Indeed, it's a lot of flying in one day (Unless you have a tailwind.) I am glad the journey home was in parts with a few days off :) Some intense trips are coming up with 10-hour days.
Out of interest, why push up to 16,000 when there's no benefit really in that aircraft. 14,000 is the most efficient really, over that the TAS will drop off due to lower air density so I can't see the benefit.
We could have flown FL140, but at FL160 the winds were a little bit stronger. It was also the first time I could comfortably sit at FL160 without running out of oxygen. Obviously, I would only need FL160 if the weather required. It does help, obviously not on this day with no clouds for miles - so pointless, but It did not harm and the flight times were very accurate to forecast.
