This is a lovely system! I think I actually saw a Simplex 4903-9101, alongside 2903-9101s. I feel like there were two types of TrueAlerts in this school; Free Run (They sound normal) and SmartSync (They sound weird). And I think that was a 4903-9252 (If the strobe is 15CD, models vary based on the strobe intensity) because of the horizontal mounting style. A lot of these 4901-9805s sound really raspy. My favorite sounding 9838s are in the gym.
Th3 9838a from 3:31 to 3:43 and from 4:43 to the end are just perfect. They both sound JUST like the 9838 in NewAgeServerAlarm's oh so famous "System Test 26.1"
All of these alarms should be replaced with Truealerts to meet requirements. I'm digging this system so much but some horns don't sound well, but it's time for a replacement!
The system works fine. The old 4901-9805's sound rough but there is still life left in them. Truealarts would not be installed as I doubt this system is maintained by Simplex.
Same district, this was the middle school which I never went to. The high school was torn down and rebuilt several years ago by the time I was already at university
@@sirenfreak57 I just graduated from the new high school. I ended up leaving STVM my junior year because of asbestos exposure. I was just in Medina today and their schools also have Simplex systems from the same era (70s or 80s). The elementary school that is right next to the high school (at one exit) has two pull stations just feet away from each other. fun fact, your MS's original name was Eastview--the district used to be called Bath-Richfield until 1967, when they renamed it after the high school. I believe the new high school probably has some kind of voice evacuation system
Those Truealerts towards the end are having a really hard time doing march time lol. Great video!!
They are smartsync truealerts on a coded nac. It’s not how it should be.
I love these 4020s so much. Seeing them are a delight. The random changes in sound... these are also in my college.

The 9805's i believe naturally are raspy for some reason.
I did not expect the 9838 on the strobe plate in the end thats cool where they separate buildings
I assume they previously had a 4002 panel which explains why it’s in March Time.

i didnt expect march time 2903s in a school
March time FTW
yess ikr
Every building that has a simplex system there’s always 1 or 4 Truealerts as their replacement.
It replaces all the older alarms, vintage classic Simplex, 4903s and QuickAlerts.
Same fire alarm my. Oldelementry school used to have it was LOUD
Very nice video ! !
So half the 9838s survived
The 9805 at 1:38 sounds like it’s dying out
Was the middle school 2 floors somehow i saw the stairs at the end of the video
4:02 Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr Beep Brr.
If they were 4 Wire wall mounted versions they'd be able to pass.
The 9805 at 2 28 sounded healthy
