There’s nothing wrong with washing your hair once a month. The longest I can go without washing is 2 weeks since my hair starts to get dry and itchy. But if it’s in braids I can go one month without washing it 🤷🏾♀️ Just do what’s best for you 👍🏾

Our hair really don't take alot of washing treatment... just don't use certain ingredients in your shampoo and conditioner and you'll be fine.. especially 4c hair.. moisturizer that's perfect for your hair especially if it's hard to retain water... some of or most people on social media talking about use this and that is strictly for clout...it's not expensive to be natural.. people with food stamps can buy most of it off that.. invest in what helps you

If I have my hair in cornrows ( for wigs ) I leave it for 3-4 months and I retain a lot of length this is how I grow my hair without touching it so do what’s best for you !!
What you said is straight facts I braided my son hair in small individual braids at the end of October and took them out around the first week of January and I seen a lot of growth and his hair is healthy i did not wash all the time sometimes I would sprits his hair with water and moisturizer his hair and that’s it occasionally he would wet his hair when he takes a bath/ shower his hair was starting to look like locs

As someone who's white - I have 0 reason to comment anything that I don't know about - I have no idea about black hair and I for sure wouldn't even start to complain about "lack" of hair products. It took me 5 yrs of my journey to find a cleanser that wouldnt make my hair matt, Shea Moisture then discontinued 😤 and another 6 years to finally find TWO moisturizing cleanser that Actually moisturize! I just also have to detangle during that process. I'm FINALLY seeing some growth past bra strap!🙏 Its been a journey
I wash my hair 1-2 times in winter and 2-3 times in the summer it works best for me because If I go longer without washing my hair it gets greasy,has bad odor,and has a bit of crust (as if I had dandruff).just do what works best for you everyone is different

But now I’m giving up brushing and combing my hair bc a lot falls out and I’m just goi g to use my hands and oil. Can’t wait to see the 6th month growth mark!!
When I have braids , i don't have to wash my hair for 3 to 4 weeks. To extend the look and my scalp clean..i do not put alot of products on it. I use a scalp oil to moisturze. I will use a scalp cleaner with peppermint, tea trea oil, apple cider vinegar etc on my scalp during my braid styles and avoid alot of cremes, oils and products. I spray the hair with that scalp rinse and pat dry with my towel. I can go all summer. It ain't that deep. Less manipulation..less hair loss and easy hair upleep routine. My hair don't need all that. What's with steaming hair? When you wash your hair in the shower, aren't you steaming it in that hot shower then.
Back on the jerry curl days we were told not to wash our hair til our new growth appeared which was at-least 2months and we go and get it freshly wash and done and it definitely grew so maybe you are on to something!

I shampoo my scalp in jumbo braids, smooth it through the braids, and rinse. Then I take down the braids to condition and detangle with a brush. Afterwards, I rebraid and let my hair air dry overnight. Very simple, takes me 20 minutes max to do a week.
I wash mine about every two weeks or 3. People just don’t understand black hair is different from there’s but we all have different textures of hair. Gotta do what’s best of yours.

Treating the hair after washing. I need oils because my hair gets matted in a matter of days so I have to base my scalp and the rest of the hair with light oils to lessen the extreme tangling. I cannot braid my own hair or comb daily because it's also always extremely dry no matter which method I order my products. Products just sit and only absorb through heat like wearing a plastic shower cap.
