Sciatica and Disc Prolapse Easy Self Test (TAMIL) | Back Pain Signs and Diagnosis

  • In this video, we will do home based self test to diagnose slip disc and sciatica. Test for disc prolapse (L4 L5 & L5 S1), disc compression, back pain and sciatica in tamil.
    Slip disc or protruding disc occurs when the cushion-like cartilage (the disc) in between the vertebrae is torn, and the central core (Nucleus Pulposus) of the disc leaks. Slip disc can occur at any part of the spine, cervical (neck), thoracic (upper and mid-back) and/or lumbar spine (lower back). Slip disc can be caused by a sudden trauma or by long-term pressure on the spine (prolonged sitting). People aged between 30 to 50 years are most commonly affected by slip disc. Repeated lifting, poor posture, sedentary life style and obesity are some of the risk factors for herniated disc.
    A herniated disc injury is suspected when the back pain is aggravated by:
    * prolonged sitting
    * lifting weights
    * forward bending
    * coughing or sneezing
    In severe cases, a prolapsed disc might compress the sciatic nerve causing radiating pain, which runs from lower back, down through the buttock, hamstrings and into the lower leg, known as sciatica.
    In this video, we will demonstrate the following tests.
    1. Slump Test
    2. Heel Drop Test
    3. Heel / Toe walk test

    Hello doctor..
    Really feels good and clear that my numbness and tingling senses in my legs are due to sciatica tension after confirming with the slump test done...
    Actually the physiotherapists and the doctors on the UA-cam or the medicos I visited didn't even consider the tests shown by you..
    Really a big vote of thanks to you bro...
    After doing the slump test, I have stretching tightness and pain on my both of the legs...and I also recieve an irritating numbness on the sole of my feet while I walk.....this walking numbness I have been experiencing for the past 15 days...
    But no doctors around me have suggested the relief measures for the numbness I'm going through, I have started the relieving stretchs on my own before two days...
    My question is, do we experience sciatica tightness and numbness on both of the legs on the same time simultaneously?..
    Please advice me what to do, doctor....

      yes you can get sciatica pain on both legs. It depends on the way of disc prolapse. You can continue these exercises. Thx

    Thank you so much sir.. I got spinal cord issue last two days, due to have a gym weight lifting class day before yesterday.. I went hospital and wearing bullet but it won't reduce pain..     Hi sir,
    I am 32 years old , I have l4 ,l5 disc prolapsed and also they diagnosed sacralization in my MRI scan report I have severe low back pain ,and also left leg pain, last one month I am getting cervical pain also..tell me the stretches for these problems sir .

    Sir, I am having disc prolapse since 15 years confirmed by MRI by my Dr. Before 15 years. Now I am getting numbness in my hands fingers throughtout day while night it is going morning it is coming. I am doing regular excersise for sciantica. Hands just started 1 week before, taking ayuerveda also.
    Consulted nuero they asked me to take MRI and NCS test, since this will cost more and my neck pain is not that much I feel stiffness in lumbar only, neck very minimal. Having vertigo also. Pl suggest me some self test to identify spinal card compression. Dr suspects that.

    Hi sir I've been diagnosed with sciatica 6 months back...6 months back I had severe pain...but now the pain has reduced a lot.. and I just took bed rest I didn't go for any physio therapy .but now I feel the pain when I stand for very long time in the same position...bcoz of this I gained lot of weight...now IAM doing jump rope workout 5 times a week with proper shoes and insoles..will this cause any problem for my back....and also IAM following ur sciatica stretches post workout...I need ur advise sir for weight loss and to get rid of this pain permanently....!

      Hi, as you can clearly see in the MRI there is disc bulge at L4 L5 level. But you only have minimal narrowing. So exercises are good enough to treat this.

    Doctor ,I was said that I am having compression fracture in T12. Is it related to this??. Any exercise for compression fracture? Please suggest.

      Hi, no need to worry about compression fractures. It will heal by itself. All you have to do is, avoid strenuous activities. Do gentle back / core strengthening exercises. Thx

      Hi, 2 months pregnancy is too early to get back pain. It should be some muscle strain. If the pain persists, pls see your doctor. Thx

    வணக்கம் சார். நான் திருப்பூரில் உள்ள ஒரு கம்பனியில் 16 வருடங்களாக வேலை பார்கிறேன். எம்ராய்டரி மிஷின் ஆப்பரேட் பண்ட்ரேன். ஸ்டேண்டிங் ஒர்க்ஸ் தான். தினமும் 12 மணி நேரம் வேலை, ஒரு வாரம் பகல் வேலை, ஒரு வாரம் இரவு வேலை.
    எனக்கு 06/02/2019 ல் ஒரு விபத்து ஏற்பட்டது. தலையில் நெற்றிக்கு மேல் எலும்பு உடைந்தது, அப்போது அறுவை சிகிச்சை செய்து கொண்டேன். ஒரு மாதம் மட்டுமே ஓய்வு எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வேலைக்கு சென்று விட்டேன். ஒரு வருடம் மாத்திரைகள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன், அடுத்து ஒரு 4 மாதம் கழித்து முதுகு கீழ் பகுதியில் லேசான வலி ஏற்பட்டது, அதற்கு மெடிக்கல் ல் மாத்திரைகள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன். ஆனால் சில நாட்களில் மீண்டும் வலி ஏற்பட்டது, பின்னர் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக வலி அதிகமானது. தற்போது முதுகுத்தண்டில் கீழ் பகுதியில் வலி அதிகமாகவே இருக்கிறது. நான் எந்த மாதிரியான சிகிச்சை எடுத்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்....

    I am at the verge of crying out loud.....Have a severe pain n tingling sensation in my right leg after my 2nd delivery.....Not able to sleep peacefully because of this pain....does it have complete cure?.....When i tested the test which you mentioned, i have pain during all the tests....kindly suggest....Have severe pain while bending,lifting my child, playing with my child etc....my quality of life is getting affected because of this....
