I have the Safe Maker 2 which is basically the next step up in size from this with the same steel and it has proven to be quite tough when testing it. Great knives that are inexpensive and very reliable if you need them. I'm thinking of getting this one too for my girlfriend as it's very easy to conceal.

That would be a good idea.

The Cold Steel 6" SRK or its infamous Espada XL would end any assault in seconds ...

I own both. Neither is as compact or easy to carry as the Urban Edge. Plus, the SRK is an Outdoors/Wilderness knife. It can be pressed into service for self-defense, but really wasn't designed for that.

How fun is the Espada XL though?

Looks awesome, I'm not too crazy about the steel though .

I understand what you're saying. But keep in mind, this is a blatant self-defense tool that is useless for other tasks. As such, edge retention doesn't matter. Steel just has to be tough enough to not deform the tip if you hit thick bone, or a stainless steel belt buckle.

Cold Steel’s Heat Treat is better then any knife company around. I’ve been using CS knives since 1997 and I’m extremely hard on my knives I’m an Arborist. My knives have been dropped out of trees from 80ft up, rain, sleet, snow they have been covered in Mud, saw dust, Dirt you name it my knives have been through it. I’ve never had any of my CS knives Chip, Break or any lock failures. Now I’ve had Spyderco’s and Benchmades fail and Break on me more then a dozen times.

As far as being involved in actual knife Combatives I highly highly doubt you ever used been involved in anything. The way you talk you sound like a wannabe. I’m friends with a lot of combat vets, LEO’s and a few ex-cons, every single one of will say trust me I’ve been in knife fights or knife Combat and repeat the same thing. If ever have been you wouldn’t be boasting about it.

Never bragged about being in a knife fight. Never said I proudly shanked anyone. I simply honestly and openly admitted to having been trained in Knife Combatives. And that's it. No clue which video you were watching. Obviously not the one you commented on. As far as what some random stranger on the Internet thinks of me, yeah.... not going to lose any sleep over your uneducated opinion of me. By the way, only reply you'll get from me. Go troll someone who cares or has a fragile ego.
