While a push dagger-type knife is very purpose built I think they can serve that purpose really well. We all should have unarmed weapons training as well as armed, & I feel focusing the majority of your training time on striking & grappling like Muay Thai & some grappling like BJJ or wrestling is a better investment than trying to learn a knife or sword style art like Arnis. Don't get me wrong you still need to train how to use a knife with your striking & grappling, but it is a much steeper learning curve, & will require less time. It is also easy to use a push dagger as you are literally throwing punches. I think drawing it in your off hand (have it setup that you can draw with either on your midline) is ideal as you can still draw a handgun (and use the off hand for support or defense) which should be the goal when using this. You were attacked or jumped, & are entagled with the attacker. You draw this from concealment as it can be more dangerous trying to deploy a handgun while in contact. Use the knife to create space so you can more safely deploy a handgun or escape.
Every NYC subway passenger should have at least one of these push daggers to protect themselves from the thugs who might attack them or the other passengers.
Always thinking through the designs for versatility. Push knives and daggers are illegal to carry in my state, so I would not carry one. However, I do think they offer an excellent option for self defense, especially as a backup.
Texas used to have a ban on automatic knives, switchblades, balisongs, and any other blade over 5.5". After decades, they finally lifted almost all restrictions so only trench knives, maces, and brass knuckles were illegal. People still complained and now we can carry literally anything outside of a few prohibited areas.
Nice looking sheath. The grippyness of the the handle is actually a big strike against that blade. You are not the first to have a shirt or cover garment snag on it or a similar knife or gun and either pull the weapon free or get hung up affecting you getting a good draw without fighting clothing. Could literally make the difference between life & death.
In a self-defense application, it’s actually a massive benefit of the blade. I don’t know how much experience you have with push daggers, but a good handle makes or breaks it. Most are absolute garbage-too small to get a grip with enough sufficient leverage and power, too uncomfortable to strike powerfully in use or training, etc. I’ll take spending a little extra time training to draw a good blade rather than have a shit blade that I can easily draw any day of the week.
Hi, nice work. This are the kind of sheaths that CS should put on their push daggers. Their sheaths are good overall, but don't provide a good retention over time. Do you ship to France? I have two Safe Maker 2 and two Urban Edge serrated. Thank you.
Love it and highly interested! Own a cold steel safe keeper 2, and plan on buying two more push daggers bc its been so great. So about how much would a black kydex sheath for a cold steel safe maker 2 with tech lok cost me(so the 2nd sheath exactly as shown)? And if i bought two would the price go down a lil bit?
@@BlackBearCustomKydex if I contact you through email that is on the black bear website (assuming it's your site) can I make reference to this UA-cam comment about details and price? Thanks for the quick response!
Technically, yes, but it's not a great clip for that use. Monoblock clips are very similar, but made from rugged spring steel and would hold up better in that case. Better still, soft loops or a Tek-Lok are the best suited for owb
I would like to know how I can purchase one of these I been asking everybody what seems like no 1 gets back to me on how I can purchase 1 please comment back thank you very much
REMM Gear Tactical. It's really dependable. I think I've had it 4 years or so. I'm probably gonna get a blue alpha next, but I'm tempted to just buy another one of these.
I sell through my website store mostly, not you can occasionally find me selling a knife and/or sheath through eBay. I also have an Etsy store, but I haven't stocked the digital inventory in a while due to Etsy's shady dealings with seller fees...they are taking a suspiciously large cut of the profit.
Excellent 👍
I just checked your site for a minute...you make nice stuff!

Is that the big or small Tek-Lok? Thank You.
It's the large. In my opinion, the small Tek-Lok is not very good so I don't use it.
How much would the Safe Maker II w/Tech Lock clip sheath cost? I really like your work! Great job.
$50 shipped anywhere in the continental US.
