- Cuban-American singer-songwriter Lauren Jauregui joined us on Real Talk Online to speak about a silence in Hollywood, western double standards, her latest single and what she says is an “obvious genocide”.
Lauren was catapulted to international fame as a member of Fifth Harmony, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time.
And since going solo her music has racked up tens - if not hundreds - of millions of hits.
She’s also just put out a new music video, 'The day the world blows up', which includes prominent Palestine and Gaza imagery.

Lauren might be one of the very few celebs who are ACTUALLY speaking out voraciously about this unjust level of cruelty we are witnessing, it’s a shame that more celebs who definitely have influence aren’t being vocal about this

16:35 This, exactly this is an excellent question, and the answer applies not only to certain industries; it is valid for entire nations! I come from Mexico, a country that (with some exceptions) has historically maintained a foreign policy of neutrality, non-interference, and self-determination of all peoples of the world. When it comes to the ongoing genocide, however, the Mexican government has made some diluted comments about it, voted in the UN for a ceasefire and called for the perpetrators to be prosecuted in the ICC, however, they are not willing to face the potential retaliation for taking a harsher stance against Israel. I would certainly like my country to be a leader in the global fight against this brutality, but at the same time I understand why they are not willing to risk the country's future in the face of a conflict happening thousands of miles away, especially during the current historical moment when we have a lot to gain from the economic war between the US and China. It is scary, but someone's gotta do it, and in that sense, US voters have a lot more power than virtually any other person on this planet!
If every young person like this young woman educate themselves on history, international law, as well as politics they would equip themselves with the tools to dismantle the elites.
