I don't think that the curious cat deserved the death that they got, despite the bad things they did. They didn't deserve to be torn apart and denied ascension, when they were essentially abandoned by their creators, gave bits of their heart to help everyone else in the ever after, and how Alyx broke her promise to the cat. It's all just tragic.

1:13 a fitting end to a monster in cat's clothing. After what he did to Alyx, deceived our heroes, manipulated other Afterans to do his dirty work, took advantage of Ruby's depression and put her through hell as part of his scheme, possessed Neo, attempted to kill all our heroes in the finale. And doing it all with no remorse, shame and no guilt. He deserved no better.
After showing his true colours in Ruby's darkest hour in ep 8. I came to and still do hate the Curious Cat.
But yes I don't deny that Alyx breaking her promise, was the cause for Cat's dark change.
