The assumption regarding Larys's actions is that Larys has no interest in giving any aid to Aemond after realizing that he is a lot less influenceable than Aegon. Thats also why hes trying to speed up Aegons recovery.
If you read only one part of this long comment it should be that when I saw "Sir Simon Russell Beale" as part of the cast I thought "Seems like overkill for a small role as the rumpled owner of a wrecked castle, but I guess he was available, whatever." This episode I finally understood that he was hired for the express purpose of delivering the best two word line reading in recent television history..."Oh dear." I would agree this episode was great. Probably the best of the series. I read the Song of Ice and Fire series and watched GoT until they split from the books, but only started watching this series because I was caught up on other prestige television series and just need an hour of *something* to calm down after work and before bed. This episode was the culmination for me of the process of actually loving what the show does. I am so glad they got Paddy Considine back to add some flavor, as his performance is what kept me going Season One. He adds to what I would argue are much, much better performances overall this season. I think the men are greatly improved, the women were already doing great, and D'Arcy is a revelation this season. You folks covering Season Two pushed me over the line to start it, so thank all of you. Thoughts: -Aemond sending Aegon's buddies to the wall seemed pretty straightforward to me. He's clever. With one move he gets Aegon loyalists out of the picture, creates patsys for propaganda the riot was not over food from the enemy but bad policing, and does a "merciful" act. From a storytelling perspective I-who didn't read this series-wonder if keeping them alive allows them to go to The Wall, become strong and reliable men instead of unserious boys, and return to serve an Aegon who eventually gets back on the throne. -Maybe they skip over some parts of the dragon riding because they have realized the dragons look incredible, but the dismounts have been rough and take you out of the moment. I also think they have been wise to limit the amount of "actor riding dragon" which I think is the only other effects failure. No disrespect to the amazing effects folks, it must just be incredibly hard to do because "actor riding (insert flying beast)" has looked terrible in everything I can think of. Marvel couldn't pull it off, either, IMO.
I'm with David Chen, worried about the season finale. I'm concerned with the amount of time spent on Daemon at Harrenhal, is there going to be a payoff? It's sort of seemed apparent they didn't have anything for Matt Smith so fabricated this Daemon Arc. My other concern is they show runner has fallen so in love with certain characters he's not willing to lose them and will fall so far away from book canon. You 3 are have great HOTD content❤ Thanks!!
All 3 new riders are related to the dragons’ previous riders. Also, wish they could’ve ended up splitting half of Matt Smith’s time at Harrenhall and half at Dragonstone.
I called last episode the worst of the series and I stand by that, but Episode 7 won me back. Real stakes, non stop dragon watching, great character work, a fantastic episode.
Rhaneyra is turning into an acrual ruper and straying away from viserys. Daemon accused her being unable and unwilling to shed the blood that is need to win the war in the 2nd episode and now she is turning into exactly what daemon wants her to be.
HOTD is not the same without this podcast. Thanks again! Does anybody know how many dragons Team Black has now with the bastard riders, compared to Team Green?
Team Green: Tissarion with Daeron (Alicent and Viserys’ son we haven’t met yet) Dreamfyre with Haelana Vhagar with Aemond. Sunfyre is possibly dead at Rook’s Rest. Team Black: Syrax with Rhenarya Ceraxes with Daemon Vermax with Jacerys Vermithor with Hugh Seasmoke with Addam Silverwing with Ulf Rhaena has two baby dragons at the Vale and is searching for the wild dragon spotted there.
By the time the potential dragonriders entered Vermithor's lair, I had to wonder what they all thought was actually happening. Like, "What are the odds none of us is meant to claim a dragon, and this is all a huge blood sacrifice?"
I agree the show is great but confusing scenes like the dragons at the end of this one display that they really drop the ball at key moments. Not so great
This alicent never had any relationship woth jahaerys, she wasnt old enough for that, you cant age her down for the Rhaenyra frienf thing and still keep the things from when she was older.
Pretty disappointed the rookie dragon 🐉 riders didn’t unionize so they could file unsafe staffing. You get the feeling Daemon is the coworker who calls out for a month then tells the boss that he has FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) when in truth he was tripping balls off Alys Rivers’ edibles while playing XBox in his man cave, Harrenhal. 😂

Another hypothesis on Seasmoke and Adam is Seasmoke could have been reminded of Laenor, since Adam is his half brother. Maybe a similar scent?

@@GabrielBaker-nj8zl you deserve a tip!! Thank you! 😎🙌🏽
@@thejose24you’re welcome! I also forgot Baela and Moondancer!

Hold up! Your handle says "Dr" but as a nurse this comment seems suspiciously nurse-adjacent. Unsafe staffing, calling out, FMLA, edibles...🙂
@@DonWood1 Do you think Doctors are that oblivious not to know what nurses go through? 😆
Sorry doc!
Thank GOD Jessie is gone. Don’t invite him back!
This show works best when it’s a two person dynamic, one show watcher, one book reader
