I’m 59 now, but I have been a strobist since I was 16. I love that there are still people who know how to do it properly. It separates the boys from the men, per se.
These photos are exquisite! I want to start doing off camera flash photography with speed lights. I hope I can get the same dramatic look as you do in these photos. Just amazing! Thanks for sharing!
canon speedlites (at least the ones i use) have focus assist for shooting in the dark... it activates automatically as needed if it is too dark for the camera to focus
Thanks a lot for sharing Eli, you make things so easy and simple to understand! You should come to do a workshop in Montreal, Canada one of these days! Keep up the good work!
Oh Eli please keep doing those videos. I’ve learned more from your content than my media education in school. A big thank you for your work. #todoelpedo

@Kason Dario Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Hello, I’m new at using a fill in flash.. I just bought a Westcott fj200 and I’m so lost on how to use it and the trigger. Im so used to using natural light.
Yes sir I really would like to learn how to create my own light source. I have good ad 200 pro and godox V1. But I feel like I don't really know how to improve my multiple flashes skill. Thanks a lot for your help.
what are you overall thoughts on the Sigma 35 1.2, i have the Sony fe 35 1.8 but have been contemplating sigma's lens. I too shoot with Sony A7iii & resently purchased Sigma's 105 1.4 ( e-mount) / love it
Is there a big difference in quality of light when using 1. a speedlight pointed away from the model bouncing into the umbrella and back out through the diffuser VS 2. any other light pointed at the model shooting through a diffuser?
Great how to video Eli! Just one question, when you use your speed light, what mode are they in? TTL/M? I missed your workshop in Chicago, however will you be having another workshop in Chicago in 2022?
Hello Eli, it's your a next great movie😁... I wonder about changing my speedlights Youngnuo 560 and 568 to Godox V1 ( I think that it is the same like Westcoot). Do you recommend this speedlight ? I also think about Godox Ad200 but this lamp doesn't have the modeling light.
I've never had a chance to use the Godox V1 but from what I've seen I'm sure its a good Speedlight. A few things to consider is if you need cross compatibility between different cameras the FJ80 works with different camera brands (Canon, Sony, Nikon, etc.). Another feature is the big touch screen with the FJ80. The touch screen IMO makes the FJ80 Speedlight the easiest flash I've ever used.
@@EliInfante thanks for your quick response 😊, I use only one camera , it's a Canon RP and I would like to use the speedlight at golden hour in my phottix deep raja 80.I think that a modeling light is a very usefull feature😁.
Hey Eli. I'm trying to purchase the right equipment to help me with a majority of my outdoor jobs - I usually don't need a lot of power - I shoot natural light primarily, very rarely studio shoots but sometimes. Do you think two of these units would be enough power for the occasional studio shoots? My main goal is get something portable and easy to carry.
Does it matter which thing you turn on first?! Do you turn the camera on first? Then the trigger?! Then the fj80 or fj400?! Does the order of operation matter?!
Going down to valley soon and I’m totally gonna go shoot at cine el Rey! Lol dude, I had told you I might use you #todoelpedo but instead I close my videos with #oralebye LOL thanks for the idea😎
In my cities, this kind of set up is already forbidden because the side walk is blocked. I was cited a few times this year because I did not not have permits to shoot in the streets/parks.

Do you use the dish inside the soft box for outdoors? Also do you use any CTO gels for outdoors in the evening?
No dish or CTO was used during this shoot.
awesome video! Do you recommend the Sigma 105 lens?
I prefer the 85mm due to the size.
Great video! Can you please do more of these lighting simple setups. Would love more with the Westcott FJ80 - just got it!
Thanks for the feedback Nicole I sure will! Let me know how you like the FJ80

You killed it bro. I like your choice of background and composition 🔥😍

Love your work, thank you so much for sharing! Which would give better bokeh, a 50mm at 1.4 or 100mm at 2.8?
Great question! I'm not sure hahahahaha but I'll guess 50mm 1.4
will TTL work the same way in this night portriats
Love you’re videos! And your work is flawless! Quick question… do you permit at all to shoot with all that equipment?
Thanks! In Texas they’re flexible where we shoot. No permits required 😁
Just got the fj400 strobe. Switch over form godox. I still have a lot of glow ez soft boxes can pair them with the strobe without the insert?
Yes sir 😁
Are you using rear curtain sync for these?
I'm using front curtain sync.
San Diego too Carnal!
Maybe in 2022 vato!
You are a master Eli, I love your works and how you explain it so easily. Keep it up #todoelpedo

Do you connect to both the key light and rim light or do you use put the rim light in slave mode?
I control each like separately with the Wescott FJ X2M trigger.
Helpful and beautiful; thank you.

interested in learning to create my own scene

where to find such a quiet and empty road :) lovely photos

Great info Bro! What handheld light boom did you utilize in this shoot?
Photoflex Lite reach Plus
