feature in cuba mall.. I think it's still there.. we used to set up our little blues band in front of it.. wow the memories. I played with chicago smoke shop once.. well with the harp player of that band anyway. Any ways God bless buddy keep up the good work.. kiwis can fly .

    Funny its on April Fools' day, but anyway magnets are awesome and modular harp is great to drop those annoying screws every time you wish to maintain and clean your harps. Happy Easter!

      Slim Heilpern: Thanks Slim! I haven't investigated it yet for chromatics, but maybe there is some possibility there. Maybe a step too far... :)

    Brendan Powers is a harmonica genius. Anyone know Pierre Beauregard? He was coming up with a bunch of cool tunings in the 70’s & 80’s. The harmonica has really taken off in some fascinating directions.

    All I can say is, brilliant! I love the use of the modern materials in this. What a great idea. I'll keep checking in to see when you have a Seydel version...Session or 1847, either one. I presume the design of the 1847 would be easier to do the mod. I definitely want get one these to experiment with.

    I would love to get a kit for the Seydel 1847 should you come up with one !

    • @BrendanPowerMusic
      @BrendanPowerMusic  6 років тому +1

      airmojo: I did some preliminary work on a Seydel version. It's tricky, because the real estate at each end of the harp is smaller, and the travel is longer due to the hole spacing. Would require comb extensions or a different approach.

    • @airmojo
      @airmojo 6 років тому

      Thanks Brendan... if it's eventually doable, please let us know... I just prefer to stick with the same model, although I do have dozens of others, but mainly play the Seydels.

    I cannot bend, cannot do the tongue/throat thing. Would the slip-slider enable me to get the bend effect in spite of this?

    • @BrendanPowerMusic
      @BrendanPowerMusic  6 років тому

      No, you need to be able to bend. Keep working at it!

      I play in 2 bands, each with a harmonica player. Was gonna buy for one each - but now I see how much it will cost me, they can biy there own !!!

      snakehips81: the parts kitsets are good value if they want to assemble to their own harps.
