Hey lovely people. sorry it’s been a while since I last uploaded. We just had our second child. A beautiful little boy… two boys in total ! 🤯Im back now and have videos coming weekly again. Let me know where you are watching from. Jack.
Congratulations me too, little boy born 15th Feb 1 hr in the workshop at the lathe last 4 weeks! And no channel content, dream to get subs like yours one day 😀👍🏻
Welcome back and Welcome to the World Baby Mack! Congratulations on the new addition to your family; babies are amazing little balls of wonderment - the best. And speaking of amazing balls of wonderment - once again, this had me mesmerized. Turning a big old slab of tree into something so beautiful. I could study the grain patterns on that orb for hours. Absolutely beautiful! Many thanks for posting these videos, I'm enjoying them from sunny Spain.
Thanks K. Much appreciated. I wish I was enjoying them from Sunny Spain. I was supposed to be there now but couldn’t travel unvaccinated even with a negative test. 🤔
@@JackMackWoodturning 😊 Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, the fifth furthest from the Sun. It has a Great Red Spot on its side (the largest atmospheric vortex in the solar system).Well, this is the first thing that came to mind when I saw your ball😉
Watching from Virginia, USA 🇺🇸 beautiful piece !! You can always tell when an artist puts themselves into what they make, and you've done that here !! Such a handsome work of art !!!
Absolutely LOVE the variation in colour & the patterning within the grain, especially at the 5:55 point when you start to polish it, beautiful. Why (at 5:55) do you polish it by hand rather than using the lathe to spin it while you hold the rag & polish it that way ? Is it something to do with controllability ? or habit ? or something else ? Love the finished globe & the secret "hidey-hole" especially with the contrast between the light wood of the "globe" & the black of the stand.
My Vietnamese wife and I are in Phan Thiet, which is her home town. It's on the South China Sea coast almost due west from HCMC. We're older, and decided to retire here so she could be near relatives. Love your shop and your artistry.
Just found channel. Watching from Philadelphia. The problem with your stash box is, It's so pretty someone would steal it not knowing what's inside! 😁. Beautiful job Jack!
Awww, congratulations on your second little boy! I had two boys first and then a girl. This was a very beautiful piece! I doubt I would ever have the $1,000 to stash in it lol 😆. Watching from the state of Georgia in the US. Loving your work, as always! 💞
Thank you julee. Two boys is just amazing. I’m over the mood. They full me with joy every day I can hardly stand to be away from them. As we say here in northeast England.. they are proper little beltas. 😉
very cool! I've crafted snack stash boxes. I have clients that hide snacks in their bedrooms to keep them out of reach of their teenagers. LOL The snack stash boxes designed as something the kids would not be interested in, such as make up boxes with a hidden tray etc. Are effective in saving the snacks for the parents. :) They do stash cash there as well. :) :)
Congrats on the new baby! This is a great piece. I used to make bandsaw boxes and sell at art fairs - I swear about every other person would ask “what do you do with it?” I really, REALLY wanted to answer, “well you put your weed in it of course!” 😂
😆hahaha. You should have, that’s what they were all buying for anyway 🤣… I used to turn a lot of small lidded boxes too.. I’d sell way more if I called them “stash boxes” rather than jewellery boxes 😆😆😆
@@JackMackWoodturning Because it showed a real wad of cash in the lathe in the thumbnail, but in the video it was just wood! (implying that you would soak all that cash in resin, and then make something out of it)
You find such interesting pieces of wood to transform. This is a very beautiful piece, would be great to have that much cash to stash. It sounds like you can put that cash to use, 2 boys, no wonder you bite your fingernails. lol! Congratulations, I am guessing that he would be about 1 year old now. I started watching someone else but didn't look at the name, he was doing the same kind of wood turning, I saw the hands and knew it was not you, his hands were older. I can tell that you are a young man from looking at the hands. I am watching from California, USA where no one has any cash to stash.
