Several Warner Brothers alumni (Raft, Mayo, and MacLane), Gene Lockhart, and Charlie Chan and Mr. Moto veteran Victor Sen Yung (also notable for his fabulous work in Warners' 'The Letter') in this quality B. Well worth seeing. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you ❤ George Raft was a great actor. I think this was one of his best, but he was known for his very elegant dance career.....I think that he was better than Fred Astair.. That's only my personal opinion. I had the joy of meeting and dancing with Donald O'Conner. He was such a great dancer, and a kinder man, I never met.💖💖💖💖💖
Agree that this was one of George's best performances and that the supporting cast was excellent. I run his website and have written about it there and elsewhere. Also, I met O'Connor and thought he was very sweet and kind. Lucky you to have danced with him. 😀
@@1940sDream George was a dancer for years before he landed a movie role. Astaire commented in his autobiography on George's Charleston. In the 1930's, he had a reputation as the best tango dancer in Hollywood.
"Liquor doesn't drown your troubles- it just teaches them to swim". I never forgot that line. I used to like Raymond Burr until I found out about his "predilection". Now it colors my view of him in movies.
I really appreciate that Christianity is involved in this movie . I remember seeing this a couple of times before they didn't show it anymore . Any movie with Christianity was band . Very interesting movie thanks .
George Raft always delivers a good movie. And Raymond Burr...wow...he sure could be a cold hearted killer...!! I thought the ending scene was so appropriate. Wouldn't it be interesting if the origin of the man's last name, Torno....had something to do with another spelling of God in another language, or perhaps salvation, etc.?
@@DavidRice111 well you missed the whole point as well ..His brother Jess was a Priest ..he did NOT want GR ( I forget his name in movie ) to take vengeance on the his murderer ..do y'all get it now? ... thank you

Thanks for posting. Great movie, with a strong message. Ave Marie.✝✝✝
Great movie. Really appreciate the explanation with the plot. Some don't give any information. Thank you so much for posting.
Yep - when I find no synopsis, I give an automatic dislike!
Wonderful 🎚️✨
Excellent movie!!

My favorite Raft movie was his great dancing role with Carole Lombard in "Bolero" - unforgettable!
@@1940sDreamexcellent dancer!
And the great Paul frees as the bellboy he did great voice work for Hanna Barbara productions in the 50s and definitely the 1960s
I,ve always found rafts performances consistently wooden. Thank you for providing this interesting film! Great black and white!
Wooden"!?.....lol .he was a real MAN with a spine...loved him

Raft's name in this movie is Johnny not Raymond.
Good non-Christmas Christmas movie with a touch of "old-fashioned" Roman Catholic religion.
This movie has nothing to do with insurance Very confusing

San Francisco
I hate when Raymond burr plays the criminal or is about to play a criminal
The man could have just said the name instead of using the last of his energy to say it was written in the Bible.
You missed the whole point...Jess did NOT want to say his killer's name...do you understand?🎚️✨😔
@@karenhill3970 I think YOU missed her point- this is a crime drama with catholic religious overtones, Janice is quite correct.
