- In this episode, Andrew Boey teaches the simple TRICKS of using your Flashes ON your cameras to get stunning NIGHT portraits WITHOUT using any silly or ugly flash attachments.
REMEMBER: the logic here is to make your CAMERA as bright as you can... that way, your Flash's TTL will not be firing its flash too much (which will create hotspots on your subjects' faces). And don't forget to watch till the very end too...

Fantastic........this I can understand. I just can't get my head around indoor flash. I did a photo shoot in a church recently and all the photos looked like sh.......t. Bad exposure bad color the auto white balance was rubbish. A very bad day. The camera? Its a Canon 5D mkIII full frame. What can I do?

Thanks for nice videos. I am using ETTL but i dont find any difference with ETTL, when i use Manual mode using 1/128 power of flash it kills the ambient and model looks like ....... i can't describe. Please make a video on and teach us

I tried out this and it turned well. I have a godox T350S TTL flash for my sony a6000 but it doesn't have an flash exposure compensation option on the flash unit. I had to go into the camera menu to do that.
I hope to see more night photography videos on your channel. I am specifically interested in LED light photography using some inexpensive LED light sets.

How about using method number 3? I've had great success with your two ways and also by using the Slow Sync setting. Actually as a method number 4, (I rarely if ever use this method). Simply change the dial setting to Night.

What settings are the best for stadium at night photos? I had a hard time cause they would let me get closer to the action but, when I did take close up photos, the stadium lights just killed me.

Very useful video !!! Thanks !!! I have one question, maybe you can help me.....I have DSLR's mainly Nikons, one Canon....always use Nikon and Canon flashes, TTL setting....I have tried many times with both camera brands to get well lit backgrounds (always make sure there is light behind my subject) but, I can never get a well lit background by just taking my camera out of the bag on Auto, putting the flash on , and firing away at my model !!!!......I always have to do some fiddling with the camera settings to get a good result, and many times my model (usually wife) cannot wait for me to do that 😂.......Now, I also have a Fuji X100, that little camera never ceases to amaze me, all I do is, take it out of the bag auto settings, built in flash on and fire away at my model, no fiddling at all, as simple as point and shoot, always perfect shots !!!! well lit model, well lit background, beautiful skin colors !!!! That little camera makes me look like a Pro !!!!! It's incredible !!!!....Can you think of a DSLR that I can do the same with ? To buy it ??? Hope you can help me. Thanks.
