    I have this projector and its all around the best ultra short throw projector from the 3D to the HDR and SDR image alongside the dolby vision and the black levels, it is PHENOMENAL !

      The 3500 is the best UST in my opinion great 3D and very bright I can't recommend it enough and if it's too expensive the 2500 is excellent if you stay within 120". Awesome review as always.

    I am trying to setup my UST projector but I am running into setup problems because of center channel placement. I have the Epson LS800 with 120ft screen. I am currently running two mackie pa speakers streaming through my Apple TV. Before purchasing speakers I wanted to do my research but not much with center channel and UST.

    Nice review! 🎉 I’ve seen this in other reviews and predict the 3500 to be my fave especially with their floor raising screen if I were to go with a UST! 🎉. Curious tho, your images came thru looking very very pinkish, was that because of the camera used or does the awol 3500 skew more pink/red? 🎉 thanks.
    Btw. For anyone commenting on room size issues, maybe a UST isn’t for you.. stick with a 98”/100” tv. Ya can’t beat the floor rising screen that can be hidden when not used.. 🎉
    Also, if you placed this or wall mount the tv in a 10x10 room, like a bedroom or have your seating against the back wall, you’re already at 9.5’+ which is already 100” for 40-45 degrees viewing angle. Just a thought having researched best tv size for main bedroom etc. 🎉

      It's how the camera shoots it. I'm not sure why but it's not like that in real life. My demo room is calibrated and i'd say the Awol is very close to accurate and haven't felt the need to have any calibration done to it.

    Steve, are TVs and projector screens measured the same way? Thx.

      Yep. The diagonal.

      @@hometheatergurus Thanks! Last week I heard someone on UA-cam say screens are measured on the horizontal.
      Please have a great day, Kevin

    I've got a BENQ 7050i that does 2500 ANSI lumens. I don't think I need a brighter picture in my dark theatre room, and the 4K picture quality, along with color accuracy, are superb on the BenQ, for half the price.

    • @hometheatergurus

      It's very helpful for HDR . The color accuracy is pretty damn nice on the AWOL but i'm not saying i'd replace a projector you currently have and like.

    It's bright, but has bad black level. The brightness somewhat camouflages that. I'd be much more interested in the new Samsung 9 UST, that has 3300 lumens or so, but have yet to see any rewviews or similar. Also, the Epson LS800 is still the brightest at 4000 legit Epson lumens (the Chinese made projectors fudge the numbers quite frequently).

      On the silver screen I'm using the blacks are extremely good but that's discussed in the video. I can't comment on white screens.

    Curious how you have a home that has enough space for this. I have about 4' between the chair and the TV. Bedrooms are nowhere near the size needed to put 12' between any wall and a seat. There are also windows and doors in places that would not work with a home theater like this. Also wondering how you do audio from the front without obscuring the screen, with a front speaker you would need to put it behind the screen making the minimum size for a room you are talking about to be 12'+ chair length+ speaker placement length + whatever you are hiding the speaker behind+ screen. Easily 16'-20' or more. Some of us don't live in half million + dollar homes. Most room sizes are 10' max and less on another dimensions.

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  4 дні тому

      If you're 10' away this is a good option.
      The black section of the screen is acoustic.

      @@hometheatergurus Sir, the WALLS are 10' apart, nothing in the room can be 10' away. Not sure you read this right, but please try again.

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  4 дні тому

      @@frosted1030 I'm not sure what you're asking. If your room walls are 10' apart you can't sit further back. Some have larger rooms than others which is OK.
      A UST isn't going to be right for everyone nor every room which is also OK.

      @@hometheatergurus With the average living space being much smaller, what does someone do?

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  3 дні тому

      @@frosted1030 I'm not sure the average living room won't have seats 10' or more back but that's irrelevant. You do what works in your room.
      Google home theater gurus screen size for help on sizing the screen for your seating distance.
