    Any way to add like a side snare? I'd like to have one of my pads play a separate snare sound from my main snare pad. For example I'd like to map a fat snare to my second floor tom, but I can't drag a snare sample to the floor tom in the VST. Thanks!

    I just down loaded your Demo and I'm pretty amazed ..I used a TD30 for live gigs and its sounds pretty good I have spent a few years developing sounds, I play in an 80's retro band with lots of processed sounds (I'm sure some of the originals were done on a TD30 I get them so close). the hats have always been the weak point in the TD, Slate just brings them alive, closest I have come to playing real hats I was quite shocked and the snare articulation every ghost note gets picked up, starting to wonder what the hell is wrong with my TD LOL !!!! I do feel some latency so I have have to experiment a lot more before I would ever try it live, big question how hard would it be to load in a lot of processed samples ( I do have a studio whiz buddy that has access to millions of sounds ) ..and I'm a little scared of adding another thing that just might freeze up live ..were running Cubase for Backing Tracks thru a Midas MR18 and all the vocal effects are triggered in real time via Midi, guitar effects via midi and a DMXIS lights show triggered Midi all running on Cubase ...we might be pushing the envelope, very embarrassing if we had a crash ....great product very impressed with the Demo I miss my acoustic drums and this was like having them back

    SSD5 and Presounus Atom pad-Wishing that the SSD magic PDF file I got with the download showed me how to map my Atom pads to the sounds in SSD5.

    So when you drag the sample over to the cells to layer , it "just knows" that a snare sample should go with the snare already placed into the kit.... In other words the order of the cells on the left isn't important... Strange , but that will work!

    The audio of SSD is too low in comparison to the speech!

    Is it possible to add an additional cymbal or other drums? Not layered but adding another snare for example to a free midi cc (or piano roll spot). You get me?

      It's definitely possible. You can do so by creating a custom kit. Check out this article for a step by step guide.

    Can you choose the key that the drums are tuned to ?

      @@heythere6983 From the "Edit" tab, select the drum you want to tune by clicking on it. Do the same for the accompanying instruments in the side cells if you're using those as well. Then, under the volume knob, you can adjust the tune.

    How do you add, say, a 2nd kick to the left slots and give it it's own midi note? I can't seem to figure this out. I want to have 2 independent kicks but they are both assigned to the same midi note and I can't seem to change this...

    • @joeytanka
      @joeytanka 3 роки тому

      Same here, but with cymbals ... I have 3 crash cymbals, how can I assign them to one midi note each and have 3 actual crash cymbals (not splash or china)? Thanks for your help in addvance!

    • @DennisWardsTrakShak
      @DennisWardsTrakShak 3 роки тому +2

      @@joeytanka I've figured it out: In the Edit parameters, under "Articulation" you can choose which instrument to associate the new sound with. Just choose a user or reserved preset and all will be well.

      Hey Ramo, SSD doesn't accept 3rd party drum kits. The 148 kits included in SSD5.5 are more than enough for most people. If you really want 3rd party kits, Trigger works with them.

      Sorry the speed feels too fast George. We'll keep that in mind when creating future videos. If you have additional questions, contact our support team. They can answer any specific questions you might have

      @@StevenSlateAudio Thanks for the prompt response. I would probably have your support team on the phone for longer than is economical - for either of us. The support documentation - or even videos - is remarkably sparse. Quite a few things are not explained. For example; dropping instruments onto existing slots "layers" them....but what if you don't want that? Do you have to erase the instrument and start over? What is the purpose of the slide slots? Layering? Is it duplicative? Are they in 'reserve?' Why are there no direct mics on the cymbals? Is there a way to do it? (BFD does). I could go on; but you get the point. A well-documented, comprehensive set of videos or manual would be enormously helpful. It's hard to believe there'd be such effort in putting together a program like this without help. I'll keep experimenting, but it's an incentive to move on to - or back to - other platforms.

      @@gdahlman Thanks for the feedback George. We'll forward your suggestions along to our development team about adding some of these topics to the SSD user manual.
