    Put wheels on the old out feed table. Use it for assembly or to stage parts as you fabricate them. Wheel it out of the way when you need the space. Nice build Sam!

    Awesome work.

    Looks awesome, great job. One suggestion for laminating the mdf sheets. I tend to cut one finished size, and the second one an 1inch or so oversized. Then come back with a flush trim bit to even the edges up. That gives you a lot of room for error when lining them up.

    Lookin good Sam! I was thinking the same thing about notching the corner when you were laying out that curved cut. That would have been a lot of work for very little return AND the remaining small piece between the saw and the pipe probably would have broken off eventually anyway. Can't wait to see the final product!

    I don't think you'll have much room for outfeed if you do the router table in the back. It's only a couple feet to the wall. I think putting it in the large side area would give you the most maneuverability. Looks great BTW!

      Or just a separate rolling cabinet altogether, so he can roll it into position for larger pieces, and leave it over near a wall for smaller pieces.

    When you had the toekick level but too high, that was the perfect moment to scribe it to the floor. Just lay a pencil on a piece of 3/4 on the floor and run it along the sides of the toekick.

    Man I know you already added finish on top… but consider using India Ink on that MDF, if you get another project (miter station or such). For whatever reason, MDF takes India Ink EXTREMELY well, and it looks surprisingly great with a coat of poly on top!

    Very nice project! I can’t see a router table working on the out feed table. The direction of usage will be towards the wall. You could replace the left side cast iron wing with a sawstop router wing. But that cost some cash lol. More vids!!!!

      well shoot. never thought about doing the insert on the left of the saw. only seen them on the right side. that would work great!

  • @TheDesignerXD
    @TheDesignerXD 4 місяці тому +1

    Great build Sam! Inspiring me to go back and do my router table that has been ready to build for about 6 months. One recommendation that I have heard from at least a few woodworkers (like Jason Hibbs over at Bourbon Moth) add a Formica Laminate on the top of your Melamine and you will have a damn near indestructible surface for a good long while. Glue doesn't adhere well to it, so it's easy to get off with a paint scraper. And it's a really nice surface to slide work across.
    Second suggestion is to continue your cross cut guide on into the out feed, so that you can push pieces all the way through without running the runner into the out feed table.

    • @SamGreenMaker
      @SamGreenMaker  4 місяці тому +1

      I looked into Formica for the top and to be honest I'm just scared to try it. and I was being cheap. when this to gets destroyed ill likely make that upgrade. I will be doing the miter slots soon! I just wanted to get a part 1 video out for y'all before it takes me 6 months to finish this thing

    • @TheDesignerXD
      @TheDesignerXD 4 місяці тому +1

      I get it. Yeah I think since you’ve done the contact adhesive on the two pieces of mdf, you’ll have no problem doing the same for Formica. Looking forward to more videos as they come out. I’m enjoying watching someone build out their new shop with a reasonable budget.

    Looks great, I think you made the right decision in making the new outfeed table. Much more specific to what you want to use it for vs converting a table to an outfeed.
    How come you used contact cement instead of normal glue? Does it have to do with how MDF reacts to wood glue vs contact cement?

    • @SamGreenMaker
      @SamGreenMaker  4 місяці тому
