Genuinely one of the reasons why I like V3 so much. They became self aware of the poor writing and made fun of endless sequel and reboot culture. The series is always so black and white good v evil because all people want is to feel hope, is to feel good. I had a discussion with someone about this. I talked to a fan and, ironically, they hate V3 because they just want to feel hope, they want to feel good and they want more Danganronpa. They are the problem. V3 makes a pretty good critique on the predictable patternistic behaviour of storywriting, it's self aware about being fiction, it is critiquing itself. Kodaka knew what he was doing.
I was fine with it ending at the DR3 anime. Though I only checked the anime out after beating all 3 mainline games. I just kinda see this as an alternate universe. It's fine on its own, I loved the characters, and I really like how the characters handled the circumstances (by going against the viewers, or technically, us players). I just feel like it ending at the anime finishes the story.
But it doesn't have anything to do with poor writing or reboot culture in general. Also how are they the problem that they want more Danganronpa games?
I genuinely screamed when I got to this bit for the first time and mfing CLAIR DE LUNE started playing, this entire scene where Shuichi rejects hope and then the audience is so, so powerful to me, and it made this ending so worth it for me- Shuichi sounds like he's on the verge of tears but somehow so confident and strong that really shows his arc as going from a scared, weak detective, and it feels like it all led up to this moment where he tells Keebo that hope won't end Danganronpa and how they need to fight against the world that inflicts suffering for entertainment!- I love this game so much, it is a genuine masterpiece in my eyes- I don't think I have cried as much on repeat playthroughs as drv3. Shuichi is my favorite character in any danganronpa thing, whether it be game, novel, or anime and this trial made me so sad yet so insanely happy.. I'm really glad I picked up this series for these kinds of moments alone.. Trial 1, 4, 5, 6 all made me cry at multiple points, and let it be known that I haven't cried at anyone of the previous danganronpa games, so I wasn't expecting v3 to be any different, but WOW I couldn't have been more wrong. This game is one of my favorite games of all time, for its characters, story, plot, development, and arcs that blew me away. This game means so much to me, and I'm so happy that it turned out the way it did, despite its flaws. :)
this entire case not only solidified shuichi as my favorite danganronpa character by far and probably my favorite protagonist in anything, but it made grant george my favorite voice actor, his performance throughout the game is great, but he really shines here and has done some of the best voice acting ive ever heard
Kaito : "the impossible is possible ,all you gotta do is make it so!" "Well too bad for you, im not dying the way you want" Shuchi:"the impossible is possible all you gotta do is make it so"! "we'll end are tragedy here well never let anything like this ever happen again "! Kokichi :"if i cant win this game ill make it boring for everyone, thats my revenge". (This was in his script so it counts) "If monokuma picks the wrong culprit he has no right to execute anyone right, and that means it WILL be my victory and that will and that will ruin the entire killing game". Shuchi:"Fine be bored we are not here for your entertainment, we are trying to survive your the ones who want us to be entertaining!" "If not a single person casts a vote to either hope or despair, the audience will hate it, they would never accept and ending like that."
The VAs for Shuichi and Tsumugi also act as Leon and Sayaka from the first game. Leon and Sayaka both died in chapter 1 of THH, but in contrast, Shuichi and Tsumugi are amongst the last surviving players before the final trial ends. Plus, both Leon and Shuichi cause Sayaka and Tsumugi's deaths for one reason or another. I wonder if that was all intentional or if it was one big coincidence.
Straight up the moment this game steamrolls every other DR game lol. In a series so self-aware, it's only fitting that the story characters literally become aware of the nature of the fiction in which they exist and refusing to play along. God damn its so good lol
This is the only time in a rebuttal showdown where you are wrong and they are right Unlike most showdowns, in this one Shuichi is actually correct even if Keebo keeps rebelling
The way Clair De Lune plays and Shuichi’s performance as he turns down Keebo’s optimistic statments really stood out to me.
I ALMOST CRIED WHEN THEY DID THAT
danganronpa is what makes hope and despair not sound likes words anymore
Say a word enough times and it loses all meaning. Weird right?

@Jimmeeehhh It is actually. V3's universe is seperate from the main-line Danganronpa storyline
But it doesn't have anything to do with poor writing or reboot culture in general. Also how are they the problem that they want more Danganronpa games?
@@assassin8636 If you mean irl, the game doesn't make you like the audience in the story, although it's similar to us

The moment where Shuichi goes from the Mastermind's puppet to the true protagonist.
