The concert experience was simply unparalleled. It’s hard to convey to people now who have never experienced it. It makes me want the time machine for you guys with me as Rock and Roll tour guide to make sure you do it right! I want to relive the shows, of course, but I would laugh my ass off watching your brains melt live! You would never be the same. This was high powered stuff live. I think most reactors don’t really know how fucking loud some of these shows were across the board. Some bands really pushed it. No one wore ear plugs! Everyone was drunk and stoned on top of it! It was a fucking scene just in the audience! Every maniac high and ready for this spectacle! I have a stupid, ridiculous, long list of bands and concerts that I saw many, many times over the years. Looking back, I can barely believe the amount of concerts and partying I did. Many of the top Rock Bands several times each. I don’t want to do some of my list now, but it’s extensive. Very extensive.
Idk why but my favorite part of this video is where Slash ducks to miss getting hit in the head by something, I think it's a shirt, but his reflexes are great lol. I always look for that part every time I watch this video😂😁✌🤘🔥
You two were born at the wrong time by how many great tunes of the late 60s & 70s & 80s you both like - I remember that summer that this song came out - a buddy had just gotten his boat and we were always out on the Delaware River blast tunes - thank for this flash back - You both Rock
They hit the scene in 1987 with their debut album, "Appetite for Destruction" and I got to see them open for Motley Crue on their "Girls, Girls, Girls" tour - love it, love it, love it!!!
You two are amazing because you REALLY get into the total vibe of an artist or song.. You guys give me hope because it's a whole NEW generation appreciating the music my generation grew up with. Thank you to the both of you for sharing your reactions and honesty with us...
Seen them twice in 9 days few years ago. The Little Rock show was outside and when they closed with this song and had the fireworks going off it was amazing
I strongly recommend checking out one of Slash's other bands - Velvet Revolver. Great band! Slither is a slammer and Fall to Pieces is a mellower but great tune!🔥🎸🤟🏾
The 5+ years when this band was on top was something so very special in the world of rock. Every song they released was better than the last. Sometimes people aren't aware of what they have until it's gone....but with G'N'R, we knew they were special...and we devoured anything and everything they released. We knew it was special then, and now.
I highly recommend "Civil War" and "Estranged" as their two most epic songs, lyrically and musically. Appetite for Destruction was their fun album, but the Use Your Illusion albums have their best stuff.
I saw a video once where the interviewer asked Slash if his hair ever caught fire. He answered why does everybody ask me that? And the he admitted that it did happen a couple of times.
It has been mentioned that Axl is talking about Lafayette Indiana.. Take me down To the paradise city Where the grass is green And the girls are pretty Oh, won't you please take me home Welcome to the Jungle is about his experiences in Los Angeles
On point. He got off the bus in LA, some dude saw this scrawny little white kid from Indiana, and told him, "Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle, and you'll be dead tonight."
100% agree. Rocket Queen is outstanding. If you've not seen it already, I suggest watching the Steve Adler drumcam to Rocket Queen (Soultone Cymbals channel). It's superb, honestly I must have watched it hundreds of times!
Huey Lewis And The News - I Want A New Drug (FUNNY VIDEO) Huey dropped out of Cornell University to spend a year living in Europe playing the harp. He learned how to play the harmonica while hitchhiking across Europe.
I can still remember the first time I heard the album Appetite for Destruction in the late 1980s!! My musical tastes in those days went along the lines of heavy metal and some hair metal bands stuff like Van Halen Iron Maiden Motley Crue to name a few!! Friend of mine suggested that I listen to Appetite for Destruction and I was instantly in love with the album and the sound!! Guns'n'roses really hit the scene like a ton of bricks seemingly coming from out of nowhere to become one of the greatest rock bands from that era!! Their downfall was Axl's ego and drug addiction!!!
everyone credits Nirvana for closing the door on the hair/glam bands but i think GnR already had that door shut. You should do Rocket Queen if you haven't
August 20th 1988 The black and white footage was filmed at Monsters of Rock. - Donnington U.K. I often wonder if that footage was black and white because of the two young guys who died in the crush. Guns n roses were only the second band to play that afternoon. ( Nowhere near the headline slot.). I was carried off my feet in the surge and wasn't even at the front. The 2 deaths were announced over the PA system as we left after the headliners (Iron Maiden) finished their set. A horrible final memory after a wonderful day of music..
4:20 You nailed it. This album came out when I was in fifth or sixth grade and it blew my 12 year old mind. I had to be a rock star from that moment on. I'm still working on it.
This song was featured on the Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" sequel "The Dead Pool." It featured Jim Carrey lip synching. EDIT: Sorry, it was "Welcome to the Jungle."

Guns N Roses. You have Axl Rose 🌹 but have you ever wondered where the Guns part of the name came from? Before they were a signed band and before Slash Tracii Guns was the lead guitar player. He went on to form L.A. Guns. Check them out. They have several hits according to what you want to hear Ballad Of Jayne is a big power ballad. Kill That Girl is very heavy. And they have all in between. Also don't sleep on the rhythm guitar player Izzy Stradlin. He was the soul of GnR. When he left he put out some albums. Check out his song Shuffle It All
First time I saw Guns n Roses live , they were opening up for Alice Cooper. Who if you are into checking out new to you rock check out his song "Poison" by Alice Cooper
I saw Guns N Roses in concert with Metallica in `92. It was a double header, basically two concerts, back to back. It made for a long, and AWESOME night! It was the most incredible concert I have ever been to! I don't think I could hear for the next few days, but it was worth it.
Its good to reignited this song for how good it is today. Then imagine how it was when this album came out. I was around then and believe me, it changed the musical landscape.
I was a teenager when Appetite For Destruction came out. I literally wore out three cassettes listening to this album. It was an absolute must at parties. If y'all haven't already, you should check out another song by them we wore out at parties, Patience. We had 30 to 40 teenagers in a house, drinking, and when Patience played, we all stopped and started singing along...loudly.
The children of the 1970s that grew up listening to Janis Joplin and Simon & Garfunkel, are the adults of the 1980s that created Guns and Roses. Great music breeds great music.
I grew up in this era and it was all about the bands, music, going to concerts. You could go see a big band for 20-30 dollars. I saw GnR on this tour at a place that only held 2000 people. It was INSANE! People was freaking out, like you see in those out videos of Elvis or The Beatles. One of the best shows of my life.
Saw them in concert three times in their heyday. This was a total banger live. (Well, one time Axl Rose wasn't exactly on his game and the others were kinda covering for him, I think? Lot of side-eye in the crowds that day. Still, always worth seeing!!)
THIS is the kind of music I grew up with. I wanted to be a rocker... Lol I have seen all these videos a million times. My generation grew up on MTV, when they ACTUALLY played music videos. I absolutely love watching them through YOUR eyes. It was the same when I raised my kids, who know all kinds of music (I love it all, but rock is my first love) from the 30's to now. Now THEY get a kick out of showing me today's stuff. Make sure you share all the music you love (and stuff you don't too) with your kids. It creates a bond like you can't imagine.
GNR was probably the greatest hard rock band of the 80s -- at least IMO. If you haven't already, you have to listen to "Welcome to the Jungle," "Rocket Queen," and "Don't Cry."
Saw G&R as the warm up band for The Rolling Stones at the L A Coliseum in the mid 90's. Great show...incredible memory. Not really a metal fan either but G&R are amazing. I wouldn't really call them metal.

Ik you didn’t just call slash a dick
@@Ghost-ux5pg Sorry Meant Axle became a dick LOL
When Axl kicked the sh1t out of a scrawny spectacled wimp on stage I boycotted their music. Still won't buy it to this day. Have purchased Slash playing with other artists though.
@@Nuprem1z I don't know much about the bands history but i'm just having a hard time picturing Axle kicking the shit out of anyone
Yes!
Not to mention tickets were under ten bucks.
Idk why but my favorite part of this video is where Slash ducks to miss getting hit in the head by something, I think it's a shirt, but his reflexes are great lol. I always look for that part every time I watch this video😂😁✌🤘🔥
I was just going to comment that, lol.
You two were born at the wrong time by how many great tunes of the late 60s & 70s & 80s you both like - I remember that summer that this song came out - a buddy had just gotten his boat and we were always out on the Delaware River blast tunes - thank for this flash back - You both Rock
Even though appetite for destruction was released in 1987, they really blew up around 88/89. This video came out in early 1989 and it was everywhere.
@MrBwan I saw them with Faith No More AND Metallica! One of my best concerts ever!
I've been fortunate enough to have seen them 5x so far, starting with the original lineup up to the Not In This Lifetime Tour. All were phenomenal.
Only seen Metallica once was out of town the second time they came around
I strongly recommend checking out one of Slash's other bands - Velvet Revolver. Great band! Slither is a slammer and Fall to Pieces is a mellower but great tune!🔥🎸🤟🏾
And if you haven't done it yet, Don't Cry featuring Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon before he died. Amazing duet with Axl's voice.
The 5+ years when this band was on top was something so very special in the world of rock. Every song they released was better than the last.
Sometimes people aren't aware of what they have until it's gone....but with G'N'R, we knew they were special...and we devoured anything and everything they released.
We knew it was special then, and now.
I was 14 when Appetite came out. I was so lucky to get to experience those years. It was f*cking magic 🎩
@@patricksmith3376 Yeah I was 16 the first time I heard that Slash solo to start out "Sweet Child of Mine"...and my world was never the same.
I highly recommend "Civil War" and "Estranged" as their two most epic songs, lyrically and musically. Appetite for Destruction was their fun album, but the Use Your Illusion albums have their best stuff.
I’m surprised Slash never lit his hair on fire! 🔥
I saw a video once where the interviewer asked Slash if his hair ever caught fire. He answered why does everybody ask me that? And the he admitted that it did happen a couple of times.
Lol, I don't want to laugh but I have to...
It has been mentioned that Axl is talking about Lafayette Indiana..
Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Oh, won't you please take me home
Welcome to the Jungle is about his experiences in Los Angeles
On point. He got off the bus in LA, some dude saw this scrawny little white kid from Indiana, and told him, "Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle, and you'll be dead tonight."
Take me down to the paradise city
Where the weed is green
And the girls got big titties
The label made them change it
This by farrrrrr my fave Guns ' n Roses song!I knew J would have his mind blown by this!
I was 15 years old and in the crowd at Donnington, right at the front when they shot this video.
Appetite for Destruction was an incredible album. "Rocket Queen" is the best on the album, IMO.
100% agree. Rocket Queen is outstanding. If you've not seen it already, I suggest watching the Steve Adler drumcam to Rocket Queen (Soultone Cymbals channel). It's superb, honestly I must have watched it hundreds of times!
Totally agree! My Michelle is a very close 2nd :)
Respectfully disagree Sir, Mr. Brownstone.
Huey Lewis And The News - I Want A New Drug (FUNNY VIDEO)
Huey dropped out of Cornell University to spend a year living in Europe playing the harp. He learned how to play the harmonica while hitchhiking across Europe.
I wish I could have caught Huey Lewis and the News in concert. Huge fan. Any song from four or sports can’t go wrong.
The live footage is from Yankees Stadium, New York & from The Monsters of Rock festival at Donnington, England 1988
Those last 2 minutes are the epitome of rock. Period.
100%! The jammingest jam that ever jammed.
That side to side dance Axl does was so distinctive that everyone knows ur copying Axl when u do it.
It was the Monkees' Davy Jones' signature dance move. Axl just made it even better.
@@debbiedebbie761 I was very young when I watched the Monkees. Now that you say I remember it. 😊
He copied Davy Jones from The Monkees on Daydream Believer. Recorded in 1968 or 1969!! Check it out on UA-cam.
My favorite song by GNR’s of all time. When this comes on you wanna tear shit up!! LOL
everyone credits Nirvana for closing the door on the hair/glam bands but i think GnR already had that door shut. You should do Rocket Queen if you haven't
Nirvana didn't do shit...all they did was making music suck balls..!
I consider GnR a hair band. They are the same category as Poison, Bon Jovi, Warrant, etc...
@@BillGraper lol you need a better ear for music then
August 20th 1988
The black and white footage was filmed at Monsters of Rock.
Saw them at Wembley in 91, bloody amazing and a really hot sunny day!
4:20 You nailed it. This album came out when I was in fifth or sixth grade and it blew my 12 year old mind. I had to be a rock star from that moment on. I'm still working on it.
There you go guys! 80s Rock all the way!
Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero", which you've already reacted to, depicts that dream of becoming a rock star.
Still to this day every time this song comes on the radio I'm blasting it as loud as I can stand it!!!🤟🤟
I was with my little sister in the crowd at Donnington when this was filmed - they were immense!
They played Hershey PA last night. I couldn’t go but heard it was a great show.
I was there!!! Great show!!!!
React to Slash ft Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators - Anastasia (Live in Sydney) 🤘🏼🎩
This song was featured on the Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" sequel "The Dead Pool." It featured Jim Carrey lip synching.
EDIT: Sorry, it was "Welcome to the Jungle."
I remember that.
One thing hardly anyone comments on is how long Axl was able to hold a note for. This was a singer with an incredible range and breath control....
I am soooo jealous y’all get to experience them for the first time lol…They have been my favorite band since I was a kid in the 80s and I wish I could remember hearing this for the first time! Listen to Welcome to the Jungle! Will also blow your mind!
Check out his song Shuffle It All
Combination of Tokyo Rose and LA Guns
First time I saw Guns n Roses live , they were opening up for Alice Cooper. Who if you are into checking out new to you rock check out his song "Poison" by Alice Cooper
Jay and Amber are both teacher's, so I'm thinking School's Out would be appropriate to start with. LOL
If you like guitar playing and messing with a cigarette watch Eddie Van Halen doing Eruption live (without a net).
YES! Also G&R "Welcome to the Jungle"
Axl was hugely influenced by Thin Lizzy and Led Zep....not so much Joplin nor S&G. He was all about hard rock.
Since you like harmonica, aka the blues harp, listen to "Hook" by "Blues Traveler". Please, thank you and you're welcome!
Underrated!
Any time you hear a whistle arrive in the middle of a song you know its about to get real...
Love the channel....
This album was a cultural phenomenon when it dropped. I was in Germany serving in the Army and we wore this album OUT!
This song makes me feel like summer baby
Saw them in concert three times in their heyday. This was a total banger live. (Well, one time Axl Rose wasn't exactly on his game and the others were kinda covering for him, I think? Lot of side-eye in the crowds that day. Still, always worth seeing!!)
You said everyone in this era (1980's) must have wanted to be a ROCK STAR. You are CORRECT.
THIS is the kind of music I grew up with. I wanted to be a rocker... Lol
I have seen all these videos a million times.
The fact that I was of age during GunsNRoses prime years and never went to even one of their concerts hurts my heart!
GNR was probably the greatest hard rock band of the 80s -- at least IMO. If you haven't already, you have to listen to "Welcome to the Jungle," "Rocket Queen," and "Don't Cry."
Motley Crue called, they disagree….
Saw G&R as the warm up band for The Rolling Stones at the L A Coliseum in the mid 90's.
Great show...incredible memory.
Not really a metal fan either but G&R are amazing.
I wouldn't really call them metal.
Yeah, they're hard rock, not metal.
@@danhalstead705 yep hard rock 🎸
Saw them September 7th, 1988 in Nashville at Starwood Amphitheater when they opened for Aerosmith. One of the best concerts I've ever seen
Growing up in Jr high school with this song it makes me feel very nostalgic every time I hear it.
"Appetite For Destruction" is a must-have addition to any music fan's catalog...legendary. Not a bad cut on it. GnR is some top-shelf ass-kickery (the "drop" in this song is arguably, the best I've ever heard in Rock...easy 'Tards, I said "arguably." So, lower the hackles lol).
Panthers domination breakdown is great too
@@mike04574 I assume that your "spell-check" screwed the pooch on ya and you meant to type "Pantera." But, you're abso-fkn-lutely correct. That "drop" you're speaking of is NASTY. Love that stuff...
I was at the riot in St.Louis. I'll never forget it. Everything and everybody got tore up. AXEL was pissed cause someone ( right in front of me) was taking pictures of him. So AXEL jumped from the stage on top of the guy in front of me and they both ended up on top of me. I still have the news paper clip. I don't look too happy in that picture!!!
Slash is the best! He went out on his own and makes albums with many different singers singing for him. He really is the man.
They are great! Take it from this 58 year old disabled Veteran Play the band "QueensRiche" Take hold of the flame!!! I want to see your faces when you hear his voice!!! SHOOK indeed! God Bless.
Yep, I remember buying the CD when it was first released. I was only 19 or 20 at the time. Great stuff!
Slash is actually English, he was born in Stoke-on-Trent England. A few years ago he did a concert in Stoke-on-Trent and it was called his "coming home concert"
You should check out Velvet Revolver with Slash, Duff and Matt when they split from Guns N Roses, they started a new band called Velvet Revolver. Check out their album Contraband, it's fire!!
I saw GnR in 1993 in England as part of their Use Your Illusion Tour, it was one of the best concerts ever, simply amazing!
They were so good! Too bad they couldn’t get their crap together.
Ann Smith. Sex, drugs and Rock n' Roll....that is a tall order for young men to keep their crap together about. I suspect they would not change a thing.....
La mejor banda , que recuerdos 🎼🎼🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
One song that would shock you is “only women bleed” by Alice Cooper. Great vocals
and totally unexpected, by me anyway!! You would enjoy. Peace
Anything by Alice

Love these guys. Recently new on Mr Video's recommendation. 💜💜💜
This entire album from start to finish was an all-out assault. One of the biggest and best albums of all time. GNR just exploded on the scene. Epic and amazing in every way. Hard to explain their impact unless you lived through it. Incredible band!
I made the same face 25+ years ago first time I heard this album.
Their breakthrough song....loved this Band being a teenager in the late '80s!!
"Sweet Child O' Mine" was their breakthrough hit. This was actually their 3rd hit. Still great, no matter which order they were released. 🙂
@@BillGraper really? in my memory Paradise City was their first hit....but you are right... it really doesn't matter!
Have you listen to the song that started the Guns and Roses legacy? Welcome to the jungle 🎶
Ps and let’s not forget Patience
Concerts were so much fun in the 70s and 80s. Ya could put 50,000++ rockers into a stadium, something I'm not sure you can do nowadays. We were there for music, and everything else could wait until the concert was over.
Saw these guys live at Eastern Creek, Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 back in 1993, with around 100, 000 other fans…
