Chip, I never forget when you said that your Dad always told you to pay attention to the details. And there you are fixing little details like a sharp edge on the wheels, still following your Dad's advice. I too follow your Dad's advice and I've learned that little details are actually a big deal!
The chief engineer of the Lincoln vehicle office back the late ‘60s always lectured his team on the importance of “TREMENDOUS TRIFLES”. He also included features in his cars, not mentioned in the advertising, to “SURPRISE AND DELIGHT” the customer.
All your videos are great, but this series has been particularly awesome. Thanks for helping to preserve this great piece of automotive history, and for sharing it with us.
I like how some guys try to give training to other guys who are really good at what they do. It's like being a good driving and knowing the roads and someone telling you where to turn to get there. Maybe they need help sometimes, but you are watching a master at work.
If a video, like this, with the doowop music, the car, Chip just talking us through his ideas and thought process, ran on for HOURS... I could watch it all, in one shot! These are VERY relaxing, to an old head, like me, that was born into a gearhead family!
Just came across your channel! I loved watching your TV content (Overhaulin' was a killer show), now I can deep dive through your content here. I have a 2010 Camaro SS2/RS ABM, a replacement of my original 2010 SS2/RS which was stolen while on a trip to Atlanta (now I know what'll make a grown man cry...). Back to stock for now until I get some extra revenue to start the mod journey again... one day, one day. Thanks again for your videos, love your down to earth vibe Chip. Thanks for sharing with us all :)
As much as I enjoyed O'haulin, removing all the TV drama is so refreshing. We get to see you scratching your head and are privy to the thoughts in your head, your art, your hands, your appreciation of car culture. This is Reality TV. Chip, you are real.
This was such an important time period. Early Barris and how he inspired so many. So many of us with memories of cars that did not survive. I can’t tell how important this car is and the work being done to preserve it. Bravo
I got to have a 10 minute conversation with him last year, it was the first time meeting him. Neither of us even mentioned a word of what we do professionally, just a casual chat. And he showed us a photo of his then new girlfriend!
Hotwheels did pretty good this year with the Hirohata Merc in 2 colorways, complete with tiny Barris Kustom tampo logo for $1.20. I'd like to see this licensed to HW for a "mint" original candy looking version of this. 👀
I got a couple of those mercs...they are pretty cool for a 1/64 scale car. It's amazing that they can make them so close to the real one - color and all. !😊
10:03 drove home (pun intended) for me at least how far automobile design has come in the last 70 years. Keeping in mind this is an automatic transmission, look at the gear selector indicator as they pan across the dashboard.
Man oh man, Chip we are all so lucky that it was you who found this car and you taking us along to see the master show love to a well deserved Barris ride, kind of crazy to think stuff that is and nobody knows about, I have lived within 50 miles of North Bend since 1960 and the countless times being in North Bend I must have been in the area or who knows maybe really close once, it's truly been cool to see I can't rate it because it would just have to go shoulder to shoulder everything you touch or do.... Top step!
Hopefully whoever buys it won't put in an LS engine, Roadster Shop chassis, and giant brakes. Lol. That car is a time capsule and much appreciate the meticulous preservation you're doing. Thank you Brock for the video's. Nicely edited with the era correct style music. Would love to see it being driven.
I am following you since the release of first episode of Overhaulin'. My dad had 1966 Chevelle (4 doors version) and 1978 Buick and I was in love with those cars. What you are now doing with this beautiful car is above all praise. May God bless you Mr. Foose. All the very best wishes from Ankara Turkey.
I said it too, look, my shirt has a chip... I love your merchandise, I think I have all your shirts, caps and the book... hoodies and many more things, greetings 👾👾👾👾
The only thing I would change is the exhaust to gold exhaust pipes on each side and paint the blue interior red and change the seats to red and gold it seems like something that was in the plan and they just didn't get around to it....... 😎😎😎
A beautiful car touched by 3 car legends is priceless!! A new lucky owner will surely appreciate all their hard work, efforts, and special touches making it. 1of 1 unique car. Great job Sir Foose👍
Chip and his team doing all this work to keep as much originality as possible and watch whistling diesel end up buying it. were gonna fill this all original 50-60s era show car with concrete and see how it holds up!
Paxton / McCulloch Supercharger, very cool, and great story on itself. The shifter pattern display, gear selector is an interesting set of chose's = N, D, S, L, R. No park setting. park brake?
This is so cool. I was wondering if maybe for the gold resto, you could take a page out of the portrait painting restoration book and cover the original paint with a clear barrier that's easily removed but won't hurt the original paint. That way you can work with different shades until you hit the perfect one, and if anyone ever wants to remove it, it can be done without hurting the original paint. I dunno. Just an idea.
I'm glad Chip found this car and asked to help. It could have fallen to a flipper that just flat black painted it. Then sold it for as much as they could and it would be an invisible car to its history. It's a high water mark for the time of Hot Rod's., Bobby Socks and Rock n' Roll.
My favorite part was watching them figure out the angle on that bracket, now I have to tell my high school geometry teacher... he was right... I would need geometry later in life.

Glad Chip found the add, The older legends who approve of this legend word on dressing it up a bit an seeing their work
the owners of this car really found the right man for the task getting it ready for a new home 2x👍 Thanks for letting us see the work you do.
Chip found them.
I think it was in Hemmings.
@@speed6725 Chip saw the ad which appeared in Hemmings online. He then reached out to the Glazier brothers to offer his expertise.
His bank account definately dropped some zeros with chip foose doing it
If you've got the money there's nobody better
Your reverence and gentle care are so heart-warming. Respect!
She's coming along nicely. Thanks Chip. You've earned all the love and respect you fans have for you.
All your videos are great, but this series has been particularly awesome. Thanks for helping to preserve this great piece of automotive history, and for sharing it with us.
This is an amazing time capsule in the absolutely correct hands.
Thank you Chip for taking the interest and shop time to restore this classic custom.❤️❤️
Love the passion and respect you have for this car and the artists that created it so long ago.
Thank you from all car people for saving a piece of history!!!
a real pleasure following the story and cleaning up/restoring of this car!.. thanks
Great to see Chip still hands on like this, video very well done 👍
A true artist that clearly loves all his canvases. Keep it up Foose from Australia.

This is such a cool piece. Wild that the interior is pretty stock. And doesn’t even match. Love that it’s being revived.
. . Loving this series, that car makes me happy. . .😎
Beautiful car, and I'm glad you are the man getting her back on the road Chip
Awesome. Great History. Thanks for sharing
I love the attention to detail!

Nice work Chip. I am not surprised
I attended the Dean Jeffries shop auction in 2013. George Barris showed up and spent a lot of time talking to Dean's family. I for one got closure.
Like a kid with a new toy..... I think someone is in love 😘....
I knew he could not leave it alone...looking great
Exactly as it should be "restored" just enough is enough. Slow and sure....Great job Chip and the rest of the team!
Music at the end was killer.
Chip you are a master at what you do, such a creative mind and beautiful cars you produce, would love to meet you someday

The car has really held up well over the years. Now a little face lift and it's beautiful and young again .
Really enjoying this series, wish they were longer. Love the music too!

Wonderful job, doing the least to keep her tip top. It was designed in an old school fashion.
The very essence of Custom.

Any chance we'll get to see it on the show circuit next season? Detroit autorama?
Could you imagine George and Chip doing a collaboration on a build 25 years ago . This is such a cool project . Thanks for taking us along

Another fine job chip!
Chip please keep us updated on this BARRIS vintage resurrection and make sure you do a driving video please thank you keep up the good work
After following him for a while, I’m ready to buy stock in BIC pens… 👍🏻
Chip incredible attention to detail on this Barris Kustom! How did that not have a dual exhaust installed?
Looking good mate . 🤠
The car is in the right hands.
Awesome Chip but why the new wheels? Ron
he would be proud with the extent of how true it is being done.
Awesome!
Chip is FoR ReAL MaN ! 👌🏻💯
Automotive history! I am glad Chip is getting it ready to drive again!
Why did the wheels have to be replaced?
Probably a wider rim to accommodate modern tires.
That's a shame
Pops yall have helped me see the team work and one hell of a great job yall do. I just wanted too say that! 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂
Very cool!!
Chip You have any Ideal when Its going to action and were, I really want to see How it does, just to see the Love of History. Great Video Chip
