Crazy how the beta that was stated to be to test servers has server problems.
That's right! The point I was trying to make is I think it will be difficult for them to resolve all of these server issues for launch. I don't think it's impossible for them. They just have a LOT of work cutout for them
All of these will make the launch a bit unsuccessful imo
I had a feeling this would happen, Starbreeze has been doing a huge amount of oopsies lately.
It's a server test and stress beta. It's not going to be perfect.
on the web page that announced the beta, they stated this as a known issue.
@@Spadoff421 Its a marketing demo, dont belive them, this has happen alot of times before in the past with other companies aswel. I aint falling for it yet again.
the devs did say the beta is from april, so of course it's gonna be worse, plus it's a technical beta to see the states of the servers, so if they're not working correctly then it's good this beta exists, otherwise the game would be released with all these servers issues and more. now, of course shit isn't perfect even taking this into account, the denuvo and always online shit really need to go imo.
once again, THIS BETA WAS ALREADY SAID TO BE FROM APRIL, NOT JUNE OR JULY.
I'll never deny it's good to be getting this out of the way now so we don't have growing pains at launch. My frustration is more coming from it being this bad to begin with. I'm concerned that the build was in a state where the majority of people can't level up but Starbreeze still sent it out as a viable testing environment. That isn't close to the conditions of where the starting point should be.
@@RustyChains Yea honestly I have no idea why they thought sending the April build rather than the June build was a good idea
@@marosynth6434 If I had to guess, I'd say it was to hide things that aren't ready to reveal. The June build we played, which was the Press Build, had a whole other heist as well as some other things. The April build we got now is already being datamined to high hell. It would be much, much worse with the Press Build
the level 1 bug is happening to me too
Hope they fix it
They at least tweeted that they're aware of it. However, I'd rather they spend those resources making sure things are ready for release rather than stitching up a beta on a build that's four months old
Felt like rusty used this video to sneak in the punchline to beg starbreeze to make the game able to be played offline 😂
Guilty as charged. I feel like the beta proved why we needed it, though!
me when the beta meant to help fix bugs before launch has bugs in it
"Guys it's a beta stress test, why are you all complaining about things breaking in this environment?"
Oh idk maybe because we are 49 DAYS away from launch and we're already seeing what an "Online Payday 3 Experience" is shaping up to be.

right now I’m trying to download the beta but it keeps saying something went wrong?? N give it another try??
I wouldn't know. Didn't get picked for the beta.
To be fair the servers did just get semi public use so some kinks ae gonna be there. Honestly I feel a good chunk of the bugs are gonna be sorted out near the release date.
I'm on xbox series x does anyone know how to fix the nebula deta error its kinda pissing me off I waited to play this game now I cant
i keep getting nebula data error everytime i try and log in. not sure what to do
yeah in the beta bugs its says that they are working on a fix
No sentry turrets either, even after unlocking skill req for engineer. Sad.
"Nooooo but the knowley said it was so goooododododoo1!!!!1!11!" -every payday player that lacks critical thinking.
I think the Knowley for the most part is reliable, the issue really stems from starbreeze lacking any attention to keeping this game working.
Plus, it’s as rusty chains says, the game worked fine on the build they played a month ago in July, the one which the knowley attended, but this beta game is bullshit, and nobody had any idea until now that the goddamn servers and progression systems aren’t even working
@@davidadu8559 yeah, the only feeling i can get from this is that ovk is still as incompetent as they have always been and that the game is shipping in a broken state, thats all.
@@AlFredo-sx2yy it was already stated this beta is from a build from April, which was on worse state than the build that was more known to us, which was from June. This means that at least the game we'll get shipped out is gonna be much more robust as already confirmed by most if not all content creators
ON THE OTHER HAND, as to why Overkill decided to test servers on the April build rather than the June build is beyond me.
@@AlFredo-sx2yyyeah, they haven’t learnt from the walking dead clearly, and it’s stupid considering the team managed to make payday 2 far more stable at launch than this
@@marosynth6434exactly, why the hell would they use an older build of the game? It begs the question onto whether or not the game is truly finished yet. I’m not going to doubt them, but it’s not a good look
On Xbox series X it runs fine and the group I play with have had no server issues but none of us have been able to level up either
I thought that not being able to reach character lvl 2 was intentional. If it's not, what the fuck. But also why would it not be?
It is not intentional. The intended level cap of the beta is 22
@@RustyChains yeah, I noticed that they posted about it on the pd Twitter. My progression fixed itself after I failed a heist, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it
Not a fan of the new game so far.
I played for like 5 hours not a single problem so idk
mabey they can make offline progression its own thing.. as weird this sounds, better than nothing.
This online only shit is so fkn annoying....
It’s a closed beta not they serious and you somehow expected it to work properly? This is why you don’t pre order or get hyped for games now
I understand all that. For me this situation is more "my expectations were low but holy shit". There is little to be gained when they kick it out the door in a state of "Yeah we know its broken". Now we have development resources going into stabilizing the beta build rather than the final game.
Performanceeeeeeeeeee... isn't good.
the performance is awfull
only about 400 people playing it right now with a peak of 1100. Some server test!
Remember, this is available on Xbox as well so it isn't just Steam. But also timezones have to be factored in, as well as the fact that this playtest has a total global cap of 5000 people spread across the globe. There are more rolling invites coming so it'll increase over the next few days. For a smaller sized test to drop in the middle of a Wednesday when a lot of Payday's target audience is at work, this test was never going to be at 5000 out of 5000 and that is perfectly fine. My concern is that the servers struggling to this degree with this few players means it'll be some rough going on launch with all the gamepass players plus however many other purchases
Its 5000 today and more will be sent out in the coming days
Payday3 looks dope 😍
When it works well, it really does slap!
I expected the server issues but it's weird that they would allow the public to play a much older build then the one they let youtubers and press mess with. I get that it's a stress test but why would they want to lead with a less functional build?? There must have been some technical issue or something that came up and they thought this build would be better???
It is odd. Been wracking my brain about it
Jesus is it that bad?
No, the whole point of the beta was to test the servers by tomorrow it’s probably gonna be fixed
In our experience, yes. Everything we talked about in this video happened on our livestream today so we have video of it all
The beta build that the devs said wouldn't function perfectly didn't function perfectly? Might as well just scrap the game altogether then
I didn't expect it to function perfectly. I was just hoping it would function...somewhat
The performance being that bad they must know it runs like s*** on console, hence no PS5 beta.
Look at the last online game they made OTWD & look what happened to it.
I AM quite interested to see how it runs on on the Xbox beta that's out right now.
Ive heard it runs pretty good on xbox also xbox has a built in testing thing called insiders ps5 doesnt hence why they dont have access to it
@@RustyChains I would say it runs a bit better than ps5, they have a beta while PS doesn't.
@@RustyChainsI have played for hours yesterday on xbox and it runs perfectly. I have heard of some having problems but I haven't had an issue and am now just even more excited for release.
@@sharkygaming8987 "By process of elimination, it has to be Xbox"
Bro it a beta smh
Bro. The game is releasing in a little more than a month, and this is the public’s first look into how the game plays. Saying that “it’s just a beta” isn’t an excuse for a poor product let alone one soon to be released.
On top of that, they’re apparently using a build from April instead of the one playtesters went to play last month, which begs the question to whether they’re trying to sell us a worse product and disguise it as something good
@@davidadu8559theyre prob just hiding the rest of the content and used this so they would have the bank
Indeed it is. The point of a beta test is to gather feedback so the devs can make necessary changes before the official launch. This is my feedback
@@RustyChains based af, thank you guys for pointing this out, cause I was skeptical about preordering this game, as to show my support to overkill and the devs. But I think this was a really good reality check for me not to go for something like that if the game may potentially be a mess
@@RustyChains I really can’t stress how thankful I am that you guys pointed this out with a huge sea of people just praising this game left right and center. Especially since one of the key reasons I wanted to buy this was to play with my girlfriend as we love playing coop games together, and I loved payday 2, and I hoped payday 3 would be a good chance for us to enjoy something together, seeing as the servers are janky, I’m just going to be a bit more hesitant and see how this issue gets resolved. Thank you rusty chains, you guys are doing gods work ❤️❤️❤️
I dont understand the point of half of this video.
Im sure youre aware that the beta build is some months older then the buold you played initially. This invalidates complaints made about optimization and UI issues since you know for a fact that these have already been fixed months ago.
In fact im shocked to see that as part of the few who did get early access, rather than calming concerns you're instead falsely giving the impression that development is going backwards.
In regards to the other half of the video, pointing out the servers not working is fair and good. I dont however understand the entitled tone stating the servers "dont fucking work".
You're also aware this is a technical server test, and a crucial part of development and testing is failure. Without failure, the developers wouldnt get any useful information and this whole thing would be for nothing. So if the developers were full well expecting failures i dont get why someone would be shocked or upset when there are failures.
To reiterate, pointing out server flaws is useful, but stating the beta is in an embarassing state as if its due to incompetence, and falsely giving the impression of time moving backwards isnt helpful.
They intentionally provided an old build with the bare minimum neccessary for us to help them test the servers, we were not promised nor entitled to anything more than that. Not even the servers working.
I mean Starbreeze has really hugely ruined Payday 2 along with other games they made and it's not the first time that they do that.
Bay1k Has a Deep explanation of why it's happened.
But to simplify whatever happened in PD3 Beta it just basically doesn't make people trust if they gonna fix and make it work.
@@funwithgttop3481 My point goes no further than stating that the optimization issues have been improved and we know this for a fact. What I'm talking about isn't a matter of trust.
I'm not really interested in discussing starbreeze's competence when it comes to managing payday 3.
I just think we should see things as how they are in the present, rather than using our past feelings about starbreeze as an excuse to invalidate any good they are doing. I don't think its really fair honestly.
@@carlmwaamba9846 You have a point and I won't argue.
However, because of how they treated the game before, I don't trust their development much until the game is released and received an overall review.
It might be good who knows.
