Makes 4 large servings or 6 medium
Ingredients:
2 cups (480ml) Milk
1 cup (240ml) Heavy cream
6 Egg yolks
1/2 cup (100g) Sugar
Pinch Salt
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1/4 cup (60ml) Cognac/Whisky/bourbon/rum (optional)
1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon Cloves
Directions:
1. In a large bowl whisk egg yolks and sugar until light, thick and fluffy. Set aside.
2. In a saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, salt, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Bring to a simmer.
3. Temper the eggs by slowly adding the hot milk mixture into the eggs, whisking constantly while pouring the hot milk mixture.
4. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently with a wooden, until the mixture begins to thicken slightly, and coats the back of the spoon or until it reaches about 160F (70C). It will thicken more as it cools.
5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and liquor. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer.
6. Pour the eggnog into pitcher, bottle or other container and chill in the fridge until ready to serve (at least 2 hours).
7. When ready to serve, pour into a glass with ice cubes, sprinkle some grated nutmeg and cinnamon.

You can find there anything you need for baking&cooking goodies.
See you there :)
Oh wow, that's awesome! Congrats :))
Will it still taste good without the alcohol? I want to make some but I don’t drink
I just made it, but it came out really thick. I doubled the amount of milk after putting into the storage containers.
What do I do with all that egg white?
@@englishwithteachermark4307 make meringue. Add sugar whip till fluffy, spoonfull on baking sheet, bake till golden.
@@ardithmartijn6260 Thanks
I really don't understand why stores don't sell this year round. Who gives af about the holiday season, WE WANT EGG NOG
Because it'll trigger a health crisis lol.
@@matasa7463no more than beer does. And that's year round
Totally agree
@@matasa7463 just read this after drinking an entire container of it.........fuck
@@JasonNelson-lj4oz bro, I have to dilute it with milk to be able to stomach it, due to how thick and strong it is. How you just down a whole container…
Seasons greetings from Scotland ! I've never had eggnog before but made it today with your recipe and it's incredible. I used spiced rum. It's like a Christmas custard. Thank you ❤️
❤
Did you just use spiced rum on its own or all the other alcoholic drinks listed I don’t drink so wouldn’t have all them drinks in my house but would but a bottle of rum too make these?
@@knightr7 No, I only used Spiced Rum. I followed this recipe exactly but I used 60ml of golden spiced rum. The recipe says you can use Bourbon or Rum or Whiskey etc NOT 60ml of each. If you wanted to use 2 different spirits say Bourbon and Rum then use 30ml of each.
Enjoy
Greetings my friend! It's even better in the fall/winter.
@@ddenzel94 yes it's getting to that time of year now. It's not quite cold enough yet where I am but it's not far away.
My mom said it’s usually more challenging to make but think it’s cause people are given the correct instructions to follow. Seems pretty simple simple here to me😀
It might be because adding egg to hot mixture is tricky and easy to mess up :)
@@jodiloux5397someone said you don’t have to make it hot.
@@antoniomitchell1883 wait how do you do so because I really would prefer having right now and don't have the time to wait
@@sahilrahman5066 I’m not sure, I’ve never tried it. Is it in stores yet?
@@antoniomitchell1883 in stores where I live they don't have any
You are the best! Your videos always brings my cooking into perfection!!! Keep rockin' !!! 💜💜💜
Im South African and this is not something we are familiar with but I’ve heard about eggnog so many times on tv so i ended up on your video and im definitely gonna try this! It looks amazing!
Thanks for a little bit of foreign in my home country!
Did you try it?
Is advocaat a thing over there? It's similar
You me both hey 😂
Did you try the eggnog?
I came here from tv too. But its done in india using brandy, i never tasted though
Just made this for hubs. I am NOT an eggnog fan. Well, I wasn’t. I guess that I am now! We had it hot, and it was awesome. I didn’t have ground cloves, but did have whole one. Tossed in a bunch. Added extra Jack Daniels. Yep. It is good people, saving this recipe.
wow! This looks amazing 😋
Pretty amazing recipe... loved it 👍❤️❤️
Just made this morning and can hardly wait for it to be cold. Well, to be honest, I already had a glass lukewarm. Fantastic! Creamy, smooth, lightly spiced perfection. Yummy! #eggnog
How was it?
What alcohol did you use?
@andicantu just light rum to taste
@@lesliestallard5187 thanks!

Finally, a simple eggnog recipe. I’m gonna try this. Thks !
Neat and tidy.
if you have a recipe for all this how can I make this myself?
This recipe is fantastic. Thank you for this!
This looks amazing! Going to save this video for christmas holidays!
Fresh grated nutmeg in the nog as well as for a garnish is an absolute game changer. Compared to bought spice shaker stuff, it's like a completely different ingredient.
Oh is it now?
Absolutely. Buy just a couple and try it out. Afterward, bulk buying for a business or share it with others is worth it. Whole nutmeg lasts 3-4 years vs. ground 1-2 and doesn't have to be just a seasonal thing.
@@bbloomfield6497I second this! Tried grinding whole nutmeg for the first time last year and mich better than powder
Wanted to try this for the longest time, thinking about it then forgetting again but at last I will taste it !
This looks very doable. I'm excited to try it!
It was absolutely delicious!
I just love eggnog. And was watching it with my adult students of English in class. They really liked it
I probably make it without the liquor looks yummy 😋
Just made this today. Was perfect. Thank You
How does it taste?
Wonderful! Haven't had this for a very long time
I must try THIS!!! Thanks 4The UPLOAD
What a nice surprise. Eggnog, it even sounds yummy.
I actually thought this was by how to basics for a second there! XD but great recipe!
Same. But I realized how to basic had already done this one 😂
This is so super yummy! Thank you!
looks so amazing!
Im from south africa and we don't usually have this as a tradition and ive always wanted to try it. Thank you for making the recipe so easy im excited to taste it 😊
Success! Thank you!! I'm excited for my husband to taste this.
I always blended eggs, added milk , touch of cinnamon, touch of nut meg , a splash of pure vanilla extract and granulated raw sugar. No heating at all. Been making it that way every year since the 70s.
No heavy cream?
warm eggnog is the best imo
I like it made raw too but with half and half and heavy cream. This recipe looks good I may try it.
Given the salmonella risk, I prefer that the eggs get cooked almost into a super thin custard with the half milk half cream mixture.
@@jamie032300 been making it for 50years . Never got sick.
I can’t ding eggnog at any stores and it’s my favorite thing about Christmas time so I’m gonna have to give this a shot! Looks good!

وصفة لذيذة. تسلم إيدك
👍💖🌷👌
I've made my first eggnog today using this video! Planned to do it last year, but unfortunately an unforeseen event changed my Christmas plans altogether. I'm really enjoying it! It's rather thick, drinks like a milkshake. I might try adding more milk next time but only for experimental purposes as I actually like how it drinks like a milkshake. Still, it's in my nature to experiment, and I've got a couple more days until I have guests over that I want to serve the perfect drink. Thanks for the video and Merry Christmas!
Glad you liked it ❤
Merry Christmas 🎅
@@TheCookingFoodieThanks! Made my second batch today. Increased the rum to 150ml and upped the percentage from 37,5% to 40%. It's Christmas Eve after all :)
Wow so easy to follow + sub gonna try this first time thank you merry Christmas 🎅
This is very close to how I do it! Thanks!
Super simple and delicious ❤
Thanks for sharing. Looks great.
❤
Yummy. So easy to make.
Finally I can have my fav summer drink
Loved it 😍
love eggnog, look forward to making this recipe today...Tracey from Austin Texas
Today is December 24th, Christmas Eve and Safeway is completely out of eggnog.
Last year both Safeway and Walmart stopped selling eggnog after Thanksgiving.
That's how it is here in Aberdeen Washington.
Every place that I've lived in during the past always had grocery stores that sold eggnog through Christmas and New years.
But not Aberdeen.
That's because Aberdeen sucks
The look is very tempting. for giving me a brilliant Recipe. Have a nice day.
i agree😋
Made it this year. Very good.
❤😍
That was amazing 🎉

Anyone know if you can substitute coconut cream for the dairy for those with raging allergies?
Aw, thank you so much for this. I grew up surrounded my American culture and remember my dad taking
us to Walmart every year to buy eggnog~ they would only let us have a small sip! but it was so yummy; now
I live in Korea and ofcourse we don't have it here so I want to try to make it, I will buy all the ingredients tomorrow
and give it shot! it looks easy but may look easier than it is hehe! Happy Holidays 🎄🎄💖💖
Eggnog is NOT American….it’s ENGLISH 👍🙄🇬🇧

Very yummy thumbs up
Can I substitute heavy cream for half and half?
what type of milk should i use? will ot be ok to use evaporated milk?
That looks Amazing ❤How long does it last for ? Thx so very much !
Cheers. This was/is fantastic, and a lot less work in the run-up to Christmas.
Black rum (or Bourbon) tastes better though due to the vanilla flavors, and you can easily triple down on the booze (until you believe Santa is real).
The white of the eggs, could be whipped into meringue for the great topping
I did just that, rolling some of the whipped whites in helped thicken concoction, and rest was made into meringue
looks so testy😋
Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome 😊
I love the music
I so want to have it
Me: its sunday 1:17 pm of the 1st august
Also me: need eggnog- im obsessed with it
