I m writting from MY BF s account I M A GIRL FROM ARGENTINA and in here using this push dagger SAVED MY LIFE TWICE, they are very practical
The cross section of this blade is exactly like that of a Megaladon shark tooth!
Since the last time I saw this video, this knife right here has become my fixed blade EDC. Concealed either on my neck or on my waist, it's my American Express. I don't leave home without it.
This is a very deadly friend :]
We can carry these in Texas now (as of September 1, 2017) And I do. I carry a gun everyday (and have for the last 15yrs) so I'm not worried about the optics of any blade) Meanest 4" blade you can carry IMHO. I have tons of blades and they all work great till my hands get wet for whatever reason. Then you really start to think about guards, choils, handle material... The push dagger is much easier to hang on to when conditions aren't exactly perfect. And if you're using a push dagger then the conditions are light years away from even ideal. We have giant hogs down here in Texas with hides that are extremely thick. A moderate jab with the safe maker will take you to the knuckles with ease. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, the Push Dagger has been underestimated by many, since it is dicey to carry one there hasn't been a lot of material on how to use it the best. I think it is a very effective weapon. With a nice snappy jab it can easily nail someone's hand or neck, and at closer range it is an anti-grappling device. It's also good for slicing and slashing before and after punches with it.
@@WeAllJuggleKnives I use this beast against BJJ guys
I have a late 80s cold steel safe maker and it makes you feel confident when you carry it
I love push daggers. I have the safe maker 2 and the serrated urban edge. This one just came back into stock so I ordered it right away. I'm also a former boxer (10+ years Golden Gloves) so these knives are pretty much a perfect fit. Seeing as I'm a bit older ( WAY older) than my ring days, these little stingers put the sugar back into my jab lol! GREAT video btw!!!
Best review ive seen on this product. Good job.
Al D. Thanks!
Throwing and sticking a push dagger wins the automatic Badass Award in my book!
Your comment made my day. Makes me think twice about wanting to be tall. And your logic is correct. All is fair in a fight. My life takes precedence over "fairness"
I have always thought this might make a good defensive tool for the elderly to carry. The ones that have reduced hand strength and still need something to defend themselves.
However, I also think they would need to understand to keep it close to their bodies so someone wouldn’t just swat it out of their hands. In fact, I think it should come with a small instruction pamphlet of possible ways to use it.
And thank you for the thoughtful review of this wonderful knife.
Being a disabled guy I can appreciate that
Thanks, man. I actually never reviewed this one before, but I did review the Safe Keeper II a long time ago. The Timberline Delta Tanto knife is not available anymore, so I probably won't review that folder, but I do like mine. Thanks for watching.
This was an amazing review...I hope you get way more subscribers!!! Keep this up!
Thank you, my friend, I will try!
These are great knives. I carry a Safe Keeper 3 myself but I had bought one of these for my son who was in the Marines. And he carried it every day in his boot when he was in Iraq. He even had it when they went into combat. And he still has to this day.
Cold Steel Rocks... Your reviews Rocks
excellent review, excellent weapon!Push dagger are fantastic for close quarter self defence.
I agree, this is one of my favorite push daggers
Great to hear, glad you survived!
If you're on a really tight budget you can get the Cold Steel FGX Nightshade Series Push Blade I & 2. I have em all around my house as a last resort.
I just bought one of these. I've had one in the past. But I sold it. So I hope the new ones are the same as the older one. I am 100% disabled. The law here is I'm allowed to carry anything I want.
Excellent, I had a friend who was in the Marines who had to kill someone in hand to hand combat, now that he is back home, he carries a push dagger everywhere.
Superb video, very detailed and informative. I really wish that the government in the UK change the knife law and allow the public to carry a locking blade at the very least.
I don't think no knife should be illegal open or concealed ,because it is not the knife or kind of blade style or size but the intentions of the person that has it. A violent person is only concern with hurting people and they can find objects to do that. No knife should be illegal if they are still making bricks and large glass bottles.
Always on time And firearms?
Great video review!!
Most definitely bro! I've found that it actually works better than some of the other throwing knives I have bought in the past. Throw from the blade, and enjoy the fun! (careful fun though, some people just cant throw knives safely.)
Thanks. Well, you know how it is lol. I used to hit a Makiwara and also did boxing training, sometimes punch focus mitts or bags without the gloves.
@elemenhorster - It can cut, and tip-slash. It just can't really slice very well through paper, so it would be hard to show. I'm sure it could cut raw meat, for example.
I have the United Magnum push dagger. There are alot of drawbacks to it, however it can be a good knife. It requires a grip, and sharpening; but the best part about it is the balance. I throw knives quite a bit, and that knife is amazing when it comes to throwing!
great review!
I agree. It is like with a gun, some people think they are going to "just shoot the guy in the leg," but most experts will tell you that is a not really a practical plan.
My Self-Defense Instructor advises that I should add a Push Dagger and a Tactical Knife to my Carry Gun; I'm 5'2" and an Avg Size man could pick me up off the ground and carry me off if he comes out of hiding.
With such a weapon, one of the tactic we've worked on, if he's holding me, is go for the Groin Area with a Blade; He Would let Go, and then I could go for my Gun.
Good review as usual =)
Great review man.....
Am I the only one thinking about Tom Berenger as Sergeant Barnes?
Ian P probably.
I would put a keyring through on one of the eyelets on the sheath and hook the ring through a carabiner that is threaded through my pocket.
thanks!
Can we use it to be a utility knife? How sharp the edges for cutting something like fruits, ropes, when we are in outdoor activities?
Dude I own both of those blades. Every once in a while I will carry the Safe Maker, just because. I tried to sharpen the United one but it doesnt take an edge very well, still good to stab with in a pinch.
Fuck'n lethal.
I am thinking about buying the budget option that you show at 09:42. The United push dagger. Is that United push dagger junk or deadly junk? Would the United push dagger hold up under a real fight? Would the United hold up under training if I used against a tree using the tree as a body opponent bag. I am sorry to bother you with all these question but you are one few guys knowledgeable to answer and one of the few who answer questions.
Unfortunaly, these are illegal in Germany as well. We're allowed to carry locking folders though, as long as they match some restrictions in bladelength and shape.
This knife is an absolute beast. It doesn't get nearly enough attention. That's one of the reasons nutnfancy irritates me. he reviews all these folding knives and overlooks obviously awesome stuff like this.
I haven't sharpened mine, I don't use it as a utility cutter or anything so the edge hasn't been dulled by anything, its just a one purpose blade :]
Informative. Thx.
aside from the knife i noticed that your knuckles are callous in the middle and index, tendon are spread up.. im guessing it took like a year and a half or even more to achieve that
I remember that scene
I would go with this
That's cool, once in a while you have to show the zombies who's in charge, then you carry both lol
I've heard this shaped blade is harder to machine than the double hollow grind.
The Safe Maker is $44 on Blade HQ not $70 anymore or whatever you got that price.
Love it.
OK! will try it!) Thank you!)
People at the CS HQ carry these on king cobra bracelets. It's pretty awesome
I like this one
Push daggers are VERY lethal .. The grip gives you a lot of power to tear flesh when you stab.
Yeah but if you look at the first 5mm of the tips, i whould say there is more steel in those 5mm in the SK2 than in SM1...
Dude, if someone your size started a physical fight with a smaller individual do you think they would just let that person beat the shit out of them? Honestly a good fight is any fight you win, it doesnt matter if you end up killing the person or "cheating". "cheating" in warfare lead to the invention of the rifle.
That point will defenetly hurt, hey can you sharpen this with the spyderco triangle sharpmaker ?
Excellent review especially comparing this to a gun. This knife was designed for one thing only and you must be careful when carrying this. In Florida this is considered a concealed weapon so you'll need a permit. Thanks for the video....
Please make a review of the United Cutlery Magnum.
wich one should i buy, this or down under knives bush dagger? Please answer cause this is gonna be my first push dagger...
Thanks! Yeah every year, more laws vs. firearms, knives, and everything! LEgalize freedommmm
Are you gonna get/review one of those Cold Steel Best Pal - 2.5 inches push dagger?
I believe Amazon and Knifecenter sell it.
Great VID. Nasty little thing. I wonder why it is more expenise than the Safe Keeper. It is very close to it in size, weight and design.
Sweet ☠️👊👍
This is true
How much this push dragger.. I can buy this because its beautiful 😍
Sir why do you think that the safe maker tip is stronger than the tip on the safe keeper?? The tip on the safe maker is pretty slim and delicate IMHO
mainly because of the triangular cross section
I want to get one as my work is by a very bad part of town. Lots of drug activity. Sometimes I walk home and this would make me feel safer. Is this easy to draw from the sheath in a self defense situation or is it hard to pull out?
Mine is easy to pull out. I know guy who was in the Marines and he experienced hand to hand combat for real and now that he is back in the US he does carry a push dagger as part of his defense loadout.
WeAllJuggleKnives @ Sweet. Thank you. I'll have to check that out. I think there is a store close to me that sells them.
I have one and when in a bad area I carry it in my hand with the blade up alongside my wrist.
It can't be seen that way but if I need it it simply drops into position.
@vdubber252k - Don't worry, it will be just as bad over here soon!
The tip would slash like a giant serration
Yeah the heat treatment almost certainly sucks. I am pretty much in a rut. You see here were I live there are no laws regarding the legality of how to carry a blade and what blades to carry. So I can choose whatever blade I want to carry but on the other hand the police can aprehend whatever blade they want and that's my fear I buy an expensive blade only to be aprehended. But with the possibility of the blade breaking on the worst moment possible I think it's better to stick with a Cold Steel.
That's true, but if you slash someone up to disable them, they will claim you were trying to kill them lol.
Good review, as always. I'm against push daggers, just based on my philosophy of use. Thrusting weapons, by their very nature, are deadly, after all, it only take 3" - 3.3" to pierce vital organs in the torso region of the body.
I'm more fond of cutting/slashing defensive knives. They are more capable of making peripheral cuts that MAY be deadly, but are a lot less deadly than thrusts, and are more for disabling an assailant than killing (never been attacked though, just my preference).
Your thoughts on defense are dangerous and may get you killed if you're ever in a position you must protect yourself or a loved one. I suggest you read "when violence is necessary" by Tim Larkin
@@Skyfall-sv8df This guy has no idea what he is talking about. When comes to self defense, use the best weapons to do so. This means lethal weapons are included.
Putting serrations on one of these will make them very capable of slashing as well as stabbing. The standard edge is already decent though.
Man i can't even carry any locking blade in the UK no matter how small.... :( NIce vid though always infomative :)
How can I buy it?))
History of a weapon is as old as humankind. If nothing, people would carry a wooden stick while going out in the night in our village. Having some kind of weapon on you uplifts your confidence than defending your self with bare hands. Push dagger, karambit, folder, fixed blade a hand gun a tactical pen whatever. Just always have something on you when you are in lonely place.
I intend to carry blades such as this to retain a firearm. If one attempts to steal a firearm off of someone's person then obviously one would want lethal force in order to retain said firearm.
honestly, no one really checks. as long as you don't go around announcing what you have it's all good.
i have been in knife confrontations. im still here thank god. i dont recommend anything. its a lose-lose situation. but ill say: sometimes a person doesnt stop just because they are bleeding a lot. (and thats all we want, for the person to stop) people can bleed a lot of blood (for what seems like ever) before they faint or go into shock. stabbing probably will look worse once you get to court. but if im in enough danger to pull a knife, i must be enough danger to stab someone. just my two cent
Actually the blade is flat on the backside because its cheaper to produce!
I am laughing my ass brother! I read in the comments here that Amazon got them for 30 bucks so I go search amazon and I found a counterfeit called "COLD STL SAFEMAKER I" by... now sit down... 105.60 bucks! Huahuahuahuahuahua!
Tomorrow is OTF day lol. Well, just one, but still
I was just kidding :]
@WeAllJuggleKnives what the hell ???
@Daninja42 - bloodthirsty bastard
I believe so, but this blade is never going to be super sharp, due to the steep geometry of the one side.
god damn texas wer allowed to own push daggers with a blade up to 5 1/2 inches long even with a double blade but we cant carry it because of the double edged blade
advanced we will September 1 !!!!! 2017 dust that shit off brother!!!
Just become a criminal - you can have all the weapons you like, and probably a social grant too.
the United blade is pretty junky, sadly!
Lol yup
Man i can't even carry any locking blade in the UK no matter how small.... :( N
No The UK really needs to modernize its knife laws to reflect reality, Banning locking knives , does not deter or cripple crime in any way. Laws that ban weapons tend to make the uninformed feel safe
lol i have all 3 of those blade in this video
All i see is a shadow dagger
lol
My EDC I have many cold steel knives 🔪 love them all 💪
LOL
On behalf of all short, angry men, I apologise.
If you stab someone in the neck with this it's over haha
